@@manchest100 :( let people enjoy croissants! I love croissants. When you have a truly, truly great croissant, it is life changing. The butteriness, coating your tongue but not in a cloying way. Crisp, light crunches and flakes of the exterior breaking off in pieces. The slight chewiness of the dough parts and the layers OH THE LAYERS. Great croissants are not to be overlooked!

Pain au chocolat is actually a type of croissant, referred to as chocolate croissant.
That wasn't always the case though.
Pain au chocolat used to be made from bread dough in the past, which makes sense since "pain au chocolat" means bread with chocolate. But now, it's just a different shaped croissant.

Paul is a chain of French patisserie shops in mainly London I think, and they have great, buttery, flaky croissants, Betty's Tea Rooms in Harrogate, for any cake related goodies (Rie would die of cake happiness in there believe you me) and an incredible 1920s style setting, and Waitrose do really good fresh croissants, they are a good supermarket in the UK. In France (specifically the region around paris), croissants are about 1 euros or a bit more, and are usually classic, croissant au beurre with more butter, and croissant aux amandes, which is a mass of pastry, almond cream and rhum. We have "pain au chocolat which is not a croissant but puff pastry and two pieces of chocolate inside.
I've actually never seen a savory croissant, which might be due to my own ignorance and not that we don't do those, but we seem more conservative i'd say.
The croissant in this video seem delicious, but a bit extra, or very extra.
To me a good croissant is crispy outside, moist inside, with large bubbles insides. Should feel light.
