Yes, Moonbyul did write most of her raps and recently became the most copyright credited female artist. She may have small parts or lines, but what I like about her style is her flow and tone. You don't get to hear same flow from her, and she would always play with her tone (growls, whispers, and emotions) on her lines.

I agree that the shots were too quick.
Mamamoo were on the Zach Sang show, and talked a bit about the writing process. Hwasa has a behind the scene for the making of the Maria album, and Guilty Pleasure.
The members are more involved in writing/composing for their solo projects these days. Back in the day, they contributed more to their songs/title tracks. Moonbyul and Solar DID contribute to 1,2,3 Eoi! this time around though!

Illella is the 2nd Mamamoo title track based on a reggaeton beat. Egotistic was the first. As you said there's a lot of fusion in kpop blending several different genres and eras of music and you'll often hear mashups of very different styles in Mamamoo songs where, for example, bossa nova meets r&b or big band jazz meets 60's soul. Illella adds a distinctly kpop and uniquely Mamamoo sound on top of the reggaeton rhythm.
From the beginning Mamamoo were known as "self-sown" idols because they were involved in all aspects of their career from songwriting, vocal arrangements and choreography to styling and MV concepts. Moonbyul writes almost all of her rap verses and as others have mentioned she has the most songwriting credits of any female idol. You'll often see Solar and Hwasa credited as co-writers of lyrics and sometimes for music composition as well. Wheein has the least amount of songwriting credits for group songs but she's heavily involved in writing her solo stuff, as are all the members when they go solo. With that said, their three main songwriters over the years have been RBW co-CEO Kim Dohoon, the co-ed team Cosmic Sound & Cosmic Girl, and former RBW songwriter/producer Park Woosang. Kim Dohoon is a legendary kpop songwriter who's written songs for everyone from AOA to BTS. He's the one who assembled Mamamoo with the idea of forming a girl group based on their vocal talent, performance skills and creativity rather than one of the typical kpop girl group marketing concepts such as cute, innocent or girl crush. The members have usually worked in collaboration with one of those three songwriting producers to craft their music and occasionally with other Korean producers. What you'll almost never see is a MMM song composed by a team of western songwriters like you do with other kpop groups. Paint Me is the only MMM song that comes to mind that was primarily written by western songwriters.
Unfortunately there isn't a lot of footage available of Mamamoo's creative process. Sometimes you get glimpses of it, as in Solar's recent Solarsido episode where she shares her guide vocal for an early draft of Illella with different lyrics and stripped down instrumentation. One of the best looks at the method behind their madness is the MV Commentary video for their 2017 song Yes I Am, where they explain their "cute bluffing" concept for the MV and the meaning behind some of the lyrics, such as why Hwasa's iconic line "Me, me, 4 with the sun" is her clever way of saying I love myself.

This is my fav Mamamoo song to date. Imo it has reggaeton (maybe even cumbia) vibes. Def caught my attention for that reason. Girls are beautiful as always, and yeah, my opinion still stands, they're the best gg.
