Astros will never announce they’re selling even if they end up making a trade they’ll not call it a sell, but a focus on winning next year. The organization doesn’t tell the media or fans anything, and they also refuse to give in until the hand is forced.
They will cheat fate, bamboozle the press and fans, and never admit defeat. Because it’s a “bidness”. The bidness of winning, above all else, including all the stuff they teach their children: observing the rules, respecting your opponents, and playing fair. Because they don’t believe any of that.
@@andrewsebaugh Everyone agrees that the Stros haven’t played up to their capabilities, but I do enjoy seeing them struggle. As an H-Town native, I still haven’t forgotten how they embarrassed my hometown by cheating their way to the 2017 Series. And they’ve never really owned it.

All that you say is true, but you should also consider the extraordinarily positive impact baseball sports in general have had on the racial situation in this country. I am 60 years old, old enough to remember a time when blatant racism was still a fact of life in everyday America. I can think of no other factor that reshaped views on race the way sports (and in my case, especially baseball) did. The fact is, if you are a little white kid and your hero is Reggie Jackson or Dr. J, it's simply not possible to be a racist. It's poignant that Willie Mays just passed away because he more than just about anyone set the stage for white kids to love black athletes--not just because he and others were great athletes, but because they were great people. So was baseball part of an aweful, unjust system? Of course, but it also did much to make this country change for the better.
I love your comment about the impossibility of being a racist after watching Gibson, Aaron, Mays time after time. I would add that jazz musicians had a similar role - what they accomplished in the teeth of Jim Crow is unbelievable.
@@donaldbucher472 Yes, you more or less read my mind because I was also thinking about all the African American musical artists who were heroes of mine as well. Then you start thinking about other people who have become heroes to you that happen to be black--Colin Powell comes to mind for me--and you realize that race just doesn't make any difference in the way I look at people. But it started with my sports heroes, and I think it's important that we recognize the role sports has played in helping generations of kids to put the worst of the past behind us.
Totally agree. Definitely don't want to unwind with a baseball game. We should always have causes and the horrors of the real world smashed into sports.

Red Sox are scary let's be honest. If they buy at the deadline they could make it interesting. I'm a Yankee fan but I can't help but notice the group of young players in Boston they are dynamic to say the least.
Yankees do have a problem with the ALE: Yankees can't win a series in the ALE! Prett bad for a team that's supposed too be a top ALE Team with best record.
They got caught cheating in 2017…… several other teams were caught as well both got off…. If they can’t win without cheating, explain the other 6 years in the ALCS 2018-2023
