I like the somewhat modified format, especially Part I. Without showing all of the work, but showing specific parts, it goes smoother for us viewers, and the progress is palpable. It shows that you can start with a totally rusted-out tired hulk, and bring it back using straightforward techniques and a few purchased parts, if you have the skill set and the understanding. So for those automotive lovers who want to see how to make a sow's ear into a silk purse, this is the channel! Also, with interspersed shots of Upper Management, it keeps us apprised of who works for whom, so that we don't see all of this dedicated work in isolation.

Yes, I have laid in burning rust and wondered where it went wrong. Sigh.
That door fits better than most new ones now and certainly better than that old one ever did. Kudos.
I love how your other truck is good for removing shrubbery too.
So.. we had 2 of the 5 Carter twins (?) in this video. I was trying to figure out which one is more over the edge but I believe it's a tie.
Good grief! At 9:52 he has 3 hands. I knew he was an alien. That explains SO much.
That Shed by the Tracks guy is relentless so watch out for us older folk. We can be sneaky.
    Thanks for the video, Kyle.
It was a great distraction while waiting for Hurricane Lee to pass overhead. Sorry. It's now identifying as a "post tropical storm". That means it will be down to 110kph when it lands here.

You always say your not making it perfect and then you pretty much make it more perfect than anybody else. I started taking apart my 53 3100 this week for a frame off restomod drag and drive build. When I bought this truck 43 years ago people said I would never do anything with it. Never is a long time. Thanks to you I'm going to do my own body work. It's not in that bad of shape. So if I screw it up I'm holding you personally responsible and the hounds will hunt you down and lick you from head to toe. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Best wishes to the kids.

Yes, I do find myself quite often under a rusty truck rolling in the debris. My wife says it my natural habitat! I just picked up a 65 f350 that's in pretty good shape! I drove it home:) Don't worry I still will have to do the door, cab and fenter corners😊 OK, some floor repairs as well. Six months and several thousand dollars and she'll be good as the other crap I work on. It will look nice next to my 64 F100!

Yes another great video, but I do agree that when things go smoothly you do start wandering what’s going on. But when you get past that feeling you just have to take the win when it comes cause you don’t know when the next one will come around again. The hack for welding on the back side of the rocker panel is a great idea, don’t know how many times I’ve seen rockers welded on the front side and not getting finished the right way. As far as the drawing why didn’t you submit your entry under one or both of the cats names they would have never known it was you. Later

When I fit a door up to a 63-66 C10 A and B panel, first I make sure to replace the bushings on the hinges so that any sag is taken out of the hinge. I also replace these bushings pretty much anytime I buy or fix up almost any truck or classic car. It makes the door fit correctly (if someone hasn't messed with the hinge by readjusting it or bending it) and takes any squeak out of the hinge so it closes like factory new. The original 63-66 C10 hinge bushing was plastic and would last 3.5 seconds in most instances. Dorman makes a number of shouldered oillite bronze replacement bushings that work well, and you can get them in most parts stores. A LITTLE lithium or sticky grease will help them last a long time. Use the original hinge pins, they are hardened and shouldn't show any wear, they are quite a bit shorter than the Dorman universal replacement ones and work/look better.

😊Another great video, am learning alot. Had a chance to see a 37 pick up. It was pulled into a small parking lot with a gas can by it, so I stopped to see if there anything I could do. He had called for a truck to haul it back to his shop. Said he just bought it and he lost spark and feul pump wasn't pumping. Otherwise the truck was absolutely perfect looking to me, so I had to ask him how much does it cost,he said the owner wanted $38,000- sothey made a deal 20 grand cash and he fixed up some VW bug the owner had, somewhere between 10-20 grand. Thought you might be interested in what prices are down here on the Connecticut coast. We're not all wealthy, the only way I'll get that truck is keep watchin your channel and build one myself. Take care.

    • @CarterAutoRestyling

Yup, that's why I left the door on so I could test fit the rocker panel again before final welding it in place. There's enough layers of structure to hold its shape while welding, so nothing moved in this case, but it's still a good idea to recheck everything multiple times.

Mate, you've had your ears lowered! Nice look! Now you AND your cab bottom resemble a rocker. I reckon as far as attaching panels is concerned, more weld = more better. Why waste abrasives? I adopt the same philosophy for hot glue.

Kyle, your Monty Pythonesque humour reminds me of a kid I went to school with in Lumsden.

Really enjoy the rust repair. Your skills are admirable. The rant, not so much.

Kyle has joined the human race. Half thought I would see you pushing a shopping cart around town after this build. Just kidding...

I've seen some pretty sharp dressed hobos lately, so there's still hope that I'll end up downtown with a shopping cart

Kyle must have gotten his royalty check from TH-cam. He blew it on a haircut? What about jeans or shoelaces? There’s always next month.

Hello Kyle. You really should stop smoking ( plaid ).
I think you should team up with Bad Chad for the 2-4 door conversion.
    Love the new look BTW
