    Troybilt 👍. Love mine. I bought the monster 3-stage Vortex many years ago. Still fires up on the first pull. And if you can get lights, a motorized chute, and heated handles.

    I've had a 2410 since 2014. I installed an impeller kit soon after I bought it and as if injecting steroids into the machine.i use mine commercially and never an issue yet! Other than regular maintenance and the use of fuel stabilizer this snowblower is as reliable as a hammer! Don't forget to do your break in oil change. Very important. If needing a light a simple head mounted light works well! 👍

    • @AmplifyDIY
      @AmplifyDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don’t have a video on that yet, but that’s a great idea for me to do this coming spring. In a nutshell: add stabil to the fuel, run it until it runs out of fuel, and then put it away for the summer. In the fall when you pull it back out, change the oil, and add fresh gas. Check for anything that needs to be lubricated. That’s about all these things need. Hope it works well for your this winter!

    I've had a 2410 since 2017, been a reliable blower with no major problems, I just recently switched to non ethanol fuel and will also be adding a fuel cut off. Also will probably do the impeller mod this summer, handles the heave snow well but the slush that the plows stack up at the end of the driveway is too much for it in stock form.

    Good snow blower, starts up every year and does the business. My only complaint is the chute adjustment arm doesn’t “grab” the shoot very well to turn it so I am often turning the chute by hand. This is even more so the case when the snow starts to collect near the chute gears. I feel like the chute adjustment arm - while simple - may not be properly designed.

    Snow blowers are “usually” pointless where I live - Portland. That is til last night... we got just over 10in... that’s the most in a single day I’ve ever seen here in a little more than 33 years.

    It seems old man winter waited until late in the season to hit my area this year. What's winter been like for you this year?

    • @AmplifyDIY
      @AmplifyDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm in the Pacific Northwest. Compared to my old John Deere this thing is much nicer to use. It's not as wide, but it also weighs a lot less and has enough power for the amount of snow we get here. Good luck with your decision - I hope you are as happy with whatever you buy as I've been with this one. Thanks for watching!

    • @AmplifyDIY
      @AmplifyDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I'm in the Boise metro area. This area seems to be a Jekyll and Hyde with winters. There have been years I've not even bothered to get the old snow blower out of my shed, and other years I've been REALLY glad I had one. They are spendy little machines though, so can be a hard decision to spend that much on something you rarely use.

    HEY ...that was me this morning...picked mine up Friday at Menards....other then all the card board and wood I have to scrap...it went together in about 20 minutes....does the rabbit and turtle ...fast -slow control . control the distance the snow is thrown??? Don't want to put out any windows on parked cars in front of my house...

    • @AmplifyDIY
      @AmplifyDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Joe - the rabbit and turtle just controls the throttle of the engine. You can adjust the aim with the discharge chute direction and the adjustable end at the end of the chute can be aimed down to keep the snow from being thrown high/far. Good luck this winter!

    • @joeknowz4898
      @joeknowz4898 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AmplifyDIY I understand that, but if the engine speed slows does the distance it shoots the snow shorten ??? Not like my single stage Toro I had to tilt the chute down and just aim closer to the edge of the side walks. I do three other homes on my block and my 100 foot driveway ( most of my driveway is between my house and my neighbors ) so I have to shoot it forward and then either onto my front yard or back yard...depending on which way the winds is working against me...LOL Thanks for the info....We has 24 inches in 6 days last part on January and the first week of February ...I about killed my back trying to go though the drifts of about 3 foot from the wind...NO MORE PUSHING !!!!

    can this blower be moved manually without starting it, say if you need to move it to a new location your garage or shed?

    • @AmplifyDIY
      @AmplifyDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rob - sure, you can easily move it around with the engine off. The only note is that the rear axle does not have a differential, so both rear wheels are locked together. If one spins, so does the other. This can make it a little tricky to make tight turns on a garage or shed floor, but it's not too bad. Thanks for watching!

    What type of gas is recommended

    • @AmplifyDIY
      @AmplifyDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Regular unleaded, preferably without ethanol. If you can only find fuel with ethanol in it, then add a fuel stabilizer such as Sta-Bil to your fuel. At the end of winter you should completely empty the fuel tank and carburetor to avoid varnish build up and poor engine performance next year. Thanks for watching!
