That Sea Serpent effect can be really dangerous though. It also can set up the Wyrm and, more importantly, give you information on what your opponent is playing T1
I mean you can also just draw them into more handtraps or board breakers. It's probably just not worth ditching the gate for unless they drolled you or something.

Kaitoptera is the better target nowadays. You can get a search from it and fuse into Horned Saurus to search any field spell in the game while getting an extra normal without committing your first one.
The main idea behind this deck is its already in a good spot thanks to the Fiendsmith and Horus engines and Small World. Dinos, Dragon Link, Yubel, and Fire King are your best choices. Dinos or Dragon Link + Horus enable Apodrakosis the best but you can use 3 Small World in Yubel and Fire King and Yubel and Fire King will simultaneously fulfill Kaiba and Enbas special summoning condition. Because the only card with restrictions Is Ascension Crest and its restriction is only for the rest of the turn you can use Apodrakosis in any deck that can fulfill their special summoning conditions. People can use Apodrakosis to revive Earth Machine by giving it easy access to Verudras and additional interruptions they didn't have before. With the Horus package you can use Dingirsu to protect your continuous spells. The main appeal of Apodrakosis in Yubel is that it give Yubel a floodgate it can use during the opponents turn. Since Enbas' special states sent from hand or deck to grave it'll function no matter how you fulfill the condition which is why Fire King simultaneously enables Enba and Kaiba. In Swordsoul you can use Hakuba and Enba but you don't have good enough enablers for Kaiba. Mitsuba needs you to destroy a monster before it can destroy any monsters with its own effect so doing going first in Swordsoul is almost impossible. Giving Swordsoul a 2nd floodgate to slow things down and having access to Verudras puts in a position where it can be considered tier 1 for sure. Apodrakosis also has synergies with Voiceless Voice.
If all three gates are on the field, the pendulum dragon gets all three effects. Plus the monster related to the corresponding gate gets the once per turn effect too, making it effectively twice per turn for that effect, if you have the pendulum dragon on the field. That's wild

I dont think its a coincidence that there are already cards in Dino and wyrm that both lock and target those exact types of ALL of these, and attributes.
If it gets more support it'll probably be a scale 11 dark dragon pend/ritual that also does "something". They did at least make it open ended enough to include more pendulums with the quick-play not specifically saying Guangba like the field spell does.
That rituals text is kinda messy. Odds are when we get this in the tcg, assuming it was translated correctly, will probably say "Must be ritual summoned by its own effect."
that pend really is pendulum mechanic at its best. how do we make a mechanic that needs spells and monsters jsut make the monster the spell for itself. also can we make high level monster that do something when drawn instead of having to build the entire deck around cheating out the card
It's when cards like this are made that I love pendulum. Ritual pendulums are such a great idea and does something that no other mechanic can do since they are a main deck monster.
I dont think the pend will be hard to search, Refrain and Ostinato can both make BTP with one card and set up a high scale (couplet). Obviously you wouldn't be pendulum summoning this guy, but he's a low scale and you aren't locked until you activate the field spell. There are probably better tech options and you still gotta play all those cards you don't necessarily wanna draw. So I don't think this deck will be strong going second.
I think the main reason why Branded Fusion hasn't been banned in the TCG is that there isn't anything wrong with letting decks that under performing use a engine that makes them better and I think its more about Konami not wanting to many cards that allow decks to make a lot of interruptions for very few draws from Maxx C in Master Duel and the OCG. The TCG is different and likes being able to make 2 or 3 good interruptions where a lot of people in the OCG prefer decks like Tenpai and Fire King.
There's nothing wrong with Fire King, us TCG players like it too. It even has room to receive more support. We quite enjoy interactive decks that disrupt your opponent without outright flloodgating them. Tenpai is quite the opposite, it plays floodgates like Shifter, Koa'Ki Meiru Drago, Heat Wave, and tries to interact with the opponent as little as possible.
@@Flame082 Yeah thats my thing if we were in a format where we could afford to play 3 copies of Cosmic Cyclone and the field spell and their boss monster was the only floodgates they had I could see them being cool. They could be a tier 1 deck that could lose before or during their battle phase I am not opposed to strategies like Tenpai when the battle phase is all their about and they actually have try to get to their main win condition. If deck actually to struggle and fight it out I don't feel like I could be salty no matter if I'm OTKed or not.

The main reason why Branded Fusion is at 1 in OCG and Master Duel is because it allowed decks such as Voiceless Voice to avoid Maxx C to much. I'm not opposed decks using cards like Branded Fusion if they need it to compete but Sanctifier needs banned. Other than formats like Snake-Eyes format Branded has never needed the Gimmick Puppet lock because of its ability as the melting pot of fusion decks to bring most broken pieces from almost all of them together. Sometimes what they have isn't enough so having a Mirrorjade or Dragoon instead of relying on Sauravis which only affects the cards that Caesar affects and not the xyz, link, synchro, or fusion summon of a monster can be helpful. If using other engines what it takes to be able to compete with deck in the game instead of targeted matchups like a rouge deck then by all means I would say go ahead do it if you want to.
U can activate that effect only in your turn tho. It can be cool to do this against multchummys but it's kinda unusual to set up + droll effect reflects also on you
If they would extend the archetype at a later point, i think they would go with a dark dragon pendulum with a scale of 0 or 13. probably as a R10 xyz card. Spaming all those Lv10s basically bags for there to be an in archetype xyz. Adding the fire attribute would make little sense as earth is already linked to the red portal and there is no other fourth color / fifth type on any of the cards released so far. otherwise... maybe some smaller/larger forms of the current 4 monsters?

The gates not being good holds the deck back a lot, but there's room to experiment with the deck. Mission critical is gonna be finding a good searcher for the ritual. Cant get it with Odd-Eyes rev or either of the preparations cards, so currently you gotta run manju/senju as your normal to get going with it. Could also see what the Impcantaions can do for the deck, but if you wanna use the Rank 10 Omni, you'll probably be shying away from Impcantations.
If you can have a top tier deck that has dragon dino and sea serpent. That field card can be set up as a starter Or maybe a good splashable or handtrap that has em. 😅 Bystial?
A Giratina one would be sick seeing as how the ritual is Arceus, or if they want to keep the gen 3 theme going they could give a Deoxys that works with them but the field doesn't search it kind of like how subterror behemoth fiendess doesn't exactly work with the other behemoths.

The field spell can banish giant Rex which than will Special summon itself so you have a Free Level 4, a search to hand and a foolish

Makes it into a 3800 atk beater with all those effects. Not bad at all.
The Mulcharmy's makes the Water one's effect much better if your able to make your opponent draw a big hand~
I like the concept of tri-types. Gives us a lot of flexibility when deck building, and can give older decks a second chance.

Yuanba's third effect + Droll? Your opponent banishes their entire hand. They draw nothing?

These might be a good engine to combine with trancendo dino deck. seems like the same exact monster types too.
I made a custom card thats a level 10 ritual that can ritual summon itself.
