I LOVE seeing them swarm in slow motion. I’m allergic so when I see a swarm I call a Beeman and head inside. Watching them fly in slow motion felt like watching the most complex 3 dimensional dance. Truly beautiful, and startlingly organized.

Still amazes me, seeing someone scoop a big handful of bees, bare-handed. I was an 80s kid, and we were all raised to fear bees back then. I’m getting a lot better, but watching people like Yappy who are so confident handling them will no bee suit and veil and gloves still floors me a little.

This guy is unbelievable. He has changed my perspective and knowledge of bees by leaps and bounds. I have watched some of his other video's in the past week or so and yesterday, I was mowing my lawn and was mowing around a Rose of Sharon bush in full bloom with dozens of bees happily going in and out of the blossoms and even though I was right next to them they weren't bothered by my presence one bit. It was amazing. Very educational videos to say the least. What amazing little creatures they are.

Last time I handled a bee it was a few weeks back and I rescued it from a swimming pool as I was swimming along. It shook its wings off then flew around my head, landed on my shoulder, and stung me! Now I'm watching you grab a handful and basically nothing!
    What a world 🤣

Hey Yappy, I've got a 5 year old student who is terrified of bees. Like he'll run screaming and crying at the very sight of a bee. I've had many talks with him about bee behavior which hasn't sorted out his fear at all. So today I showed him this video, the part at 4:03 specifically when you are handling the swarm. He got very curious, kind of calmer, and was interested in why you were touching the bees and not getting stung. I told him not to copy you, but prompted him to understand that you know a lot about bees and are helping them find a new home so they can be safe and help our environment. It definitely sat on his mind and challenged his fear. Thank you for such amazing and educational content!

Let me tell you the story of C the B. I was sitting in the car eating a biscut with jelly and one bee kept flying around trying to land on stuff and getting in the way. I took the lid off my drink, squeesed out a bit of my jelly on it, and convinced her that it was safe. She sat on my knee and ate until i had to leave and she happily flew away.
And that was how i met a bee named C

Well, she might have, Yappy is pretty tough. But he's also pretty smart so he had her so when she could she was only able to strike his fingernails (too tough there) and he was very careful of her, as the whole colony depends on her to continue. At this stage, losing a queen would be fatal to the swarm, unless they could return to their former colony - which is not always possible. So he was careful, and then caged her to keep her safe for a few days until he can get them housed properly.
