  • This delivery was SUCH a different experience from the labor of my first baby and I was totally shocked by the whole thing. I never, ever expected it to go this way, especially after I was so traumatized by the recovery I went through after my induction last time. It just goes to show that every single pregnancy and delivery can be completely different. Moms, was your experience the same way? How was your 2nd (or more) compared to your 1st?
    As I mentioned in the video, here is what happened with baby #1:

      @@frmheadtotoe I feel like most women won't go into details about postpartum recovery and it can feel isolating if your recovery isn't smooth sailing. If you haven't already, prepare with knowledge and emotionally for the possibility of a c-section. I had my little boy last July and needed an urgent c-section. I had done the research about them but convinced myself that I was going to have a natural birth that I wasn't ready for how much not having a vaginal delivery hurt emotionally.

      I've never had a baby so take this with a grain of salt but apparently if you massage down there and do certain stretches during the pregnancy the chances of tearing are significantly reduced

    • @beelybae7020
      @beelybae7020 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When you tear it's ranked 1-4. 1 being just a small tear while 4 is you tore all the way to your butt hole. I had a 3rd degree tear so I didn't tear all the way down but still had a big tear. It hurt to walk, sit and pee. But after about 2 weeks it was ok. Yes the recovery isn't pleasant but when you have your baby it's worth it in the end. However it make me reconsider having another kid lol bc it was painful but that's my experience.

    Oh my god! I’m like crying because I had the worst pregnancy and the worst delivery with my first. She tore me so bad they called it a 3b degree tear (though at first called it a 4th degree)! They stitched me for about an hour too and they counted 20 towels of blood. I was like you, couldn’t sit, thought I had an infection because of the pain, couldn’t hold in my pee. Same. Same. Same. I am terrified to have a second. But this seriously gave me a little hope that it doesn’t have to be so horrific again. 😭

    I'm on my second pregnancy, just got into the 3rd trimester. My labor went super quickly the first time and I didnt tear enough for stitches, not bragging I was extremely fortunate. But even without that, peeing after giving birth was SOOOOO PAINFUL. I held in my pee for the 1st week and my baby was taken into the NICU due to lung issues so I wasn't so focused on myself. Until I ended up super sick from a terrible bladder infection from holding my pee. Anyways, I can only imagine how you must've felt from your 1st labor and postpartum experience. Cause I am terrified and I didnt come close to what you went through. You are one tough mama!!!! Congrats on Ezra he is beautiful and so perfect!!

    Just remember the first baby literally paves the way for the following. My second went much easier than my first. Both unmedicated home births. Both painful but the second was easier all around. Very easy recovery with the second also! Oh and just because you are at 10cm does NOT mean that it's time for the baby to come out. With my first I was at 10cm for almost 10 hours before she was ready to come. And with my second he was sunny side up when I was 10cm so I had to walk around until he turned. Glad you had a much better experience! I hear the third baby is a free for all lol. Sometimes easier sometimes harder. Hopefully if you have a third it will be easy too! He came out so quick as well and the recovery was so much easier!! Crazy our babies deliveries were super similar!! Loved the way you told the story of your delivery and the way you explained how you felt after delivery, that hollow, sore, and loose feeling was just the best way you could possibly describe it. Loved this. Thank you so much for sharing.

    OH my goodness, my 2nd baby was 2 hours from first contraction to having the baby. I almost didn't make it to the hospital! I am all with you with the drugs, now doing a meds labor and accidentally med free labor...glad that second one went way better for you! He is so dang cute!

    OMG! Same story here. Water breaking and from 0 to a MUCH HIGHER number of pain. And going to hospital and 7 cm dialated. I couldn't have epidural anymore.. haha. But it went soooo fast!!! I came in around a bit before 00.00 hours and on 00.01 they put me on the monitor, told me I was already 7 cm, I could not have epidural and around 00.25 my daughter was in my arms :D.

    What a beautiful birth story. Since pulling my guy out 22 mo ago, I can now truly appreciate how amazing the body is at giving birth regardless of the outcome. Thank you for sharing. Mine was a quick one too with the biggest pop/crack sound at the start. Baby came just shy of 7 hrs but no epi for me, anaethetist was an hr too late 😭 (literally sent death stares when he walked in). Still thanking god, that my little one came naturally at 38+ wks. Oby predicted a big baby and we were to be induced at 39 weeks. He was massive!

    Wow! The labor of my first baby is almost exactly the same! I went to bed around 11, feeling like I was nowhere close to labor, about to be 39 weeks after midnight, and then woke up at 1:30 feeling like pooping so I got up to use the bathroom and nothing happened, I had to get up to go a couple times but couldn't go, then suddenly got contractions. After a couple contractions it was unbearable! They were, I'm not lying, a minute and a half apart, lasting a minute and I called L&D and they told me it's just stress and to drink water and wait an hour. No. After a couple more contractions I Needed to be at the hospital so we got there as fast as we can and I was 8cm and had her at 3:30 😭 I'm pregnant with my second and really scared that it might be faster

    So glad to hear your second labour went so well. I've had 3 bubbas now. All 3 without pain relief, but my labours are pretty quick. My first was 10lb 5oz and took 11.5 hours - was dilated to a 10 when arrived at hospital. Number two was 7lb 10oz and was a total of 5.5 hours labour and I only made it to the hospital with 10 mins to spare before he was born (we live 10 mins away from the hospital) - I ate dinner at 7:15pm, thinking maybe I was in labour - he was born less than an hour later. My husband's face when he heard the midwife say "he'll be out in one more contraction". Last bubba was born in July and was a total of just under 4 hours labour and was 9lb 5oz.

    I had a similar experience with my second. Tore pretty badly with my first too, but not so much for my second. For the birth of my second, everything happened so fast. I was also 8-9 cm dilated by the time I got the epidural. I was like you...in pure panic mode! It took everything in me to hold still long enough to get that epidural. I was in such pain. But the nurse told me it’s not too late to get an epidural as long as you are able to hold still to get it. I was like, “There’s no way in hell I’m doing this natural!” Lol! Contractions felt like they were coming every second so with tears rolling down my face, I fought to get that epidural. 4 pushes later, my sweet baby Nolan was out. He was born with one bottom tooth and wanted to cluster feed immediately. So no rest for this mama. And breastfeeding was super fun with that bottom tooth 🦷 *Note the sarcasm 😉 Anyways, thanks for sharing. Baby Ezra is adorable!

    36 weeks pregnant with my second and I’m getting anxiety thinking about giving birth.. with my first I was induced contractions were not terrible (epidural saved my butt) I pushed her out in like 2 mins. I feel like people always have a “good” and “bad” birth so I’m hoping this one isn’t traumatizing!!

    He is SO cute! He looks so huge and almost like he’s 5-6 months already. Congratulations. I recall being pregnant and watching your post partum video. At the time, it made me feel like anything could happened. In reality, it went very smooth and nothing bad happened beside pushing for nothing for 3 hours. He had to be helped with forceps, but then he arrived quickly. I miraculously did not tear up and I could walk right away. Anyways, so glad to hear about your experience with Ezra :-)

    NO PAIN compares to giving birth naturally without epidural. I was the same. I asked for an epidural the entire time to later find out my mom told the anesthesiologist that I didn't want an epidural so I gave birth without it... She was scared I would get paralyzed if I got it. At first, I was mad but then I was like whatever, I have a healthy baby. I'll take it lol

    Hi, Jen! Congrats on both your precious babies. Can I ask how heavy they were when you delivered them? I’m about your size and everyone keeps telling me I’m gonna need a C section. Which I dread. Seeing you and how you had your normal delivery gives me a bit of hope. Much love ❤️

    I’m a few months away from having my second and I’m TERRIFIED of having too quick of a labor. I had an almost perfect delivery of my first and I hope it goes the same this time, though I’m sure it won’t. I would be all for only 2.5 pushes though. That sounds awesome. Loved this video!

    My first child was super traumatic also. (nicked my uterine artery, ended up in the ICU) my second was a breeze almost like yours. I never thought I would have a second child because of how traumatized I was. But now I have a beautiful 6 month old daughter.
    Thanks for sharing your story. Love the way you tell it how it is.

    I love listening to your birth story of Ezra. It’s so exciting when you get to the part where the doctor told you to stop, then ok final push! Hahha. I just had my second baby. (3 months ago). My second baby is also very different (easier and less pain delivery), but the recovery was a bit harder for me. I am now having back pain, sore legs, sore arms... but so glad your recovery is better than the first recovery!

  • @thaothai2036
    @thaothai2036 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    My recovery with my first was similar to yours. I tore really bad and took awhile to sit without pain. The recovery was so painful. I was so scared to have another baby after that experience. My second pregnancy my daughter came so quick almost 3 weeks early! Labored for 6 hours and she came after a few pushes with only a few stitches. Watching your video reminded me of how different both delivers were.

    Thank you for sharing ♥️ I had a 52 hour labor being induced early with a 3 hour “push” and developed severe anxiety afterwards, not to mention walking around the house peeing everywhere... my son is 1 now and we really want a second but I’ve honestly been really scared and traumatized from my first l&d experience. But your story gave me courage and hope again!! Thank you!! 💕

    When I had my first daughter, I was having a mild fever so I could not have epidural. When I had my second daughter, my contraction started quickly and delivered her in one hour and half so did not have time to use epidural. When my friends adored my bravery, I am like @&$-&@I did not want to go through that pain!!!

  • @310crazylil1
    @310crazylil1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Your labor would of been even faster without the epidural lol I've had 4 babies and all of mines were super fast. I couldn't get the epidural by the time I got to the hospital but my pain was never that bad. I was told after the 1st baby the 5-1-1 rule doesn't apply because labors are faster after the 1st. I was told that if I had constant contractions 10-15mins apart for more than an hr to go to the hospital especially because of my 1st delivery.

    He is so adorable just like Auria! I totally understand your experience with Auria. Im a small person and my baby was 3.67 kg, I had to have a cut down there and it took about 3 month for the feeling of pain and uncomfortableness to go away. However it is just the sweetest feeling when I hold my baby and see him smile at me. It is amazing

    This first part sounds like my first delivery, when we got to the hospital I was already 7cm dilated. From the time I felt contraction till I’m 7cm dilated was about an hour. I ended up having my baby naturally without the epidural, everything just happened so quick I had a 4th degree tear and they had to sew me twice. I’m going to have my second baby in April, my doctor suggest c section since I torn so bad the first time. I’m so scared because it’s a major surgery and I keep seeing news about people’s c section cut opens month after delivery.

I feel exactly the way you described your last experience.I’m having such a rough and painful recovery and am absolutely terrified to have another. Thank you for posting this, it gave me a grain of hope. My delivery was less than 4 hours from start to finish and my epidural didn’t really work.... so hopefully another one doesn’t happen faster
