Mamamoo to me, they are just IT! Their beautiful vocals and presence is just different from the rest of the other general female groups that sounds similar. Like BTS, they stand on their own when it comes to music production. They don't cater to what is more popular and trendy sounds and styles for K-Pop female groups. I think they are highly underrated artists. I recommend you to check out more of their older songs and you'll understand how vast and versatile they are. Look forward to the next one.😊
You picked up on a few things but didn't put it all together, which isn't surprising since the visuals are kinda overwhelming. I was the same on first view and had to watch the MV several times before I got the concept. Gogobebe is the final title track in MMM's four album series 4 Season 4 Color and imo you have to understand some of the 4S4C concepts to put Gogobebe into context. Each title track explores a stage in a relationship and is represented by a color and a season. Gogobebe is the White/Winter song and the stage of being unattached. Like the seasons the relationship stages are cyclical so Gogobebe follows up on the fall song Wind Flower and the stage of heartbreak after a breakup. As Gogobebe starts the members are in a winter of emotional hibernation where they're dormant and down in the dumps, as we see as each member is introduced - Solar is housebound, Moonbyul is stuck in the rut of the past with old technology and a stifling office environment, Hwasa can't even get dressed or make it out of the bathroom, and Wheein's self-esteem is so low that even the kids don't respect her and play a prank on her. The kids represent innocence and vitality and the sense of mischievous fun that the girls have been missing in their lives and need to rediscover. The winter of their discontent has been a necessary stage they had to go through but spring is just around the corner and they're ready to move on, break out of the various ruts they've been in and make a fresh start and that's what we see in the MV. Gogobebe is a more fun party song than you might have expected from Mamamoo but there's a always a method to their madness and this song is much more than just an effort to make a pop hit.
