My girlfriend and I have lived together for a year and honestly the best part of our day is getting in bed together and snuggling ourselves to sleep. Even with a bed that we know is prob a bit small for us, we couldn't imagine not sleeping in the same bed together. It's so calming and relaxing and I can speak for both of us, that it releases much of our stress. It's good to know this works for some couples tho and respect those that have made it work.

I can see how if you live you whole life so independently as Jeanie has, it's weird to break your routine. I can imagine walking in and seeing someone's shoes out of place, and it driving you crazy.

Jay Mohr, the sports jester and Jeanie Buss, the Queen of the Lakers. You can tell they're both very happy with each other and at peace.
So happy for Jeanie! I've had the same relationship for 18 years and we have seperate places too. It's wonderful and just works for us.
Probably best that Jay has his own bathroom.
My girlfriend and I are similar to Jeanie and Jay. She (my girlfriend) and I haven't slept in the same bed for a full night. We tried to do it multiple times but there were all sorts of problems i.e. not enough space for both of us (I can't buy a new bed due to financial restrictions), snoring/talking in our sleep, etc. So after about the 4th time we were like "One of us will sleep in the bed and the other will sleep on the sleeper sofa pull out in the living room." We have had some arguments about it but eventually we felt it was best. Sleeping together is hard, especially if someone like myself have not really been used to sleeping with someone (I never slept with any woman prior to my current girlfriend).
As for Jeanie and Jay, glad they can make that work. Not many couples can do that these days. For that matter sleeping together is almost like a deal breaker for couples.

Jay is okay with this because Jeannie is rich and the owner of the lakers. But the average man isn’t marrying a woman to then sleep in different units or bedrooms. Some after years of being married do it but it’s a very small minority. And living in different apartments is even more rare.

My fiance and I have discussed this. When we buy our house after we are married, we'll TRY the same bedroom, but I really think we'll have seperate rooms eventually, and only sleep together when we have guests staying.
