- Hello sailors and welcome back on board. Join us as we continue our journey around the UK on our Catalina 400 with our Welsh terrier Captain Yewy. This week we leave Stonehaven for the tidal harbour of our Arbroath. We eat some dodgy fish and chips, buy Smokies and enjoy a lovely walk along the cliffs.

Love your videos and thanks for the observations about fish and chips around the UK. It is interesting that you are visiting coastal towns and a lot of them can't figure out how to cook fish and chips properly. Fascinating.
Thank you so much for the kind words. They are our thoughts exactly too! Fish and chip prices have doubled on average over the last twelve months meaning they’ve gone from something you’d buy as a cheap snack to something you have on occasion. So it’s really disappointing when you pay good money and they’re absolutely terrible, as in Arbroath! 😂

I think the best Fish and Chips unless they have gone off the boil are near where you live Seaton Sluice .
No matter where I go I always ask for a stripped fish.( Thin batter ) It is less soggy but more important even though they have fish ready mine gets cooked fresh. Guess you will be past Anstruther by now but they are fairly good and often on youtube also.
Seaton Sluice are always great! One of the best for sure. Unfortunately because of the low spring tide we couldn't get into Anstruther, otherwise we would have gone because we'd heard good things about the fish and chips too. It's my uncle's favourite.
You forgot 'Lemon Puffs' they are lush😋
Clearly having produced the equivalent to the AA Guide for fish and chip shops, they need to go around again but this time investigating biscuits 😃
Faye’s never had a lemon puff, but I definitely remember them! Top biscuit! Will be keeping the eyes peeled this week in the supermarket 😀
