I bought a 2008 Road King Police bike from Daytona HD. Has the 103 motor and 6 speed trans. Had 392 miles on it.I love it . Never let me down after all these years.
It's an option under 20k. I would say if you aren't dead set on HD, you get more with a Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager. Under 20k, full touring package including radio and cruise. 5 years manufacturer warranty. Edit: I just saw your reply to similar comment. Yes, it's a little twitchy compared to a HD, but it's not a deal breaker for most people. If they really are bothered with it, an Ivan tune will take care of it. I've put about 12K on my 23 and couldn't be happier. The wife loves the back seat on it. She went from rarely going anywhere for more than an hour to making the 1200 mile round trip to ride the Dragon without getting sore. I have to beg her to stay home just to get some quiet time now.
I know the Voyager. I sure wish they'd use better shocks for suspension. If I wasn't set on an Indian in my future I'd probably go that way. I currently have a Vulcan 1600 that I've done bunch of mods to. I enjoy riding it. I also have a 14 victory Vision this bike is a joy! Try and get a test ride on the Voyager at a dealer. Won't happen. That's why I'm on a Vision. Those kawi dealers are retards!
HD Police vehicles are very affordable. Bought a new 1995 FXRP FOR $5,500, great bike and first year for the Evolution motor, HD Police motorcycles are a very good way to get a Heavy Weight V-Twin! Great video Jerry!
I got a ‘22 Road King police in black. I bought it as a leftover in ‘23 for $19000. Police bikes also don’t carry the $1,000 “inventory tax” the other touring bikes have. I also paid no freight or prep either. $19k plus tax. Harley police bikes are the only way to go for new. The Road King has no heated grips. I really want a Green/White Electra Glide Police.
Another GREAT! segment Jerry. I agree with you 1000%. Personally, I love the traditional look of the police bikes and the '23 and older Touring bikes. I've heard nothing but horror stories about the '24 Road and Street Glides. Everyone I know who owns a '23 CVO or a '24 SG or RG are having reliability issues. I don't even like the way the '24's look! Great Job Jerry, keep up the great work!
Your nose is brown man… and the only problem I’ve had with my ‘24 RG is not enough sunny days to ride in western WA. It’s OK to not want to embrace change… maybe you should go buy the black ‘24 RG that Jerry captioned in this video. Oh wait… it’s not a ‘24. The blinkers sticking out the side of the fairing give it away. 😂😂😂
I have my 93 FXRP, that probably as close as I’ll get. But she does keep the lunatics at bay, white bike, black bags & fairing. They’ll line up across the freeway until one gets close enough to see the Antique plate.
Wish it was possible in Australia Jerry. Police ride BMW s here. Fortunately l was able to buy a 2018 115th Anniversary Heritage Softail classic 114. It was quite expensive. My first Harley. Took me 30 years to finally afford it. Cheers from Melbourne Australia.
Cross shopping......any Harley with a $4K grom (@ 3:44mins) -that one got me going🤣 They do make fun second bikes to an HD to be fair -but I wouldn't recommend them for primary use or taking one on any hwy at 70mph+😜

I've been seeing left over 2022-2023 BMW R18 touring bikes for well under $20k. I'm not a huge fan of the jugs on that motor, but its a lot of bike for the money.
Hi gerry, iv watched many of your videos and whenever you talk about police bikes and owning a police bike you always say they are available only to serving or retired police men/women. All you need to do is show your credentials. In this video you appear to say that isn't strictly true and ANYONE can purchase a police bike from a dealer. Do I have that wrong?
The Voyager is a nice bike for the money but it hasn't changed in 20 years. And it still has the same driveability problems it had 20 years ago. The competition has long passed it by.
@@motorman857 , the Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager1700 came out in 2009. I owned a 2010 from New for 60,000 miles. In 2010 I chose it over a 2010 Road Glide. In 2016 I traded for a Rushmore Road Glide Ultra because Kawasaki never improved the bike. I did gold valve emulators and springs up front and the rideability problems were cured.
@ , but it isn’t at the same level of any of the Rushmore or M8 Road Glides. I considered replacing mine with another, but there were so many advantages to the Road Glide that I couldn’t ignore. Since I could afford it I bought one and zero regrets. I like to be able to remove the tour pack and I like the built in navigation. I like that I can buy individual parts for the bike like a hinge for the tour pack or saddlebags. Even a new tour pack lid which you can’t do with the Kawasaki. The Voyager is a good bike, but not a great bike. Most dealers don’t even bother to put one on the floor these days.
@@beotaxi, do a Google search for police uniform supplies. However, they will be very expensive and many have no armor or zip out liners. The one I'm wearing in the video has armor and a zip out liner and is a soft leather and costs about 250 bucks vs 500 to 900 from a police supply company.

$20k???? Try under $12,000. Just sold my 2018 RoadGlide with 40,000 miles for $8,700. And I started at $12,000. But for $9,000, $300 out of pocket, I picked up a 2018 Sport Glide with a few thousand miles. A new Harley for me. For $300 total investment. The iconic and HUGE NYC Harley dealership CLOSED its doors a few months ago. These bikes are basically worth about 50% of what loyal Harley riders (like myself) believe they are. Price collapse as the baby boomers die off or age out. Next year these bikes will be worth even less and several more dealerships are in trouble already. $20,000. Lol.
