    Using a 1 1/4" hole saw, I drilled right on top of the sticker with colors. Found the sensor was right inside the hole inserted in the aluminum coils. Removed the old one with a pair of needle nose pliars and placed the new sensor in the same location as the old one. Closed the hole in the a/c box using the removed section of plastic from the hole saw, plugged in the sensor and saved myself $2500 bucks :-) Took about 15 minutes!

    Thanks so much! I replaced everything in this truck except the evap. Temp sensor. And when I replaced the a/c core I put the evap. Temp sensor back in it and didn't think to replace it. It's tricky to install, I was afraid I would damage the core becauseyou have to push it betweenthe fins on the core. But I'll install it correctly when I have down time. I just won't overuse the a/c. Thanks so much this was a huge help!

    Couldn't you feasibly drill a new hole in the air handler box and install the sensor and use some RTV sealer to seal it. Would that serve as the same purpose as remounting it on top.

      Very true - from our perspective. However, from the company's view, that (type of thing) is simply job security for their entire industry.
      If only there was a legit choice, meaning one brand that actually gave a flip, but they ALL have the same thing going on.

      This truck also has no ac cabin filter. For some odd reason. So you’ll destroy the evaporator very easily if you work and drive in dusty areas or always have the cabin air recirculate button turned off.

    Does tis sensor has anything to do with a/c blower not blowing out at full speed? it works at all speeds but do out think it is pushing out full air speed.

    • @ostsaz
      @ostsaz  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If the evaporator is freezing over this could cause lack of air flow. This could technically be caused by the sensor not seeing the correct temperature although we have not run in to this before. Most likely there is something else going on like the Cabin air filter is plugged or the fan or wiring is failing or the evaporator is plugged with debris.

    • @burnjack291
      @burnjack291 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ostsaz Thanks for reply. I have took another look and looks like the last speed is not working , all working but when turning to the last one witch supposed to be the highest speed will not work is the same speed as the one before that. I suspect that something maybe up with the blower motor resistor maybe..?

    • @mbutmunch6

      Yep I've had it on mine for a year now and it still works fine. It does freeze up some so we try to cycle it on a long trip but if it freezes we turn it off and leave the fan on high, once the air comes out strong again turn it right back on for full cold. Also so I made the slot hole for the front of the box with my soldering iron, perfect little slot and siliconed it in!!!
