3:47 I went to check out Bailey Reserve Skatepark in Melbourne yesterday and saw one these for the first time too. Was confused at first but then I saw the little tools. Very smart idea!
I Skated the “old” Ramps decades back when the Ramp on the right had a massive Vert section above the transition that was taken down. It was huge. The Vert doubled the size of the Ramp. Not many of us back then could Skate it. It was bad news for those not up to it! I came from a background Skating big Ramps at home, the old Pymble Pool, etc back in the ‘70’s & ‘80’s. So a big Vert Ramp was easy. I wasn’t surprised when the Vert was taken down. Good to see a new Park there! Cheers!

That park is Gorgeous! Man I live in California, so we have great parks everywhere, but their so crowded they aren’t much fun I hope yours aren’t as crowded as ours

The board repair thing is really cool, hope they get introduced at more parks around the country. They would have to get monitored to some capacity though, god knows if people would try vandalise or steal the tools eventually. I'd hope people would have respect for new features but can never be too confident, if they haven't been a thing before there is a good reason for it.

I skated the original metal quarter pipes back in ‘87! They were the only ramps I knew of, except for the ultra kinked donut bowl in Allawah. We travelled half way across Sydney to skate them. Either way, I could only kick turn on them 😂 Will have to try out the much improved park shown here.
You talking about Kempt field donut bowl? I made my first awkward attempts at skating there as a kid before they filled it in, used to have a bunch of sketchy bmxers there back then
wow! what a blast from the past, I used to skate there in the 80s .I recall a good Chinese restaurant nearby & getting a big feed of fried rice to keep us going all day. the skatepark looks amazing now. I am in QLD now, we have heaps of great skateparks. great to see the improvements of skateparks in general now.

This looks like great park! I build parks in Canada for Transition Construction and Radius Contracting. The design looks awesome and the concrete finish looks really good! The reason the concrete is so polished is for speed and so the speed lasts. I know it is slippery at first but if you make it less polished it will be too rough and slow in a couple years.
Coming from a south American country these parks look too damn slick, feel like I would be slippin' around crazy! Wouldn't dare skate there with hard wheels! Cheers mate!
That park is so SO SICKKK!!! (both of them). And I believe more parks should be that unique & chill style anyway. Its more realistic in a "street" sense - which would translate better for kids when they leave the park and hit the streets. And overall better for beginners in general. Always wish I could build a park here in my hometown in honor of my bestfriend who died when we were in high school - not just for in his memory, but for the youth too (cause their aint really shit too skate here and only parks are hours drive away). Anywayyy if I ever can make that possible - would love to get this same company to build it or at least copy the plans of one already built such as the one in this vid. THAT WOULD BE ST8 AMAZINGGG!!! The obstacles are sick, and if you can skate between 9am and 3pm on a weekday you might have a prayer. Otherwise the design of a zig-zag line directly overlaid on converging straight lines is absolute madness. Last time I went, it might have taken the daycare title off Syd park.

As a returning skater I am kind of peeved that they are polishing the concrete. they have made skateparks more dangerous. If you need polished concrete to do your tricks than you havn't actually learnt them, they are too slippery and takes away the gratification of pulling of a trick while making it way more dangerous. Kind of peeved cause now i have to buy new wheels again to get a softer wheel which will screw me on the street
Yeah man brand new skatepark are so damn slippery but that original coat usually wears down after a couple weeks and it feels good 👌🏼 And I think they also do that so the ground holds it's quality long term 🤔
Low key dislike this park. The flow is so jank and lines constantly cross with others. Plus no regular flatbar or pad, all this slanted stuff , so its terrible for people trying to learn tricks.
