- Dr. Judy Gooch, a rehabilitation doctor shows how to stretch tight hamstrings on another person. Another Utah Neuro Rehabilitation video called Stretching Legs with Rapunzel shows how to stretch tight hamstrings yourself.
Thanks. This excercise worked to night. Then I walked around the room. The spasticity decreased significantly. My left knee did not lock up. TOMMROW I do this stretch. Before go out side to walk for a while
Which I do every Evening
Will keep you updated

Hi mam I like your video u tech nicely my son have cp ataxia I can try
Mam good video 👍
This is really interesting. The background music is rather distracting though and makes it somewhat difficult to follow. Many thanks.
Thanks for the feedback. I never know whether background music is helpful or distracting.
@@UtahNeuroRehabilitation Yes it must be difficult to strike the balance. You videos are really helpful.
Hya, thank you for your great videos!
one Q: when I, as the physio feel the strain during hamstring stretch; do I hold it or do I ask patient to contract?
That is a very good question and one we do not know for sure. I do like the contract technique. Try both for the particular patient and see how they work.
Can you do a video of stretches for neck spasticity?
I will work on that.
What if the hamstring is too tight and the child cannot keep his legs straight
The leg does not need to be totally straight to be able to stretch it.
How can i do this exercise by not accompaning someone i.e doing this alone

Also, a physical therapist could help you if you have access to one.
