- In this video, I continue to abuse...i mean TEST, the cheap Chinese mini excavator, cleaning up sides of a logging road, burning some debris, cleaning up an old fallen down barn and of course running into plenty of problems and broken equipment!

I bought a ratchet wrench to make loosening and tightening the tension wheel easier and so much faster.
I carried it and a 16MM wrench with me until the track stopped stretching.
That’s what I need to get. Good idea

A trick we used back in the day on the belts when we blew them off not too badly was to stick a few suitable pieces of wood between the pins and run the track motor. The wood would compress/crush, but lift the belt and let it self align again. Our machines were a fair bit larger (40-50 tons) but perhaps worth trying next time as it is a very quick solution when it works.
Iv tried that, the relief is set to low to push the track around the wood
@@99Projects That was a surprise. We carried like 5 pieces of wood strapped to the machine and did not relief any track tension. Inserted the pieces as the track was moved forward with ground contact. Wood liftet the pins over the wheels. (I dont know the proper english words for these components. Sorry.)
Perhaps it works if the track tension is reduced but then it is not a so very quick fix anymore :-)

We hold the log over the bed of the truck then cut it into fire size. It drops in the bed. One less time to handle.
Someone should take bottle jacks, replace the valve with a grease nipple and sell new track tensioners for those things.
That bigger extevator has so much play on bucked that it looks like Parkinson style xD

ive always had better luck putting track back on roller end first then sprocket end that way track has something to grab hold of on sprocket end..works for me...
Mine did same thing. Its because need adjustment when you first hear it slipping. Losen up and then put back on

Another nice video! Although I winced when I saw you putting your foot in the tracks trying to get them back on. I hope you have steel toe boots. I have a 1.5 Ton mini-ex with a Yanmar engine and have thrown the tracks 3 times. First time it took me 2 hours to get it back on. Then I used a 6 foot pry bar with one end flat and the other pointed. Much easier because I could use the ground for leverage. Also, mine has the hydraulic piston tensioner to loosen the tracks. Only took me 30 minutes the last time. Seems to happen when I try to turn on large gravel, which gets stuck between the tracks and the sprockets.
It gets easier every time it seems. Iv only thrown a track when stuff gets stuck in it or like here I was crawling around on debris.
just shove a piece of wood small enough to fit inside two ribs of the track... move the track with the wood stick up to the with wheel and youll be able to slide the track in place
Iv put load's of tracks on. You need to push the iduller back. That involves undoing the grease nipple in the track frame. They are the easy one's.
These chyneesium minis don't have a grease tension system, it's a threaded rod like an old school cat.

Why u burning all that wood, save 4 heat or something
Just think of all the kindling you could of made out of that wood. People would make money out of that. Over here in the UK. Money 💰 you could use on your building project.

You was talking about making the thumb hydraulic. A guy on YT did that. watch?v=L-Z7GttRkY0. He bought the whole assembly with thumb from ebay. All would be needed is a two way cylinder and two lines. The control for his auxiliary was down near the left foot pedal.
do you sell the firewood, or is it for your own personal use?
I have been looking at these and thinking about getting one. I have seen several videos of people taking about the track coming off what would you recommend to lessen the chances of that happening? Maybe like using the boom to lift the front end before turning the machine?
Yea I mean one thing you can count on with tracks is there going to come off at some point. Keep ‘em tight try to lift the machine before turning but reality is, works gotta get done. Just be prepared to put it back on

What makes the pilot controls on side superior to the Chinese excavator with them in front?
Just easier to use and more comfortable for the op. I also thing they are smoother to run

@@davida6383 yep. And just the position of the op is way more comfortable with the pilot. I know they cost more but I think it’s worth it. And their awesome machines, holy cow Iv gotten so much work done with mine

While I enjoyed your practical demo, there are a myriad of variable mini excavators that all look the same. A name and model in the description would be very helpful as we try to compare one from another.

All Chinese machines has track problems! I see it so often! Pay way less but have more problems on job sides or pay more and have less problems! Of course any machine could be defective! I’m leaning more to branded machines!
Iv had a track fall off twice. I’d hardly call that track problems especially considering how badly I abuse that machine. Iv gotten tons of work done with it. Branded machines are nice but for the price you cannot beat it. Iv demonstrated that in my excavator videos.

Sorry guys, but that doesn't look very professional! I think it is better to first familiarize yourself with the technology and how to use it in order to be able to work economically. If, according to the manufacturer, you tension the chain of the mini excavator with 1cm of air up and down (measured in the middle of the drive), you won't lose it constantly. These are just well-intentioned tips from someone who had to learn hard because no one gave him good advice back then. Good luck for the future, greetings BM 74
I appreciate the video. However, we need to stop supporting these chinese brands. I almost made the mistake of buying one for price and decided to get a John Deere. Let's keep the meat on more American tables. On top of that, the John deere 17G is by far more attachment friendly.
I can buy 3 of these machines for every one 17g. I also bought this from a local guy who ran an excavation company so my money stayed local.
@@99Projects Good to hear. I've experimented with Chinese machines, I hate the gas ones. If you've run a comparative deer commercially you see a big performance and reliability difference. I'll make a video when I have time.
@@a-veteranlandscapesitework2413 iv run the name brand ones, they are definitely a little nicer to run but it’s not cost effective for me to own one. These machines fill a gap
