Love your SHORT but great videos . You don't waste my time like other reviewers. Your choice of music is uncanny. How each speaker presents the the brass horn cluster so all the horns are separate instruments. Very nice job . You've made it difficult to choose a speaker out of the 3.
Excellant descriptions. Others may be more detailed and accurate, but I would tend to leave the Spendors on for hours. Another Proac model you may like is the Response Model 2... similar size to Studio 100.
I’ve been listening to my Celestion Ditton 33 lately (my day-to-day speakers are Magnepan 3.7i) so quite a bit of difference. What a joy to listen to the Celestion even with their shortcomings, now I’m tempted to order a pair of Spendors! Thanks for keeping up these comparisons.
The Spendors sounded best to my ears. Ha on a cheap phone but I still felt the warmth. BTW what's that track. I loved it probably a good workout for my vintage Kef Carlton 2 that I inherited. They have that extra Kef flat bass unit that I find overpowering but they are 40 years old so are probably not working perfectly. 👍
I do love the Spendor’s, they sound even better on their new stands.. latest video on this channel. Track is from Bullitt soundtrack album to the motion picture by Argentine composer, pianist and conductor Lalo Schifrin, recorded in 1968 and released on the Warner Bros. label
On my Proac Response 3.8 the offset tweeter is supposed to be set up with the tweeters on the inside of the drivers. Is it supposed to be the opposit on the studio 100?
I am a bit confused and may need clarification. I do not intend my comment to be critical and I greatly appreciate your valuable efforts. This particular track includes trombone, which happens to be very clearly audible when the track is played directly, as I tested it via good headphones connected to a good DAC/amp while streaming it on Amazon HD. However, for some reason (and TH-cam's compression certainly contributes to it) this particular trombone timbre does not reproduce well on TH-cam, although it is still quite audible here: th-cam.com/video/PD-UsO6O2xo/w-d-xo.html - by comparison, your track here seems to greatly "mud-out" the trombone. Is it possible you need a better microphone for your tests?
I way prefer the ribbon tweeter; much smoother, better integration and I like the depth. None of them impress at the bass level. Would like to have heard classical guitar as that is my instrument for 40 years. Good stuff.
What a coincidence !!! All of the speakers apparently need to have same distance to the back wall.... 😂 Your completely disqualified, honey... 😂😂😂 So, which of the producers gave you some money for this review ? Go find a new hobby....
Hahaha I bought and own all of those speakers, so I kinda paid myself or charged myself. As for distance, they remained equal for fairness of test… on TH-cam. Thanks for watching
@@dittonworks So you didn't understand that fairness is not giving the SAME distance but giving the RIGHT distance, for it's different with each speaker...? This is Hifi-basics, dear ! 🙈 P. S. : I'm pretty sure these speakers are your own ! 3 of comparable size ! EVERYBODY does so ! I have five of same size and same type ! 😂
@@dittonworks I joked when saying everybody is collecting speakers like stamps. I suggest you did'nt understand anything of what I was trying to explain.... Very nice comparison! The differences between the speakers are well captured.

Great demo
Nice review, I will put a link to you channel on some of my speaker reviews over the next few days

Great comparison, thanks. Would be nice to hear that ribbon above the more controlled bass of the ProAc/Spendor.
Fantastic video. ProAc wins.
Superb review. 700se's win for me.
Polypropylene. I liked the Proacs. The percussion jumped out and had snap
Indeed. The ProAc’s are stunning to listen to, I love em.
Good job! Also, you have access to some super gear - green with envy.
Thank you..
Big speaker shoot out coming up soon
👍, thanks to Michael Yates for suggesting your channel well done thanks for sharing your knowledge with your subscribers.
I had the pleasure of meeting Michael, great guy.
Thanks for watching 👍
thanks for great video
Love to be there.
The ProAcs are good, but I love the Spendors! The Celestions sound muffled on top to me compared to the other two
I have now Graham Audio ls 3/5, better my old
ProAc Response D One.
Spendors, more musical because more midrange presentation, thanks
My default test music is string quartet, not too many systems can play string quartet well. Try that next
Interesting review. Try unwinding a few turns on the bass inductor to raise the mids.
Love my studio 110.
Excellent video
Thanks 😊
Big shoot out video soon, featuring the ProAc’s again
ProAc Studio 100’s✌

@@Gez492 no. I did that for personal preference.
I sat quite near field
on warm book shelf speakers which ones would go for for jazz vocals clean acoustic
Either ProAc Falcon Spendor Harbeth etc etc Russell K’s
@@dittonworks thanks i am looking for a nice preamp around 300 to 400 with my rotel , i have full range

Excellent observation. I do require a better microphone for tests.
However The link you’ve posted is an alternative version buddy..
@@dittonworks I appreciate the reply. I got confused by not listening through the whole track. You are doing very useful tests. Thank you.
Luv em all, but through my fones the spendors take it.
I feel we are hearing your room boosting the bass, sounds boomy on all with the first speakers the worse.

Your speaker placement should be away from the wall. From these three, the Spendor sounded most natural.
Hi could you let me know the name of the frist speaker i cant find it, i liked the sound cheers, keep up the good work.
