    Thx for posting. I was considering this with my daughter next month but I don't think my 60 y.o. right knee can handle the punishment. Excellent hike with your sons.

    Climb Algonquin. Shorter hike. Second highest. Much more spectacular view.

    Well done, Marcy is a long one. It is more rewarding with your kids. I did it this summer with my wife and sons. Great views, great memories.

      Thanks, it was rough for our first mountain climb. We are already planning for our next one. There is no feeling like being on top of a mountain!

    This was a hard trail, just so much elevation gain, 1 mile would take 45min-1hr. The views tho make it all worth it

    Question which is the best trail to use to climb to the top with least amount of rocks ?

    • @BackyardWaterGarden
      @BackyardWaterGarden  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was only aware of the trail we took to get to the top of Marcy. There are rocks everywhere. Most of the trail past Marcy dam is an old creek bed. It was a never ending boulder staircase. Good luck to you if you decide to make the climb. It is worth it!

      @@LubaLuba1 after. Many mountains in the Adirondacks are like that, even very small ones. Huge rocks you have to climb up even high on the mountain

      We used google maps, although coverage was hit or miss in the mountains. Trail Entrance Location Coordinates (google maps): 43.108471, -74.368059

      I did it yesterday. We started from Heart Lake and went up the Van Hoevenberg trail. It's about a 15 mile day trip.
