Hi thank you very much for your alway great comparisons one issue often overlooked in small speakers is their mass i.e. weight Increasing mass moves the box resonances down in frequency and possibly below the speaker working range The sa1 at 5.5 kg are just too light Look at how heavy are the very best minimonitors around Even 20kg/each a light cabinet will resonate just in the delicate midrange blurring the sound I do no what to sound extreme but take the drivers and xover of the sa1 and place them in the 5 kUSD/each Magico A1 cabinet and the sound will be quite similar Maybe i little lighter on bass but possibly even better in the midrange The cabinet is so important and people dont realize that I made some experiments and i was shocked by the differences I mean same drivers xover and different cabinet Like night and day There is a good test to check for box resonances Let the system warm up At a certain point in absence of resonances the speakers should seem like disconnected from the system and the sound completed detached from the boxes I love Spendor speakers a lot Like all best british speakers by the way

It’s the other way around. A bass heavy speaker won’t be a problem with classical musical, since there is not much to exaggerate in this area.

How would SL600 compare to BW805D4?

Hi ... i got my LS6f last Weekend 🤩🤩🤩 and its Mind blowing. OK old Spendors 25/1 (german version of S20 and reworked 2017) sounds very good too, but the LF is much better with the LS6f. I dont know i sell my old Spendors or not.😊 thanks for you good Videos, they help me with my Choice to buy the LS6f

Hi, I just messaged you on your other video. This looks closer to what I have. Are the A1, A2, and A3 tweeters the same? I have the A3's and I blew one tweeter. The frame is oval shape. The metal dome is fine. There's just no more sound. What is the best way to remedy this problem? Thank you

I just blew my celestion A3 tweeter. It's similar to yours but mine is metallic. Where can I source this repair kit? I'm in US. Please and thank you 😊

Q Acoustics concept 50 has more punch in the low end.

I run my mistral with rega p9 6b600 arm. Zero surface noise. Great bearing on the P9. agree with the HF and love this amp.

Are your speakers bolted to the stand? If not how are the speakers attached to the stand?

Where on earth can you find those binding post mods/screws? I can't find them anywhere and would really like a pair to attach Banana plugs to my DL6s instead of bare wire. 1:59

I am a self employed gardener. One of my customers was having a clear out and asked if I wanted to take a Bang and Olufsen Beomaster 2000 vintage hi fi separates system. I remember back in the day they were something I could never afford. I didn't have room for it so I decided to put it on eBay hoping I might get a few quid for them. I was very surprised when a bidding war immediately started and I got £300 for the lot. No one even asked if the stuff worked and I think I could have got more if I'd left it in longer or promoted the listing. Pleasantly surprised.

I have the Monitor 1. What a surprise of good sounding mini speakers. Have had a bunch small speakers. ProAc 1 sc 5 times, Dali Menuet Se and so on. These as a used buy is a small diamond.

Proac low volume champ.

Had Cyrus, Luxman, and the Accuphase E280. Next week I get the E4000. Been waiting 3 months for them to get stock. Accuphase does vocals beautifully.

Thank you for your review. I have a pair Spendor FL6 and they have Sp3/1 woofers. The woofer surrounds are gone and I wonder if you have any suggestion for having them repaired. I'm based in Italy but I could ship the woofers.

I just got the Monitor One, a friend recommended to me. I scratch my head ! What a fntastic speaker. Even in direct comparison to my PMC twenty5.22. I got them for 40 Euros here in germany. Now thats a bargain 😅

Great review. I have just got a pair of the original SP2. In your opinion, what amp would you recommend for these speakers? Currently got mine hooked up to a 10w valve amp made by my grandad in 1968. Sounding sweet but it’s i. A small space and I want to move them into a larger room so an amp with a bit more power required. Thanks

spendor better . i own the Harberth but sadly woofer blown ,cost thousands to replace & found its make of cheap plastic frame ,even one counter nut is loosen during removal ,the woofer holder by 4 bolts & cabinet is relatively cheap made from inside ..😢now i know its a mistake

you should check out the Revival Atalante 3 against these. It is better than the Evoke 20, but I wonder by how much.

Thanks for this. Do the supertweeters and speaker sensitivities need to match? My Altec Lansings are 98db which, if that is the case, significantly narrows the field. The other potential issue is that the supertweeter would be quite some distance from the main tweeter, unlike with your Spendors.

I recently listened them on my local dealer and we compared them with the old SHL5. These speakers blew my socks off. I couldn’t believe the sound from these stand mount speakers.

You can buy the Atoll IN200 Signature with a DAC (DA200) build in as an option. Is that DAC also good?

On my Proac Response 3.8 the offset tweeter is supposed to be set up with the tweeters on the inside of the drivers. Is it supposed to be the opposit on the studio 100?

The LS2/5a (Chartwell original 15 ohm) was my gateway drug into hifi, as it prolly was for many.
