  • Testing might sound like a secondary function. You have done the main job, now it’s time to make sure it does what it’s supposed to do. But things get complicated very quickly. Proper testing requires controllability and observability over the interior of finished systems using limited inputs and outputs. This is impossible without having systematic solutions put in place. You have to design your systems with testability in mind. Additional hardware for testing can often account for over a third of total circuit area.
