The entrance to Regulate is from the Motion Picture Young Guns. When he says “Regulators, we Regulate any stealing of his property, we’re damn good too. Yes 213 is a LA area code and you have to remember cling your area code is an important hip hop technique. This was during the Cali/NYC hip hop riffs. Claiming your clique was always important and even more so during this time.
I have owned 3 copies of this album in my life since tape cassette. G Funk Era is an important part of my life. Thanks gentlemen for paying this respect.
I always loved the way they were able to take Michael McDonalds beat from “I keep forgetting” and incorporate it into this song, much like 2 pac changes using Bruce Hornsby “the way it is” beat. Just flows so perfectly

"Regulate" here is meant to adopt connotations of correction. So, they are both relaxed, fun-loving people, but if you disrupt that mood, they will correct you by any means. As they say, "Don't start none, won't be none." lol
Well, guys... hello from Romania. :) I love both of you, just shared this with my son also. Now, since you get your dad to this road, let him have some of the bangers. DMX, Busta, Eminem (some of the fast lyrics one)... I can see you are taking him very smoothly to this ride. Press the pedal a little, I am sure he would love the hard beats also. Thank you for the kind words :) since most of the music we have listened to so far came out before I was born, and I didn’t live the stories they tell, it is sometimes hard for me to get the context correct. But I’m glad that viewers fill me in on it when I miss something. Thanks for watching ❤️

The last line "If you ass is a buster than 213 will regulate". 213 was the group they were all in, Nate Dogg, Warren G, & Snoop. Buster is a term for some one who is a chump or someone who is your enemy. The way it is used in the line is, if you are my enemy then we'll regulate you i.e end you. love these videos, keep building fam.
Also 213 was the phone area code of LA and Long Beach. So that is a reference to the area in which they lived. If you came to that area you better be ready to hold your own or they would" Regulate" to let the out of towner's know don't try it.

@@bymrbest906 I was born and raised in Long Beach. 213, 310 was for both Long Beach and L.A. L.A is now 323 and 424 and Long Beach is now 562. 909 is Riverside/San Bernardino County area.
Wow I love you and your dad bonding together listening to music. Your dad is very intelligent and humble man. I love how he nails every little detail to the song. I am officially will be subscribing to your channel. Keep up the good work.
You are so kind!
@@frontroom crooked I fast car he raps over tracy chapmans fast car telling his storey good song
Dad is correct the melody and beat are from the original song called Too Hot I believe it was made in 1979 by Kool and The Gang. Good ear Dad!👂😊
That's factually incorrect. The it's actually a sample of the song "I Keep Forgettin' (Every time You're Near)" performed by Michael McDonald.
Shout out to my brother T-Money Green who played bass all over those G-Funk records. He was a former bass player for the dramatics too. He's responsible for linking Snoop with the Dramatics for Snoop's song "Doggy Dogg World". Peace!
As a big music lover with eccentric taste in music my Dad that raised me encouraged us to listen to everything. I grew up at the end of 8tracks and tapes my first two CD’s were CCR and NWA two totally different styles of music. I appreciate that you and your dad do this, I would have loved to get to sit down with mine and let him find his own appreciation in the music I listen/listened to. Out of all the music reaction videos this is the most tasteful, wholesome and honest channels I watch. With that being said I’m soooo glad you did this reaction, this is my single most favorite song of all time! Thank you guys, keep it up!
I’ve never subscribed faster in my life. The dynamic between you guys is incredible. Btw “213 will regulate” I believe means we’re (warren g & Nate dogg) from Los Angeles & us or other people from this area will regulate if you’re a buster. (213 is an area code for a part of LA)
213 is also the name of the rap group that Snoop, Warren G and Nate Dogg formed.
It’s a area code I believe Long Beach
Yes 213 is a LA area code and you have to remember cling your area code is an important hip hop technique. This was during the Cali/NYC hip hop riffs. Claiming your clique was always important and even more so during this time.
Me too, I subscribed quicker to this channel than I have ever done before….10minutes 🤣🤣
New subbie over here. This and your video on Tupac's Dear Mama song sealed the deal for me. You guys are just genuinely wholesome and just enjoying the music. Glad TH-cam recommended your channel to me. 💙
You and your dad seem like such solid guys. Love your dad's openness to everything. To see him bob his head, seems like he can love and appreciate all types of music. Genuinely enjoy watching your videos, keep it up!
The "If your ass is a buster" explanation had me. Lol but I dig it. Great channel.
@JayWeezysWorld Definitely had me 😄😄!
I love how open your dad is to trying new songs and how well you not only articulate how you feel about the lyrics but also about all the elements of the actual music.
Shout from Aotearoa( New Zealand),i enjoy hearing you're guys perspective aswell as the way you two connect, very cool in my books,Much love from down Under
"Regulate" here is meant to adopt connotations of correction. So, they are both relaxed, fun-loving people, but if you disrupt that mood, they will correct you by any means. As they say, "Don't start none, won't be none." lol
This gives Unintentional Asmr. Please keep these mics, your voices are golden 👌🏻
Either way keep doing what you do, both of you are super fun to watch! :)
Thanks for the comments. Foot to the pedal? Have to make sure I got my seatbelt nice and tight! (dad)
Appreciate the support! Thank you for watching, Golan
@@frontroom Thanks for the reply. Busta Rhymes ft Eminem - I'll hurt you would totally make me (and you) smile. Is not what you think about when reading the title. :)
Keep up the good work! You guys are going to be big very soon.
OOOOOO Busta Buss!!! You gotta do his Leaders of The New School stuff first then solo stuff to see how he changes
Your dad's willingness to listen with a open mind is refreshing. We should all strive to have your father son relationship.
The beginning spoken words are from the movie Young Guns. Casey Siezmaszko (Charley Bowdre) is talking to Emilio Estevez (Billy The Kid )
Important to note, 213 is an area in the LA area, which is where these guys are from, so in addition to them referencing their other group, it's also them representing where they're from. A classic track!
In fact, 213 is the area code of Long Beach wich Snoop, Warren G and Nate Dogg came from...also They take this to name their rap group...
You guys are dope! Keep going y’all!
Another staple in the hip hop/rap culture 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 keep doing your hard physical research/ and reflection fellas 🙏🏽
I love the breakdown of the song you explain to your dad. So wholesome😅
I share this same connection with my dad for the love of old school hip hop and seeing you and your dad allows me to relate to you guys. Keep up the great work!
Awesome to hear that Anthony!
You’re showing pops some good tunes man keep them coming..let’s see some bone thugs!!
Love this channel and how fast you guys are going through a great path of music lol interesting. One of my fav songs since I’ve been a kid showed to me from my step dad and it’s cool to see you guys experience it
Thank you!! (dad)
Dad is so cute lol. I love these. Y’all just brighten my day! Keep it coming!
213 is the área Code from Long Beach, and it's the name of the group with Snoop, Warren G, and Nate Dogg(R.I.P.)
*213* is also the Area Code of Longbeach California!
Where Snoop, Warren & Nate Grew Up... Maybe Daz & Kurupt too (i think)
This song is a classic, you can play this everyday and you will always vibe to it. This is Hall of Fame of hiphop.
Love this channel. Your dad's voice and vibe is so relaxing, can he do some audio books for me 😅👍
Just seeing you with your dad and bonding over music and him being able to give that insight of music from his generations and how our generation takes those samples and make new music with it is truly phenomenal love yalls relationship
Man your dad is a good guy can see he really loves you ! Lovely to see theses kinds of videos
Your dad is so cool. I lost my dad in 2010. Keep up the great job. Love your videos :-)
Let's gooooo! Sooner or later you have to get an artist to come on and perform for your dad.
And I’ll book the artist for you 👊🏽 I’ve been a successful music booker. I’m a huge fan guys.
I’m really enjoying your channel. 👏🏽👏🏽
I always wondered how Michael McDonald felt about this sample. Probably vibes to it too.
Questions we need answered lol
213 is the Long Beaches area code,
Talib Kweli recently interviewed Warren G on his Uproxx channel: th-cam.com/video/loVc4_4PwBI/w-d-xo.html timestamp 42:32. Check out that part of the interview to see how McDonald felt about that sample.
I’m patiently waiting for dad to realize this is that song lol. The video almost over
The best 50% publishing deal decision he's ever made in his life lol
A classic! Warren G is Dr. Dre's little brother. "Regulators" intro from the classic 1988 western movie "Young Guns"
Step brother
@@blacksmith1925 Geez!!! Big deal! Lol They call each other "brother" NOT "step bro", would you agree?
@@lewkor1529 I agree with the fact that Warren Griffin and Andre Young are step brothers. Facts shouldn't offend you.
@@lewkor1529 but there’s a big difference between the two… dna
@@blacksmith1925 Pathetic! Warren G to Suge Knight "If you don't get your hands off of me, I am going to call my brother" I guess he should have said "If you don't get your hands off of me, I am going to call my step-brother" Lol. I will go by what Warren and Dre call each other 24/7. Facts shouldn't offend you...
1st verse came from Young Guns starring Emilio, Estevez, Charlie, Sheen, and Lou diamond Phillips and Kiefer Sutherland, my all-time favorite movie
The opening audio is from the movie "Young Guns (1988) with Emilo Esteves. it's a cowboy movie
I just discovered this youtube channel. Its amazing. Brilliant. Love to see you to this together, father and son. So fun and respect to your dads analyse and engagemant to this. I love it.
I enjoy watching your dad's reactions 😊
R.I.P. Nate Dogg 🖤
Im an oldschool hip-hop head from Denmark / Europe. Started listening to hiphop in 1983 (im 52 YO) and I think I know a pretty good deal about hip-hop. I love your videos so much. Its so wonderful that you can have this thing with your dad (your dad is SO cool). I wish I had the same opportunity back then. Some times I experience that you have some blank spots in your hip-hop story, and I understand that, because your ar young. But most of the time you are very correct, and I really admire your knowledge. Its fantastic. Giv us more :-)
Thank you for the kind words :) since most of the music we have listened to so far came out before I was born, and I didn’t live the stories they tell, it is sometimes hard for me to get the context correct. But I’m glad that viewers fill me in on it when I miss something. Thanks for watching ❤️
@@frontroom I'm very impressed about the knowledge your have though. Keep up the fantastic work showing the beautiful art of hiphop.
This is one of my favorite. Nate Dogg was considered the ghetto Opra Singer when he let this rap out. Love Dads' reaction to this. Hats off to you guys. You all should react to Back to the Hotel. Defense a must listen to. God's speed. 💞
14:03 213 is the Los Angeles area code. Regulate is the dictionary version meaning to control the flow of activity. From the Emilio Estevez movie Young Guns.
I’d love to hear your fathers thoughts on WuTang Clan, Tearz or C.R.E.A.M.
I love Dad coming over to the other side....lol. He too also appreciates these lyrical genius of Rap/hip hop art.
213 is the phone number area code for their area and since gangs are very territorial they often “represent” their area by using the area code
I love the bonding time between you and your father as well as you giving your dad insight on the music and I love his openness to learn about the artist and their work 👌🏾💯💯💯
Thank you very for watching Ron
Literally the opposite of my old man 😆
stumbled on your videos and fell in love with the 2 generations of perspectives. Your dad is wonderful!
Back in the day 213 was the area code for Los Angeles, Long Beach, Watts, etc (Central L.A.)
Also 213 was the phone area code of LA and Long Beach. So that is a reference to the area in which they lived. If you came to that area you better be ready to hold your own or they would" Regulate" to let the out of towner's know don't try it.
213 was referring to the area code.
@@jennifferflores8335 213 was the area code but not the meaning behind regulate. 213 was the the group.
@@shaylalatoya The group name was only based on the area code.
Love how y'all break down and analyze the music. If I could make a few suggestions:
Nas- Can't forget about you
Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth- They reminisce over you
Ice Cube- You know how we do it
DMX- Slippin'
Definitely DMX slippin 💯
@@christinewarren8134 They did end up reacting to that song.
The beginning of the song was from the movie “young guns” 1988
The idea about being a regulator come from a 1988 cowboy movie called "Young Guns". The opening lines are a direct quote from the movie 😅
The intro is from the "Young Guns" movie.
