Hello Chris, its not flat because it shares platform with other combustion cars of the group. But my understanding is that they filled the mid tunnel with batteries to take advantage of the space.

Transmission tunnel on the Polestar 2 is because underneath it's a Volvo XC40 which is not a dedicated EV platform - and it has ICU design plus, being a Volvo it will also have crash structure in that middle box (part of the SIPS).
1000% agree about the lights! Same issue in my Volvo, no way to see which lights are on.
Seat comfort seems to be subjective. Kris Rifa said the Nappa seats are one of the best.
The bump is because they used the same platform with a gas engine. Also they added more batteries which is in that bump

The lights. Same with my Skoda Superb. Not able to tell whitch lights are one, so in case of fog i just turn the knob, just to be sure.
I have ordered an Enyaq 85, it is due end of august. Does it indicate the light status?
I had the front wheel drive version as an upgrade to a rental for one day, and in general I enjoyed the car. I thought it handles well, I didn't have any issues with finding a good driving position, but I'm not as tall, so no issues. I didn't feel the issue you mention about the steering getting strange around the middle position. Maybe that's linked to some settings, or an issue with that car. However, you fail to mention the pretty bad turning circle, close to 12m, it's not good in town and narrow streets. Otherwise a very enjoyable car, possibly an interesting option as second hand. At least an alternative to Tesla and BMW...

Batteries (modules stacked 2 high) and wiring go up the middle. Now a bit older and a shared platform so this is to be expected.

That middle console sucks big time. Its not practical at all.
And the armrest needs to go over the cup holders to be usefull.
