Looks promising, however now Suzuki are back in the game, the DRZ400 has the appeal of simplicity, no complex electronics, just a couple of engine maps plus ABS & no traction control. Personally I would take simplicity and light weight over multiple traction controls, cruise control, quick shifter and TFT screen any day. The Suzuki with a minimal tower would get my money every time, and for the same reasons I would take the Suzuki over the MT450 also.
This bike isn't in competition with the drz. While this can go off road no one is buying this bike with intentions to spend large amounts of time on small tight trails for hours on end. I'm guessing most of these will see only a fraction of dirt on a constant basis. I question the purpose of the drz in general. It's not the best on road and it's still a pig in the dirt so, what's the point? Why not get a better dual sport if dirts your thing? I'm just glad we're getting a few more options. I don't want to lift 400+lbs on the street or dirt. I wish they'd focus on all bikes losing some weight.
My friend had a DRZ, I own a Svartpilen 401, He’d smoke me on grave and trails, but I’d roast him on the twisties and country roads. You we always had a blast riding where ever we went! 🏍️
I have ridden 31,000 km with my 390 Adventure in three years. I love this small, uncomplicated bike for traveling and enduro hiking. I will buy the 390 Adventure R if the seat height is right for me.😍

The windscreen and big fancy display are nice, but couldn’t they have been lowerd and not standing out there like the Statue of Liberty? I do like the 6 speed and cruise. Let’s hope the price isn’t way up there. It is only a 400cc for Gods sake! Others it competes against are 450 etc etc. Im still a little worried about KTMs financial situation?

The KTM 390 Adventure R is not a rally bike bro. It is an adventure bike. And, no one even knows what KTM suggests as an MSRP, if the bike even gets released depending on if KTM survives and continues to exist as we know it.

I am not holding my breath. KTM does not listen to their buyers. KTM charges you a subscription for features already on their bikes, they still have quality issues, and you have to fight them to honor their warranty. KTM has their own bullshit going on. So, they don't really have a flex over the DRZ4S, even with everything you mentioned, will still be lightyears more reliable, with continued less expensive and longer maintenance schedules compared to KTM. Where is KTM's flex when you look at the whole picture instead of cherry picking positives for them and negatives for Suzuki??
@@SuPreMeBikeRs can not compare kove450rally and cf450mt. First is a rally bike, second is an adventure bike. 1 cylinder vs 2, totaly different suspension and frame,weight and weight distribution. You can compare cf moto 450mt with Kove510x for example. Or Honda cb500x. All around 195kg, twins, some better on,some better offroad. So, ktm 390 is basicly a one cylinder adventure bike. For sure not rally bike. Competition is: re hymalaian,Honda crf300 rally, Suzuki drz400.

Even people living under rock know that. For us, if you are anyways enthusiastic, you would have known, ktm has a lot of up and know how against their name. So ktm will continue to exist regardless of owner. Also the reason of bankruptcy is not ktm solely but the brands that ktm own like Husqvarna, GasGas, Raymon, Felt, Kiska, Avocodo, and MV Agusta. So if you are in market then you know Husqvarna never ever sold decent enough numbers and same for mv augusta and for other brands. So ktm will continue to exist but they have filed for bankruptcy to let go some of the loss making brands the purchased. Same as with tata they faced when they acquired jlr. Maybe thinking beyound news.
In India even for parking bike you’ll have to pay tax, parked and looked back at your bike you’ll have to pay tax. So maybe there won’t be enough sales in India 😢

For 5900€ 3 years warranty, 2 years assistance 0 km, I can get a QJ SRK 550, same weight 176 kg wet, 550cc twin 270°, better equipped, nicely made, round easy engine 2 disks 320 mm Brembo in front and more interesting, the cherry on the cake, 61 hp, that puts 14 hp more. No match. The KTM 390 Duke has persistent problems of reliability on some bikes, looks cheaply made, ugly colors, vibrations, 6800€ in France, and worst disastrous KTM warranty. The CFMoto 450NK, 450cc twin 270°, 47.5 hp, almost the same weight, nice colors, nicely made, is 5600€. For 300€ more than the 450 NK there is also the QJ SRK 550 61 hp. No match.
