Also the guy on the guitar is Jimmy’s brother in law, Mark Lizotte (Deisel) phenomenal singer, sing writer and guitarist. He does a lot with Jimmy too.
I never understood why Cold Chisel wasn't a hit in the US, and other bands like Midnight Oil made it big. Maybe it had to something to do with record companies. In my opinion, it was shameful how we (USA) did not get to hear Cold Chisel in their prime. Listen to the song "Khe Sahn", and you will know what I mean. RIP Tina
Johnny had a young family and didn’t want to be away from them. Touring in the USA would have kept him away. And Cold Chisel tried but were treated like crap and told to change their music (I believe) so they opted out! Americans loss
Jimmy Barnes was the lead singer of the Australian band cold chisel Check out the song bow river When Jimmy left cold chisel for his solo career he was asked by Eddie Van Halen to replace David Lee Roth as the lead singer of Van Halen Jimmy turned the offer down to spend more time with him family Cold chisel is worth getting into Cheers Steve 🇦🇺
Jimmy said the only time he was nervous . He was nervous about dancing, Tina don't worry I'll make you look good. The guitar player is his brother inlaw Diesel. Jimmy has a 50 plus year carreer. All of Jimmy's reactions must be live as his performances are a show in themselves. Start with Wild Thing, work up to Stone Cold. He just released an new album a couple weeks ago at 66 years old. ❤❤❤❤❤
Jimmy Barnes is the greatest male vocalist with the most powerful voice in music. Explore more of his stuff starting with Cold Chisel to his solo stuff. He also does a lot of duets and collaborations with other artists. Jimmy is an Australian icon and legend. Been around putting out records constantly since the 70’s. Also check out the one album super group Living Loud. Jimmy is frontman. His collaboration with the great Tina Turner for this is iconic. I think their voices belong together. Love this song. Happy you reviewed it. ❤️🇨🇦👍🏽
First time hearing this version,Wow!Great version! R.I.P. Tina Turner, your music will continue to have a wonderful impact on all that grew up with your music, and be introduced to the generations to come!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful performance with all your viewers. What an exciting, high energy duet. I agree that Tina gives me goosebumps also. Love everything she did. I never heard of Jimmy until a few years ago when another reactor showed the Jimmy/Joe Bonamassa video of "Stone Cold". I was blown away and became a huge Jimmy Barnes fan. He has such a powerful, yet soulful voice. Jimmy is much older now than he was in this video, but is still a force and very beloved in Australia where he immigrated to when he was a child. Jimmy also wrote a two part memoir called "Working Class Boy" and "Working Class Man" which documents his amazing life story. His harsh/violent, poverty stricken childhood in Glascow Scotland and the story of his family stuggling to achieve a better life in Australia is very powerful and hard for most of us middle class Americans to even imagine. Yet he overcame it all and is a true inspiration. He is one of my favorite rock heroes.
@@eviekelpie1 Are you Australian? As I said, I only discovered Jimmy fairly recently, but he has become one of my two favorite male soul/rock vocalists, along with the late, great Steve Marriott. I love both these men,not only for their amazing soulful vocals, but also because of their life stories ( I have read the 2 Jimmy memoirs and 3 Steve biographies). Both of these men were greatly blessed with talents, but both struggled in life. Steve spiralled dowward and was never able to redeem himself, but Jimmy's story is a true inspiration and i am so impressed with his life wisdom and his strong family values. I am so happy to have discovered him, even at this late stage.
@@cindyfalstrom7231 Hi Cindy, yes I'm an Aussie! Although born in Uruguay, South America. I watched Jimmy's biographical documentary and made me admire and respect him so much more. Steve Marriott was an amazing singer, although I don't know much about his background. I'll see if there's a documentary on him. Our other National treasure is John Farnham, " The Voice". We went to see his documentary last week at the cinema. Another inspirational story. Unfortunately, we don't know if John will ever sing again as he's had a tumour removed from his jaw. It would be so sad if his voice cannot be heard again. Jimmy and John collaborated together on When something is wrong with my baby. Have you heard it?
@@eviekelpie1 Yes, I am a little bit familiar with John Farnham, but probably need to listen to more. I tend to prefer blues/rock/soul which is why I love Jimmy. The doc which introduced me to Steve was on YT & called "What ever Happened to Steve Marriott?" I thought who?, then fell down the rabbitt hole. Also Amazon Prime has a doc called "Humble Pie: The Life and Times of Steve Marriott" and another called "Midnight of my Life" more of a fictionsl short film with Martin Freeman(hobbit) playing Steve (not very good IMO). YT has lots of videos and docs on the Small Faces, Steve's first band, but not as many on Humble Pie, and nothing on his later life, he kinda faded away, sadly... Nice chatting with you ✌
It’s a three parts series…so far. Jimmy’s third book is called “Killing Time”. He’s also written two children’s books and he has co-written a cookbook with his beautiful wife, Jane. Jane is currently working on a new cookbook and Jimmy is working on his next book which will be a work of fiction. 🙂
You can certainly draw us on to this exhilarating performance. Great reaction. And such fun. Tina's a given. Never better. Jimmy is a must watch and hear. Try his duet 😮 with John Farnham called When something is wrong with my baby (a sam and dave cover i believe) The hey hey it's saturday live performance is simply the best 🤚🤚. Or his recent Stone Cold with legendary guitarist Joe Bonamassa. Both awesome.
Fabulous Tina with the great Jimmy Barnes ❤️🔥🔥🔥. For another stellar performance check out Jimmy Barnes with Joe Bonnarassa in Stone Cold . I promise you will not regret it
Wow Biz you've actually got to hear our Aussie Jimmy Barnes!!! I'm so happy, he's a rock legend here in Oz!Jimmy began as a young rocket with a band called Cold Chisel. He's worked with so many greats and his kids are musicians too! Please react to Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham, When something is wrong with my baby. John Farnham is our other Aussie icon, whom still to this day is the highest selling artist in Australia! Jimmy has had an amazing career with Cold Chisel as well as a solo career.
Three legends together. I am a big fan of all 3, Tina, Jimmy and Diesel. Thanks for the reaction. Hope you do some Cold Chisel reactions. They are one of my favourite rock bands along with Led Zeppelin and Metallica, and are brilliant live. They simply don't have a bad song.
I grew up with tina in Australia 🇦🇺 If you want to see Jimmy barnes look these up he was in a band called cold chisel Look up cold chisel wild thing live performance last stand version this is them when young the guitar player Ian moss singer as well they both sing in band at different times and songs Also Jimmy barnes and Joe bonamassa Stone cold amazing vocals and two amazing guitar solo's he's in his 50s and still singing During that song tina helped Jimmy as he was nervous but they had a ball and guitar 🎸 player is a solo singer and jimmy's brother inlaw He's originally from usa but his parents moved out here when he was young so Aussie as well Rip to the queen now singing with the angels looking down on us all Cheers mate 👍🦘🇦🇺
I have been listening to Jimmy (both with band 'Cold Chisel' and solo) from the 70's to now - Jimmy still performing and his voice is unreal - he is an Australian legend and my favorite singer all time. Whether he was a Pub Rock legend early or more bluesy in his latter career both great. Songs to check out with 'Cold Chisel' - Bow River live 2003, cover of 'Wild Thing' live, cover of 'Change is gonna come' live 1984, OR Jimmy solo - 'Stone Cold' featuring Joe Bonamassa - cover of 'Cry to Me' - 'Soothe Me' with Sam Moore (from Sam and Dave a 60's duo who originally had hit with this song) only released last year - Jimmy's catalogue so huge after almost 5 decades - so so worth it his vocals are just so good
Great reaction. Loved the appreciation for the voices. I'd love to see to react to 'John Farnham & Jimmy Barnes When Something Is Wrong With My Baby Hey Hey It's Saturday'. John Farnham is an Australian singing legend and the song is another example of two powerful voices blending perfectly (with Diesel on guitar again). Hopefully, it will just be the start of your John Farnham journey. Australians love him.
Jimmy is one of our Aussie rock legends, going way back to the 70s. At 67, he's still rocking. One of the hardest working musicians. All his kids are musicians too. His catalogue is tremendous both solo and with Cold Chisel
Vanetta was also one of the Blackberries who toured with Humble Pie. She is an unsung hero on so many of our favorite records. I seem to recall she might have allso backed up Pink Floyd...
And if you're wondering how come Tina did this with someone from Diwn Unda...possibly her Aussie-born manager, Roger Davies? She filmed a Nad Max (Road Warrior) movie in Australia (she was Auntie Entity), did an NRL or AFL grand final show and this song was used as a theme song for NRL (National Rugby League football) for a few years. So I suspect he had a lot to do with this recording. Also this was originally a Bonnie Tyler song & she has a rasp to her voice (except maybe the very early days; she had surgery & her voice changed) and the arrangements haven't changed much. "Total Eclipse of the Heart" is another of Bonnie's songs.
Check out Soothe Me with Jimmy Barnes and Sam Moore if you want to see another duet with great chemistry between the two of them. Sam’s in his 80s and his voice is awesome.
