It’s so bizarre to me how things just get abandoned like that. Heirlooms, a car.. let alone the entire home. It’s just so eerie to me to think that there was once life in this home. Laughter, tears, voices. And now it’s just.. a homeless home.
so what at least someone it’s enjoying it these people are rich as fuck that leaving this house don’t cost them nothing because they have so much if i was rich knowing i have so much money im not even have the lifetime to waste all the money i will share it and give it to others that are in need

@@keishajohnson6235 Yes if I remember correctly, the husband is the one who died. The wife couldn’t keep up with the cost of the home so she had to abandon it
This is how we leave life, we take nothing. This should serve as a reminder to all no matter where in society you place yourself, your profession, we all leave empty handed. This is just a building with items in, the power of a home and family are incredible. Regardless, we all leave everything behind somewhere on this earth in the end.
Yup it's a great reminder on the fact you can be rich and have a great career with lots of toys because in the long term the big guy upstairs doesn't care about all that, he only cares about what you've done with that power and wealth.
All is vanity and a chasing after the wind. From Ecclesiastes 2, King Solomon wrote: "I undertook great projects: I built houses for myself and planted vineyards. I made gardens and parks and planted all kinds of fruit trees in them. I made reservoirs to water groves and flourishing trees... I amassed silver and gold for myself, and the treasure of kings and provinces. I denied myself nothing my eyes desired; I refused my heart no pleasure. My heart took delight in all my labor, and this was the reward for all my toil. Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun. Then I said to myself, “The fate of the fool will overtake me also. What then do I gain by being wise?” I said to myself, “This too is meaningless.” For the wise, like the fool, will not be long remembered; the days have already come when both have been forgotten. Like the fool, the wise too must die! So I hated life, because the work that is done under the sun was grievous to me. All of it is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. I hated all the things I had toiled for under the sun, because I must leave them to the one who comes after me. And who knows whether that person will be wise or foolish? Yet they will have control over all the fruit of my toil into which I have poured my effort and skill under the sun. This too is meaningless. So my heart began to despair over all my toilsome labor under the sun. For a person may labor with wisdom, knowledge and skill, and then they must leave all they own to another who has not toiled for it. This too is meaningless and a great misfortune. What do people get for all the toil and anxious striving with which they labor under the sun? Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil."
Those are not Doctor Collison's belongings. The Doctor's wife sold the house to a guy from Nigeria. That guy was then deported. Supposedly the house is still in tax litigation court and that is the reason why none of the belongings have been removed.
As a black women I knew when I saw the hair products that someone from African descent lived in this house 😂 I saw them in that beautiful bedroom with all the Channel and women’s clothing
Nice to see this hasn’t been destroyed by jerks. This house is INCREDIBLE! The woodwork, ceilings, chandeliers, kitchen…. I hope someone buys it and gives it life again ❤
You know if someone left this much behind something really tragic happened. Put yourself there. Happy. Building a castle of a home. Living the dream and then suddenly.....it all comes to a halt . Someone disappears or dies and the sadness...wow. So overwhelming...one day for your own sanity and mental /emotional/physical health you just walk away. To anyone living who lived in this house and had to save yourself , I hope you are doing well and not so haunted by the weight of this loss. To the dreamer(s) who passed away, be kind to anyone new who tried to save your beautiful masterpiece of a home. R.i.p. ...if you do haunt a little...scare the crap out of them!
When I watch these videos I can't help but to imagine how it was when the houses were being lived in w the kids running around playing and the mother cooking in the kitchen w the smell of good food in the air while the pets are chillin out, tvs are on w their favorite shows playing, the noises and smells. And now abandoned w no noises, kids playing, mom in the kitchen cooking, no pets chillin. It's super sad to me. Especially knowing that an awful tragedy has happened w this family and home. It blows my mind watching these videos, but it is so cool to see. I absolutely love what you guys do. Keep it up..
How do you know?? Many of these people are frauds, spoiled entitled, disrespectful, rude, arrogant, shallow, and "I am superior" nasty to others. "Let me impress others with superficial things", so I can make myself feel great. My idea of dignity and grace differs from yours, probably by a significant margin. In my view, just owning an overtly big expensive home and owning many superficially expensive and overtly excessive things to impress others, doesn't automatically make someone dignified and graceful. In my view dignity and grace is earned by the character of ones life and the respect earned based on how they positively impact others.
@MrsQ22 what was dignity and graceful about it? I think we misconceptualize the meaning of dignity and graceful. He sounded like every individual exploring abandoned mansions. Or at least my meaning means or is determined by much more. No disrespect. And yes I am chill by nature. Takes a lot to get me overtly excited enough to call someone or some family graceful or dignified.
So sad what happened to the man and his son, the wife lost her husband, the children lost their dad, then their home was also lost… no matter what material things are left behind it’s nothing compared to losing a love one 🙏🏽 😢
People are oddly sadder about a house and material items than the family. The house means nothing. You can't take it with you. Love is All That Matters. Family is everything.
as someone who has experienced homelessness more than once in my "adult" years, seeing all of this just going to waste is extremely disheartening. even just all those shoes and clothes going to waste.. such a shame

At one time, I lived this lifestyle. Nothing in it ever appealed to me. It's really true that money can't buy happiness. People I knew, who had "everything", including fame, were not happy. The real things in life are family, friends, giving time to people in need. That's happiness.
Money absolutely can buy happiness, it cant buy LOVE though, whether that be from a relationship or from family and friends thats the one thing money cant buy, and if your happiness in life primarily comes from being loved by others then yea it won't be able to buy you that. But pretentious people trying to tell others that "money cant buy happiness" is just plain wrong and ignorant of how 99% of the human population lives and goes through.
@@jamfd3s788 yea that’s true to an extent, money first and foremost buys you comfort. And for me at least that makes me happy, that and spending time with my loved ones. But true happiness comes from within and nothing monetary is gonna change that, it just helps make it easier.
@@jamfd3s788 I can really only speak of myself and my experience. I am happy with my life and family. Money cant buy me the things that make me happy but it can take my stress away and help me live more worry free. For instance, I have a special needs child who will need care for the rest of his life. I cant die. I worry constantly about who will care for him when I die. If I had money I would be able to buy a plan and die peacefully
This lifestyle is way beyond my comprehension!!! Lol Sad talking to a coworker just today that about $2000 right now would put me in a much more relaxed position with having my minimal life’s bills spot on enough to feel secure!!! Seeing this place makes what would set me financially pretty pathetic . I just keep thinking as he goes through what a beautiful life they would have had .
This house is just breathtaking even after sitting that long abandoned. Makes me so sad. It's sad people can have such lavish lifestyles and just leave it all behind. Someone should honestly take the furniture and clothes and stuff out and donate it to people who need it. Especially the clothes with tags still on them.
Because the guy was probably wanted and on the loose for tax evasion or something that was going to put him in jail. So he said fuck it and dropped everything and went back to his home country
Squatters pooping in the sink, it won’t be much longer they are gonna finish tearing this house up! I don’t understand why the state don’t have it in their foreclosed sales or tax foreclosure?? That’s odd to me ??
Ok I figured it out, the house was built on an Indian burial site. The doctor's family had been haunted for a long time before the angry spirit caused the plane to crash. The wife and remaining kids kept being haunted so they sold and got out. The new guy that moved in was so terrified by the angry spirit that he just split, leaving almost everything behind, even fled the country. The squatter these guys heard wasn't a squatter at all, it was the evil spirit or perhaps the ghost of the doctor or son trapped in the house by the evil spirit. Its completely obvious to anyone who can read the tea leaves.
@jeffk464 I honestly had the same type of eerie feeling , and the dragged markings that look like old blood , either haunted , or the guy that lived there last killed his wife and her pet dogs , buried the bodies in the concrete of the unfinished pool house and then fled the country to face no charges in case anybody found out 😮
The electric is still on in this mansion, the wolfe thing you called a fondue is a deep fryer and there was a red light on, the wall ovens still displayed the digital clock showing that the electric is still on. This makes me wonder if the last owner still owns it or someone else, not the bank or state or government due to taxes not being paid. Absolutely beautiful.
I Think the guy who bought it killed his wife and fled the country in 2016. All her stuff is there, all doors open except the one with the smear that leads to a locked door? Bad energy, sad energy. I get a creepy feeling.
Gosh, just sitting here thinking I hope his wife and kids never see this. How heartbreaking 💔 and finding this online would be devastating for them. Usually when you see abandoned places, they are fairly old and the occupants have passed on. ☹️
Those ppl,the father and son who died in the plane crash, that family isn't who all of this stuff belonged to, it was bought by a foreign person, I'm assuming a couple (for obvious reasons) anyways all of this stuff belonged to them!!
Chances are they likely already have. Even though far away from my childhood home; I looked it up when at that time only google maps could help. Their grand children would be interested to see what it looks like.
It makes me very sad to see such a big beautiful house abandoned. My heart aches for the 1st family that lived here. I’m sure they had great expectations for their dream house. Very sorry for the loss of the family members
My daughter and I were watching this video together and since you posted a scripture (which I appreciate) I’ll share my thoughts. I was talking with my daughter and expressing, “see? Everything we strive for in this life is corruptible and eventually rots.” “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust[a] destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.” Matthew 6:19-20
@@ahoranui Likewise, it would benefit you to take a break from a strictly atheistic worldview and consider that what Jesus spoke about in scripture has truth to it and is for our benefit so we understand that this life is only the beginning of existence and that life has a point to it beyond just right now. Jesus explains His purpose for coming to earth in John 18:37 “You are a king, then.” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You say that I am as such. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”
I loved how you showed every single detail in the house and took the time to notice everything. You do a great job presenting. They were looking to repaint some of the rooms (with the blue tape protecting the borders). I believe that the appliance in the kitchen island was used to keep food warm. Also, maybe she put both kids together in that 1 room while that section of the house was getting renovated. Very strange how everything was left there (expensive shoes, clothes, etc.)
I would not want to live in a house this large, it is just too much. Just insane to think that owning this wealthy people think these are the things that make them happy. The story is very sad.
@bee3027 you got invite extended family to live with you. Air bnb a room or two, another room for students studying for their masters. Maybe a room as a mini child or pets daycare for the community. A room as a community cafe etc. The house for one family to enjoy is too much. Heck let the housekeeper live in one of the rooms.
Yes it is total overkill. Intimidating and unwelcoming. Also this one is so tacky I could not live in it. It is a difference when you live in a real old house with much ornamental stuff. But you can even see through the camera how cheap and fake everything is. The only nice part are the floors, especially the travertine floors in roman pattern (I have the same in my house). But all pillars are so unnecessarily tacky, misplaced and wrongly designed. The pilasters are the load bearing and load distributing part of a pillar. It is not supposed for them to hang over in a real configuration. Everything fake and for shows. Sad that the architect seems not to know the basics of such design elements. This ruins the whole appearance.
This is a very sad story about this here mansion. You can tell this surgeon loved his family to buy something so bizarre as this. That just tells you, you never know what's going to happen, but still I feel for this family. God watch over the ones that are living please. Amen...
A sad and tragic reminder ... that you can't take anything with you out of this life. Ironic the fancy things people build, all the treasures they collect... and then so many who have nowhere to live these days. I cannot believe the heaps of costly belongings left behind in this place.
My hope and dream is that someone will buy this and bring it back to life. It will be a true work of art, with far deeper meaning than any other real estate venture. This house deserves life again.

It's quite amazing how quickly modern construction deteriorates when left unattended versus much older construction. Just goes to show that they really don't build them like they used to.
It is still such a beautuful house, it is very sad. So much waste. The plywood alone is worth a fortune. I grew up in a single wide trailor in a trailor park, my dad was a logger. We were once building a $15million+ house for a very rich family. And the teenage kids were designing their own rooms. So the red chair is actually called a Porter Chair. In old estates or private establishments the porter would be by the gate or door to answer the arriving guests. The shape allowed for him to be protected from the elements and as someone else also commented it also was good for sound i.e. blocking out the household or courtyard noise so you could hear guests arrive but its original purpose was not a music chair. I actually learned about these chairs at a haunted New England hotel. Loving this and not even half way through.
One of the best designed mansion's I have seen, it is beautifully done from one room to the other it has excellent flow. I bet he’s proud of his daughter today becoming a Dr. just some info I found on google from her point of view. Dr. C flew small planes as a hobby. In 2008, he and his 15-year-old son passed in a plane crash in the Shenandoah Mountains during a storm. At 12 years old, the daughter lost her father, older brother and way of life as she knew it - “most of everything we had, including our home and our livelihood,” she says. Unable to maintain the life Dr. C had built for their family, and shattered from the loss of her husband and son, Mrs. C became severely depressed and anxious. She sent daughter away from their affluent community to live with her grandmother in South Side Chicago.
All those elevator doors that are locked are locked automatically when the elevator leaves the floor. The basement is where it was either last used or intentionally left to prevent any kind of possible accidental injury while the house is empty.
I’ve been reading the comments. It seems like people are not comprehending that the FIRST owner of this home who was a surgeon, DIED in a plane crash with his 15 year old son. RIP His widow SOLD the home to a SECOND owner. Who in turn abandoned the home LEAVING personal belongings, plus a Range Rover, Mercedes and a Beetle. Very sad circumstances for BOTH families!
I think the woman who lost the son and husband left the stuff and sold the house “ as is “ those shoes were all pretty large. Women’s were size 9 and the men’s shoes were large too
As far as I know from what I’ve read… they moved in while the construction was still being completed, and still owed over 9 million on the house, and the unfinished construction. Due to the fact the doctor was not paying his premiums on his life insurance they lost everything. Everything I’ve found only hints to one owner which is why the house stayed unfinished after they lost it.

Wow. Like Big Bankz said in his video, this is more like a palace than a mansion! How utterly beautiful it is...and was. Thanks for filming this video.
Something about the state the house is in says they left expecting to return and something happened keeping the owner away. Like there’s a missing piece to the story. That being said, thank you for sharing your adventure with us. It’s beautiful.
I can never comprehend people who can afford this lifestyle and just walk off and leave some of the nice things they left in the home there are so many people that would be grateful and feel blessed to have what they must have had living in that home wow.😟
Some ppl are not a slave to those material things… and are able to walk away because the found out how to do it the first time I’m sure they can do it again and any place they go. It’s a mindset.
The main person that was 2nd owner intended (from what I can tell) on returning but was killed as well. He was still the owner of and involved in a lot of businesses in the USA so it would make sense he would keep a house here as well as his home county. At least one of his kids is still here in the states in college.

I used to think about having a house, especially a house of this magntude in such a remote location. I live in a one-bedroom apartment with the usual noisy neighbors and street noises. But, after watching these videos, not so much anymore. I think even with a big family it would seem a little too quiet and lonely - and scary, especially at night.

This is hard to believe. Where are the families of this family? Nobody took care of selling the property and what’s inside? Nobody took any of the furniture? How are they keeping thieves from taking what’s in it? How do the other floors look so clean? This is strange.
It’s just a McMansion which is created to deteriorate quickly. As for the stuff, it just shows a lack of respect and gratitude for how fortunate they were, or maybe they wanted people to come take it bc it was behind them and they didn’t want to deal with the hassle. I do think they should’ve donated the cars tho. Like for survivors of domestic violence or something instead of them rotting there. Great video though! Very appreciative!!!

What's absolutely amazing to me is how many places like this exist. I mean, obviously, a bank now owns it. But how can all these banks just let these palaces rot away, thus losing all their value? It is really profitable for banks to do that rather than just sell them at significant losses? Minds blown

Hi, it's C. The old lady from Colorado. I enjoy the way you guys communicate with the places you visit and what you see...I'm sure that you'll get 1mill. views in no time!
It makes me feel real sad just looking at every room and knowing that once someone moved there with probably so much hope and many plans in their minds but for some crazy reason their destiny had something else stored for them . The part that gave me chills on my spine was the laundry room, seems like something bad really happened and they have to run away leaving everything behind....I could be wrong but that’s what I feel looking every room in that house. I’m also surprised that they haven’t stole whatever is left valuable . Thanks so much for sharing such an interesting story with the mansion. God bless y’all!
I dont think anything happened in there . I feel like it just looks eerie and sad . However the owner and his son did die In a plane crash and the wife and other kids were forced to move out . I’ve been doing my own research hopefully wishing I can walk in this house as well
@@jateriasu3327 I didn’t say something bad happened in the house but for sure in their lives , like you said the father and the son died in that accident and they were forced to leave everything behind....what more tragic and terrible then that ? But anyway thanks for the information and take care of yourself. God Bless
@@nuny313 maybe you should read what you said then “ the part that gave me chills on my spine was the laundry room , seems like something bad really happened “ you knew it was an incident so that part wasn’t even needed now thank you and god bless you
Imagine how awesome it would be to play hide & seek in this huge place! A kids paradise playground! So sad the family couldn't continue to live there. Couldn't imagine what the first family went through. At the end of the day as long as I have my family, I dont care where or what we live in or what we have. As long as we have one another is all the truly matters.
I absolutely love how you elevate these stories by bringing a profound literary quality to them. Each adventure seems like an exquisite chapter in a book. Thank you for doing all that you do!
That’s preposterous!! If you unmuted you’d realize its a bit ludicrous as he didn’t say “insane” as much as you think. Regardless I’m sure he read your constructive comment and feels ridiculous, and got his thesaurus ready for his next video so doesn’t make the viewers crazy
Just insane. Not sure which is more impressive, the respect you show for the home and left behind belongings or your knowledge of fashion and architecture. It had to be hard leaving all those sneakers sitting there, but I'm guessing you would have edited that part out if you grabbed them. From a DJs perspective, this would be the ultimate wedding venue with lots of room for overnight guests. Somebody PLEASE buy this house.
Omg....yes!!!! I just said that to my fiance! I was like: Dude....let's find the owners, tell them we'll clean the whole thing up, power wash etc etc and as payment we can have our wedding there 😂

Whimsy, wonder and appreciation for the grandeur and lust of days lost to time… Almost childlike with his genuine amazement and admiration. This was the most beautiful abandoned mansion I have seen. Incredibly sad feeling in this place though. Like unbearable heartbreak. Great job showing us this. BRAVO! 🙋🏽🪴
Seeing what squatters do to these homes turns my stomach. Don't get me wrong, I'm not condemning them for being homeless but I am condemning what they do to these beautiful homes and such disrespect they show.
And that’s why a lot of them stay homeless for a lack of respect to other peoples things if they weren’t so disrespectful they prob could crash at friends places
The house. What a beauty. That first bedroom, with those windows and natural light filtering through, was exquisite. That was an hour well spent watching. Thank you for such an enjoyable and respectful tour.
I think this is the most beautiful "Palace" I have ever seen. So very sad for the family who lost their loved one's. I don't understand why all the absolutely beautiful contents are left behind just to rot away. Once again BigBankz you have taken us with you through another amazing mansion. Stay safe ... Can't wait for the next one😁😉
He explained in the video, the SECOND owners returned to their country. It's very expensive to ship things internationally. They likely took what was most important based on cost.
This is one of several explores I have seen of this specific mansion and by far the best explore of this home I have seen! Very well done. Last explore I saw must have been long after tours because someone had gone in and smashed the glass shower walls and doors. Truly so sad to see it abandoned but even more sad to see the disregard and disrespect people have.
I'm not one to smash or loot anything, but there is more stuff abandoned here than most people will be able to afford in their entire lifetimes. It was shitty of the owners not to liquidate these possessions in a responsible manner. Poor people could have used those vehicles. The property could have made a nice park or facility. This is end stage capitalism staring us in the face. It's just wrong.
Disgusting. Seriously, who destroys things just to destroy them? I mean, there's no benefit or payoff to anyone for doing it, it's just needless, wasteful destruction. It's honestly repulsive!
Its just weird to me that all the high end furniture, appliances, the sinks, all the shoes that are worth money, haven't been taken by looters. Thousands upon thousands of dollars to be made. The cars along are alot of money. The power tools and all the silverware, plates, cups are all high end. Plus electricity is still on in the house for some reason. Somethings weird to me.
I think these places are so sad. It's like the house is waiting for its family to return, yet they never will. And, no one will ever buy these places. I mean, can you imagine not only the expense in buying these places and fixing them up but the cost of maintaining them on a monthly basis, especially in this day and age? Very sad.
This house is simply a dream. I couldn’t imagine living there. I love your attention to detail and thorough scan of the house! My jaw dropped at the gun 😂😂 Keep up the great content!
🧡 Yes, great video to detail & you are respectful to the belongings also... I use to work with Antiques,, even the piano has the Queen Anne legs,, just absolute solid antiques that are so beautiful,, All the wooden furniture is priceless antiques,, simply amazing...😎
I am from Canada and I starting watching your channel last year. I myself will most likely not be travelling to U.S.anytime soon so watching you has been really entertaining, being able to see all these abandoned (and sometimes beautiful) places that I didn't even know existed. Also it quite sad to hear the stories that are attached to these properties. You and your wife and team are awesome.
As the guy was showing us more and more boxes from extravagant things, the only thought I had was that no matter how much stuff these people bought, nothing was enough for them! How many shoes, bags, clothes does one person need? Most of the clothes still had their tags on them. I honestly think extremely rich people like this are very unhappy. That's why a lot of them have drink and drug problems. They get a quick fix from ordering the latest shoes or trainers or whatever, but 10 minutes later the thrill wears off. Buying things doesn't make you happy. Friends, family and love makes you happy. Don't get me wrong, being broke doesn't make you happy either, but I think there's a certain amount of money that hits the right spot! Enough to not have to worry about bills; enough to live in a nice comfortable home; enough to feed your family good food; enough to give to charity or a friend in need; and enough to go on a holiday or two each year. That to me would be bliss. I feel sorry for the first family that the man and son died. However, I don't think the second family cared about this house. They had so much money they could afford to just abandon it like this. I think wealth like this is vulgar, to be honest. If they have so much money why not gift the house to some charity when they were leaving the country instead of letting it go to ruin? To me it's disgusting that children in the world are dying of poverty and at the same time people like this are wasting so much money. I guarantee they'd be happier human beings if they gave more than they take. Perhaps they were criminals who had to flee the country? Why else would you just leave things like a Mercedes car behind? To finish, I wouldn't buy this house if it was the last house on the planet. It has a very bad vibe that seeps through the screen. I'm not sure if it's because of the poor man and son dying, or if it's from whomever bought it afterwards. Alternatively, it makes me wonder if the house somehow brings bad luck to its owners? I do believe there are properties that have bad vibes. I hope the next owners demolish it and start again (and have the land blessed before they begin!). Wouldn't be me, that's for sure.
Yeah for real, the bad vibes are palatable. Honestly, I think the guy who amassed such wealth and built this house from nothing must've been a real winner full of life energy. What kind of all-star creates a property like this, gives such a life to his family, and takes his kid flying on planes. He must've been a swell guy. That's what makes it sad and contributes to the bad vibes. The fact that this place was cynically commoditized and abandoned by obvious bad people with more money than brains or morals only makes it worse. I can't believe the stuff hasn't been taken, that's the most couching shocking thing, but on a positive note it reinforces the idea that monitarily expensive things don't count for much and sentimental things are really what count
@@jamessteele5918 Agree on the sad vibes. But the next owner was reportedly a businessman-philantropist who died in a car crash in Africa, hence taxes stopped getting paid since- potentially estate litigation issues that could go for years and usually houses are left derelict in the interim - we are so quick jumping into conclusions like 'they were bad people' or criminals... that says more about us as a collective.
Respectfully disagree. People go to two extremes. "I'd rather be poor and happy instead of being super rich!" Those are mutually exclusive. Poor is when you're worried about pay your bills on timr or theres no safety net. You want to move to a "good" neighborhood, schools , low crime, etc. Well, that takes money, honey. You need to be ricjh to buy a house There's a false idea that "poor" trumps being rich. And that you're morally superior than rich folks. You want your kids to goto Private schools and college w/o debt? Yeah, thats a desire to be "rich" and if you have that, you're rich. People are hypocrites. The doctor was stupid w/ life choices. Agreed. He could've b been overextended on his credit. Many average ",homeowners fall into this trap too. You know what money brings? Comfort , choices, security, and experiences that " poor" people would trade in a heart beat. Choices to not work and stay home. If the dr. Paid the insurance premiums the wife would've have choices. To stay in the house or move. Being able to stay @ home instead of forced to work and find child care. Many can relate to the expensive clothes b/c we know how much designer clothes cost. But its difficult to relate to a the cost of building a 10 million house b,/c its so abstract. person'
The amount of money it would take to fix, clean, maintain, etc. a house that size. No wonder it sits abandoned, there can't be that many people who could afford this. Even just to clean it would be tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of dollars. Beautiful home
It needs to be split into apartments, 1 airbnb and something communal for the community in the basement- maybe a Cafe, library etc (but a meeting point for the area).
This mansion needs to be brought back in memory of the father and son!!! So beautiful and ornate!! They did not spare any expense!!! Thanks for showing us this beauty!!!
First off, you did an amazing job on this video! The detail you went into, showing us everything you did was so amazing! My wife and I watched this and there were several instances we gasped aloud at the beauty and opulence of what we were seeing. It is beyond confounding how all this beauty and opulence can just be left behind to rot. How does this happen? For real, thank you for making this video. Seriously awesome job!
My mind boggles at how much money has been used and then just had to be abandoned. Just the cost of some of the clothes I couldnt afford. Its literally disturbing how much work and effort had been put into this only to have been done to give the raccoons a nice comfy bed. Also, could you tell us more about the squatter or whatever as that sounds terrifying?

This is how we leave life, we take nothing. This should serve as a reminder to all no matter where in society you place yourself, your profession, we all leave empty handed. This is just a building with items in, the power of a home and family are incredible. Regardless, we all leave everything behind somewhere on this earth in the end.

Yup it's a great reminder on the fact you can be rich and have a great career with lots of toys because in the long term the big guy upstairs doesn't care about all that, he only cares about what you've done with that power and wealth.
King Salomon said: “everything is pure vanity.
Vanity of vanities… “ sad… to sad to see all this abandoned.
All is vanity and a chasing after the wind. From Ecclesiastes 2, King Solomon wrote:
"I undertook great projects: I built houses for myself and planted vineyards. I made gardens and parks and planted all kinds of fruit trees in them. I made reservoirs to water groves and flourishing trees... I amassed silver and gold for myself, and the treasure of kings and provinces.
I denied myself nothing my eyes desired;
I refused my heart no pleasure.
My heart took delight in all my labor,
and this was the reward for all my toil.
Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done
and what I had toiled to achieve,
everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;
nothing was gained under the sun.
Then I said to myself,
“The fate of the fool will overtake me also.
What then do I gain by being wise?”
I said to myself,
“This too is meaningless.”
For the wise, like the fool, will not be long remembered;
the days have already come when both have been forgotten.
Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the duty of all mankind.
For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil."
Those are not Doctor Collison's belongings. The Doctor's wife sold the house to a guy from Nigeria. That guy was then deported. Supposedly the house is still in tax litigation court and that is the reason why none of the belongings have been removed.

The way you talk about this house. And the people who lived here. Such dignity and grace.

If I had money I would be able to buy a plan and die peacefully

or someone needs to restore the mansion
Ok I figured it out, the house was built on an Indian burial site. The doctor's family had been haunted for a long time before the angry spirit caused the plane to crash. The wife and remaining kids kept being haunted so they sold and got out. The new guy that moved in was so terrified by the angry spirit that he just split, leaving almost everything behind, even fled the country. The squatter these guys heard wasn't a squatter at all, it was the evil spirit or perhaps the ghost of the doctor or son trapped in the house by the evil spirit. Its completely obvious to anyone who can read the tea leaves.

I couldn't even dream of. Home that beautiful!I live in a little 400 ft. House, two rooms and bath, but I'm grateful.

There's an old proverb in an old book that says you shouldn't put all of your heart into your wealth. You can't take it with you.
My hope and dream is that someone will buy this and bring it back to life. It will be a true work of art, with far deeper meaning than any other real estate venture. This house deserves life again.

"The surgeon moved into the home with his family while it was under construction, but just six months later he and his 15-year-old son were killed in a plane crash, according to the urban explorer.
He left behind a wife and three other children, but the surgeon had not been paying the premiums on his life insurance and thus all financial support was removed from her.
At that time there was still $9,892,600 owed on the mansion and the mortgage was nearly $62,000 a month. Within three months the bank seized the property, it was 90 per cent finished and has been left to the elements since.

Verry interesting
One of the best designed mansion's I have seen, it is beautifully done from one room to the other it has excellent flow. What is sad is that so much waste, so much excess and in the end none of it can be taken with, Her husband and son left this world with nothing in hand and no amount of money or possessions can bring them back, a huge void in the lives of the remaining family.
Which house?

All those elevator doors that are locked are locked automatically when the elevator leaves the floor. The basement is where it was either last used or intentionally left to prevent any kind of possible accidental injury while the house is empty.
I’ve been reading the comments. It seems like people are not comprehending that the FIRST owner of this home who was a surgeon, DIED in a plane crash with his 15 year old son. RIP
His widow SOLD the home to a SECOND owner. Who in turn abandoned the home LEAVING personal belongings, plus a Range Rover, Mercedes and a Beetle.
Very sad circumstances for BOTH families!

Likely her sons shoes
Seems like someone went to jail or got kicked out by the bank and cops.
I just found your channel and I had no idea that homes like this were abandoned! But I was so impressed in the way you tell the history with compassion and empathy and what caught me by surprise was that in the very beginning of the video the verse 1 Peter 4:8, “above all things, love each other deeply.” This reminds us of how precious and fleeting life is and that time is the true gift. The Owner Died In A Plane Crash.
The widow sold it. It was bought by a foreigner. The new owner left the country, and the taxes stopped getting paid. That's how it became abandoned.
I heard the new owner was deported back to his country. I believe they said it was Nigeria.
I think whoever was staying there after the family left was a terrorist I don’t know, but there’s more to the story! They left and went back 😱🤷🏽♀️🇺🇸
I can never comprehend people who can afford this lifestyle and just walk off and leave some of the nice things they left in the home there are so many people that would be grateful and feel blessed to have what they must have had living in that home wow.😟

This is hard to believe. Where are the families of this family? Nobody took care of selling the property and what’s inside? Nobody took any of the furniture? How are they keeping thieves from taking what’s in it? How do the other floors look so clean? This is strange.
Did you ever find out?
Probably this house is on closed community.... that's why nobody invaded it
I agree, for the cost of this mansion and the looks of the neighbors this had to be gated.
It’s just a McMansion which is created to deteriorate quickly. As for the stuff, it just shows a lack of respect and gratitude for how fortunate they were, or maybe they wanted people to come take it bc it was behind them and they didn’t want to deal with the hassle. This is end stage capitalism staring us in the face. It's just wrong.
Disgusting. Seriously, who destroys things just to destroy them? I mean, there's no benefit or payoff to anyone for doing it, it's just needless, wasteful destruction. It's honestly repulsive!
@@lblincoe2094 I completely agree. It senseless and unnecessary.
Young punks must have went in there and destroyed everything
He clearly is illiterate lol
I can't even begin to imagine how much it would cost to maintain that home. And the heat/electricity, etc...
as well.
Prob 20,000 to 30,000 a month.
I love that you’re so respectful and tell the story and don’t just invade ❤
Yeah....right
He invades politely
You know he took those shoes after the camera turned off 😂😅
I think these places are so sad.
Nice
🧡 Yes, great video to detail & you are respectful to the belongings also...
I use to work with Antiques,, even the piano has the Queen Anne legs,, just absolute solid antiques that are so beautiful,, All the wooden furniture is priceless antiques,, simply amazing...😎
Some people have so much money, they buy just too much. Who needs all that.
Am I the only one wondering how they getting in all these houses lol 😅

Yes creepy vibe
@@jamessteele5918 Agree on the sad vibes. But the next owner was reportedly a businessman-philantropist who died in a car crash in Africa, hence taxes stopped getting paid since- potentially estate litigation issues that could go for years and usually houses are left derelict in the interim - we are so quick jumping into conclusions like 'they were bad people' or criminals... that says more about us as a collective.
The owner of said abandoned property died in an auto accident in Nigeria
Respectfully disagree. People go to two extremes. "I'd rather be poor and happy instead of being super rich!" Those are mutually exclusive.
Poor is when you're worried about pay your bills on timr or theres no safety net. You want to move to a "good" neighborhood, schools , low crime, etc. Well, that takes money, honey. You need to be ricjh to buy a house
There's a false idea that "poor" trumps being rich.
A lot of people could afford to clean it up, maintaining and paying the bills would be different.....
It needs to be split into apartments, 1 airbnb and something communal for the community in the basement- maybe a Cafe, library etc (but a meeting point for the area).

Life can be hard. One day you have it all, and in a blink of an eye it's gone. A very sad story for the first family.
Love the chandelier in the first bathroom and the bird dishes.
This mansion needs to be brought back in memory of the father and son!!! So beautiful and ornate!! They did not spare any expense!!! Thanks for showing us this beauty!!!
The property had a second owner. This is their stuff.
❤ How excited the family was opening the door for the first time. There hearts beating so fast running around and finding there rooms. ❤ dinner time with the family sitting down and talking business 👩💼👨💼 kids asking mom if they could go swimming.... ❤
The kids went to boarding school....they never lived fulltime with the parents
Thank you for speaking quietly while exploring but not disturbing much what still stands. I pray a restoration of all things onto those that cherish them.
