The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are smartphones designed, developed, and marketed by Apple Inc. They are the seventeenth-generation iPhones, succeeding the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. The devices were announced on September 12, 2023, during the Apple Event at Apple Park in Cupertino, California alongside the higher-priced iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max flagships. Pre-orders began on September 15, 2023, and the devices were made available on September 22, 2023.
The iPhone 15 features a 6.1-inch (155 mm) display with Super Retina XDR OLED technology at a resolution of 2556×1179 pixels and a pixel density of about 460 PPI. The iPhone 15 Plus features a 6.7-inch (170 mm) display with the same technology at a resolution of 2796×1290 pixels and a pixel density of about 460 PPI. Both models have the Super Retina XDR OLED display with improved typical brightness up to 1,000 nits, peak brightness (HDR) up to 1,600 nits, and peak brightness (outdoor) up to 2,000 nits. The Dynamic Island feature is now standard on iPhone 15, replacing the display notch.
The innovative new design features back glass that has color infused throughout the material. A custom dual ion-exchange process for the glass, and an aerospace-grade aluminum enclosure, help make iPhone 15 incredibly durable.
Now the Main camera shoots in super-high resolution. So it’s easier than ever to take standout photos with amazing detail - from snapshots to stunning landscapes.
Want to quickly capture the moment before it’s gone? You no longer have to switch to Portrait mode. If your subject is a person, dog, or cat, iPhone 15 automatically captures depth information. So you can choose to instantly see your photo as a portrait, with an artful blur effect. Or later in the Photos app.
A16 Bionic powers all kinds of advanced features. Like computational photography used for 24MP photos and next-gen portraits. Voice Isolation for phone calls. And smooth performance for graphics-intensive games. All with incredible efficiency for great battery life. No wonder it started as a Pro chip.
