This is an amazing video with incredible footage of the 48's. I especially enjoyed seeing a glimpse of my old family home near Troy Junction 48 and 38 together was a sight to see and I remember the days when a rail motor would skim our backyard on its journey between Dubbo and Gilgandra with waving passengers. The noisy "loose" shunting at the old Dubbo Abattoir was very exciting for this 3year old trainspotter.
The 48's served with distinction. They sure proved their worth and rendered yeoman value.
I must say that I liked the vision of 3801 passing the freight train. Thanks for sharing.

I love these ALCO's but the horn in that first clip sounds like the clarinets warming up in band class.
Still love the sound of the 48.... and 3801 just sounds business. awesome footage.
Fantastic footage. The 48 upset your 3801 departure, but I prefer looking at those dinky blue things anyway!
fantastic ..especialy the green steam train.
Can't beat the ubiquitous Class 48
Thanks mate
