That aquarium like spring creek was astounding. All the crystal clear Texas water is such a treasure to me coming from Miss where all we had was muddy water.
Such a magical and mysterious area. I'm not sure anyone not from here can see the majesty of the area...Caves visible from the high bridge show evidence of community and peyote use from 3-4 thousand years ago. Absolutely magical, mysterious Texas!!!!! TY for the vid!
Truly enjoy your videos. Langtry is such a cool place to visit. My family and I usually drive out there when we won’t to get out and explore. Always excited to see what new videos you post.
We love going to Langtry but missed the cemetery. We’ll have to walk it more next time. We also tried going to Pandale but we weren’t sure of the gravel road so we turned around. Now we know it’s okay to travel through !!!
I was just near Sheffield about a week ago. Too bad I didn't know about Independence creek preserve until I saw this part of your video. I would have visited that area when I went through Sheffield. The sidewalks along that spring fed creek look a lot like the sidewalks along the San Marcos river where it starts there in San Marcos. Except this spot is 10 times more prettier then that other Spring fed river in San Marcos. I've also been through Langtry many times, I enjoy it every time I stop there.
Thank you so much for taking us with you to visit all the amazing adventures.♥️ Yeah my Forefather (Juan Bautista Chapa) travel this trail in1630 all the way to Santa Fe. On 4:22/12:54, it looks like someone is hiding from you. One the left on the hill.❓
This is a great study for model railroad scenery of west Texas. I had already built a lime stone bluff on my model railroad. I thought I painted it a bit too gray, maybe even a little too dark of a gray. Then when I saw the bluff across from Langtry, I had accidentally gotten it just right.
I lived in New Mexico all of my childhood . The pecos river runs above ground for miles then it goes back underground in NM . It does the same in west texas
In the city of Carlsbad there are 2 dams on that river for flood control .then northwest of carlsbad there is a large man made lake using the pecos river.
I’ve been down there several times. My buddy use to have a ranch near Pandale. Know that if you kayak down a Texas river, the river is public, but most land on each side is Private Property and you’ll be trespassing if you go on land without permission from land owner.
Why are there so many springs all over Texas in such an arid region? Is that just part of the ground water that seeps out? I have seen that many times in Floridian springs, but it's quite fascinating to have this many springs in a desert that can fill an entire river. Even the Devil's river you covered did not even seem to originate far up north and must be solely fed by springs.
that looks amazing! do you know if independence creek has any camping allowed? I couldnt find info on their website, couldnt even find hours of operartion
How far south of Sheffield is that creek you mentioned? 15 miles 5 miles 20 miles? I got to see that some day! & I thought the only thing out there to enjoy was Fort Lancaster...
Across the rio from the bluff you were standing on at the end of your video, allegedly a UFO crash landed there... I dunno. It is documented if you look for it. All that area is one of my old teenage stomping grounds, I got away with soo much crazy stuff; and If i could go back, I'd do it again.
There is a story that in the. Early 1800s a cowboy was attacked by indians and forced to the edge of the cliff that overhung the Pecos River. The indians killed the cowboy and threw his guns etc over the cliff with his body. There could still be his things at the base of a cliff or close to shore yet today.
Folks, it really is worth the time to visit that part of TX.
Beautiful cactus garden.

Thanks very much for the wonderful video, looks lovely and peaceful.
Chicago hears Texas calling, again! That clear water looked delicious. Another good video.
Awesome places! I'm proud to be from around the area! Never been to this part of the pecos! I love it. Gonna check it out! Thanks! 👍
Thanks for stopping by. I'm glad I was able to show you something new.
Me too!

beautiful river and some great camerawork on the kayak!!

That water is liquid gold! Thanks for sharing. 👍😉🇨🇦
You should explore the calvary history not far there in brackettville on the old fort Clark. Las moras springs has water just as clear.
Brackettville is on my list
Calvary is the place where Christ was crucified. I think you mean Cavalry. 🙏
@@stevemelancon6207 oh well !

Love it, Thank you. Got some new places to visit
Beautiful!
You must pick up some streams and washes in those foothils. You can jump across it in NM
Yes, Independence Creek shown in the video is probably the most important one

Nice footage thks
Beautiful scenery! Also, your footage is very stable. Do you use a gimbal?
I don't actually, though I think one might be useful.

Right now the preserve isn't open to the public (covid, check Nature Conservancy website) but you can access it if you stay at Chandler Ranch
Very good very cool and
Informative.
I own 164 acres with 500+ feet of riverfront 1/2 mile downstream from the Pandale bridge. Old Billy
Thumbs up. Is that Pecos Hank doing the narrative?
A major documented trip, Pandale to theRio Grande, 61 miles
Great video. Would love to kayak the Pecos someday.
Thanks for visiting. I can't wait to get back there soon.
The Pecos river is an inner tuber's dream.
Is there a foot path from langtry to the rio grande? About 10 years ago, I couldn't find one without trespassing
Nice! Thank You ....
Please pick me up and take there❤️

23 miles
@@secretsoftexas6872 There's only one road that I know of that heads south. & that's got to be the one going to Dryden.

Is there peyote native around pandale crossing ?? or further south
I would not be able to be in that much water without a fishing pole!
It definitely looks like a great place for that, especially if you move downstream a bit.
Awesome
To the author, you dont know how much I could do your trip.
