It doesn't make sense to him that someone can be mean and strong while being kind and loved by others. His philosophy is that there are only winners and losers yet Arthur is winning while at the same time being a better man than him. He wants to compete with him. Who's the big bad gunslinger among them. Micah is trying to prove that by being a ruthless killer and it angers him that someone kind and loving is more dangerous than him.
“I feel bad for you, Arthur. I feel bad for you. Sickness seen to have got to your brain.” That pause between lines doesn’t sound disingenuous and actually sounds truly sad in a way. He is one of the few to acknowledge Arthur’s sickness.
There’s a camp encounter in Beaver Hollow where you can sit down with Mary-Beth and Arthur tells her he’s sick. It was nice to discover that in my most recent playthrough

@@MO-zk8qspretty sure it's motion capture, you can swing the camera around to see arthur so they probably figured there's no point in having it look bad. i've had plenty of encounters with people in camp where arthur looked like his head was having a fit tho
I love how these scenes (more specifically the first scene) had a more playful/friendly banter than most of their interactions throughout the whole game, if I didn't know anything else about Micah and Arthur except by judging this video I would've figured they were best friends lol

What's real sad is that even though Arthur's last priority was to save john and his family from that life, they still got dragged back into it Maybe arthur really couldn't save john, but he did save some other folks, Charlotte, Dawn's family maybe, but he couldn't save who he tried his best to save.. Making gameplay scenes cinematic must take a lot of effort. But boy, is it fresh. There's HOURS of scenes just like this that can be made cinematic. My thought is you go through these scenes over and over somehow, but with different camera angles. If not, I'd like to know how. And definitely consider doing this to much rarer scenes.

Off topic. But if you’re on PC and have the Rampage Mod. Use it to spawn animals in camp. I spawned a couple of Panthers. The first beelined for Dutch, and the second Dived on Micah. It was hilarious to watch. 😂 Plus Micah dropped on of his revolvers that I was able to pick up.
I've seen video games with hundreds of gigabytes worth of DLC. Red Dead 2 has none and I'm still seeing new things years later. Can't say the same for another game.

He’s a victim of his own philosophy. he took Darwinism to its logical conclusion: life is meaningless, all you can do is de and take from those weaker than you until someone stronger than you shows up.
