wow, very underrated channel. this video is really nicely put togheter, i hope someday this channel will make it big because i can imagine there is aloot of effort going into these.
You got 15k sub already? I subbed here since 600 subs! Uve come far. Thank you for your english translation of spanish videos that some guy made i forgot his name. They are the best.
Damn I think my first open world was that first GTA. I was shocked at what you could do in the game at that time. Man games have come so far. I remember when games had black streaks for rain.
Your videos seemed so professional. I just had to ignore the subscribe count. Never seen such pro videos with a low amount subscriber. You deserve more man.
I primarily play open worlds. So I decided to search "first open world game", and here I am. Great video, great commentary. Been playing for around 30 years. While Ocarina was not my first Zelda game (that would be LttP in '93 or so), when that piano kicked in... NO JOKE, I got some tears of nostalgia. So I agree, there is no way you could leave it out! Morrowind was my first ES game. Until now, I have actually never seen footage of an earlier one. I am amazed at seeing this '99 Daggerfall footage. I actually have had that game for maybe 10+ years because although I started with the xbox Morrowind, I later purchased the PC one which came with Dagger and another. Admittedly, after EXTENSIVELY passing through Morrowind on console, I bought it for PC to spam it for fun. As with age, time, marriage, children, I probably will never play those previous ES ones. But it was cool to see and hear about how they (or that one anyway) were/was.
youtube recommended me this...thought i was watching some 1.5mil subscribed channel, with that kind of awesome video quality. Love the voice, love the humor, love the pacing of your videos...keep up the good work and i hope you make it 1.5 mil or more someday :DD
You have to add cyberpunk! I know it’s not playable on standard hardware.... But you are “the cutting edge “ and on cutting edge hardware (3090, 10900k and an LG OLED ) this game is unbelievable.
So if 4 days ago this channel had 7k subs and today he sits at 15.7k subs, if one does proper maths then by this time next year..... and....................... if zombies don't force our world to become an open world RPG where we are forced to hunt, stock, and kill our prey, this channel will far surpass the million man mark......
I saw a pretty cool game in the thumbnail and you didn't trick me and showed it. Great video! By the way the game was Mizzurna Falls. The game looked pretty cool.
I grew up with that kind of thing! Lots of NES, SNES, and GameCube/PS2. It was great getting a game that felt like it was a totally finished product, but on the same token if a game had any big issues they couldn't really be fixed.
Awesome video! I was ready to pounce all over your thumbnail for the left side image, as I thought "there are 𝙉𝙊 games in 1981 which look like that"...
Amazing job guys! You really deserve a wider audience. Keep making these high quality videos and more ppl will come. For example "Let's game it out" had 100k subs for years and years and then one day he just popped and now he has 2.28 million subs he got that in like a year or two! I believe you guys can manage that too. Quality over quantity.
The realisation that Zelda:OoT came only one year after GTA. Wow. Also, very curious if you'll include Operation Flashpoint (the original 2001 game, ofcourse) in the next video.
Shadowrun on the Genesis should be on the list! Even though it was fairly small in terms of area to explore/do things in, it's one of the first games I can think of that really had a "do what you want to progress" feel to it. There were procedurally generated missions, different people that gave different types of missions.. you could go into nearly every building.. You could essentially play the game forever and never run out of things to do.
I'm gonna have to make a playlist just for high quality videos like one. Also, did you just do a Hulk quote/threat but with sadness instead of anger?😂 "You're making me (sad), you won't like me when I'm (sad)."
I watched like 3 videos and was wondering why you only have 11k subs Now I guess it’s because you don’t upload regularly :( good luck on growing and I hope we can see more from you in the future!
Is anybody else wanting to play a lot of these older games in place of current options? The kind of games you pay for once and enjoy as long as you want
Shenmue II really executed the great idea 1 had better, namely pacing. But I'd really love to finally see a part 2 of this video. This was an extremely interesting history lesson, I didn't know most of these titles.
While not entirely 'open world', Rowan's 'Mig Alley' [late '90's] did feature a full-scale representation of the Korean peninsula complete with rivers, hills, towns, roads, etc. that could take an hour or two to fly from one end to the other of. I once tried flying north, dodging enemy contact, and seeing how far the map actually went. I ended up well into the mountains in southern China when I ran out of fuel!
Great content. I just discovered your channel and watched all of your vids, and found them to be quite impressive. I haven't been much of a gamer for the past decade or so, but I was part of the generation who played the heck out of the original Zelda and I appreciate that it was included in this video. That said, in many of your other videos, you talk about game mods, or projects in which game developers have updated older games to work with newer hardware and get a bit of a face lift. My question is, where do you find these sort of moded games? Are they trustworthy? Is there a trusted outlet for these games that tests them first and maybe even acts as a gateway for legal and licensing issues that these games might have? I really don't know anything about this, all I ever see are the blockbuster games coming from the usual outlets like Epic or Steam. And besides having a fancy GTX video card, what sort of tweaking do you have to do to your computer to get them to run? (like overclocking etc.)
Thanks a ton! Always really awesome to hear that someone likes what I'm doing. This should be a good source of looking more into modding and such: www.reddit.com/r/GameMods/ As far as the legality of it all goes, it might be a bit of a case-by-case basis, but overall I don't think it's anything to worry about too much. So long as you legally obtained the game itself, and your modding isn't something like enabling cheating in a multiplayer game, you should be good to go! Some games are built with modding in mind, and have simple to use tools to make it as painless as possible. Something like Skyrim might not be a bad place to start- it's got a bunch of well-known mods, and the game is built to accommodate them. Things like overclocking and tweaking are all going to depend on your computer, and what it is you're trying to run. Overclocking can help you get a bit more power out of your GPU and CPU if you know what you're doing, but it's going to be another case-by-case sort of thing. Hope that helps! Thanks again for supporting the channel, and hope you're doin' well. :)
