I think one of the biggest reasons that they added equipment (which made the game very easy) was because TH15 was insanely difficult, even pros got 1 stars MULTIPLE times in esports, so they tried to make the game easier but took it too far. and the reason they wont fix this problem is because its generating them a lot of money and it makes people feel good about themselves.
Problem is double rage tower setup is ridiculous if you have default equipment, it was rough during th15 but now with merged cannon and archer tower its crazy strong if you cant remove with fireball or boots n ball on king, a well built base is near impossible to triple for the casual and even good player (i said good player not pro level)

Maybe this game is already not for you. you focus on a lot of game a hard one. Just like playing Mario game on Nintendo, then suddenly you're a fan of a RPG or MMORPG on PC or PS5.
New players don't know the era of us learning to 3 star TH6 bases with just Giant and wizards. New players directly rush to TH11 to spam e dragons. Supercell has done it very easy for them actually. Rush to a townhall, use power potion and hero potion. That's it. Previously only 5 levels will be added to your heroes. That was the best. Atleast they needed to grind heroes. Now it's very easy.
Not only that! I took a 6 month break and when I come back the air units especially edrags and dragons were all buffed, no wonder why players are now spamming them again in wars.
Gotta love how in all supercell's games there's always the same issue: Absolutely trash balancing. If balancing wasn't a problem this game would be, hands down, one of the best games on the playstore. But whatever, you know what they say: You either die as a hero or live long enough to become a villain.
@mjolnir6685 Equipment was such a bad addition, it's insane powercreep but also locked behind a paywall to screw over f2p players They could have made a smooth scaling with the town hall but instead, if you pay enough, you can (almost) max it out at mid town hall levels and heros easily solo bases, disgusting
@@Wavinto I never really liked the idea, they obviously did that to nerf the defensive heroes and to massively buff offense, but obviously make it so that f2p players spend ages to max and upgrade them, so people will have to pay money to have an overpowered army, and then nerf the equipment a year later. Classic supercell strategy.
Th15 was the pinnacle of Clash of Clans esports tbh both defense and offense were fairly matched but yeah the casual players were the ones that suffered a lot and that hurt Supercell in the financial aspect
They should have never nerfed all the defenses before th 16 came out if they were gonna give us OP equipment. U know the poison from town hall use to last 16 seconds. Now it's 12 seconds. The rage spell tower had larger radius. Monolith did more damage. Scatter did more damage. Hero potions only did +5. And cannons and archer twrs lost HP and DPS after th 16
I'd say TH15 was the best game changer and should have stayed as the final town hall to keep each level meaningful But you know, maintenance updates are needed because players complain about there being no content and supercell wants their gold pass subscriptions. Clash of Clans will never end and it will only make defenses ever more meaningless as upgrades keep piling up
I came back to this game 6-7 yrs later with a completely new account (cuz i lost my advanced old ones and also cuz i wanted to start afresh) and i can't believe how easy this game has become. troops train faster, doesn't cost elixir, there's events and stuff going all the time and you get bombarded with free potions (not complaining) and you end up with full storages all the time. i honeslty have come to a point that seeing my resources stolen doesnt make me feel bad anymore, cuz my storages are always filled to the brim. also i fully upgraded maxed out to th7 in like a month, like what!? back in the day that was just not possible. i mean yes its very fun, but sometimes i feel its gotten a bit too easy, if you know what i mean
The reason why it wasn't easy was because the game actually took skill and careful spending, nowadays a new player can come in and wipe y'all whole base because of cheesy broken troops.

It is fine. We old players will continue to max our defenses and work on the layout. Against good attacker respect to them. But for those newbies who rush and have no attack skill, good luck facing max out defense and base specifically to counter electro.
Unpopular opinion, i think the real challenge that everyone can seek is getting a 3 star from a Town hall above you , or maybe two town halls above. That’ll push you towards finding better army compositions and honing your skills
The achievement for the successful defense against raid will be the very last one remaining. Probably has the potential outlive the entire universe in real life.
Having hard mode in legends, CWL champion leagues, and as an option for regular wars would solve this problem for the competitive playerbase while letting casuals keep their easy 3 stars. Seriously, whenever two at least decent clans fight each other in a war, it will almost certainly be a draw.
I remember a time where the kids in the same street was in the same clan. We were competing with other streets in friendly wars. Now, those clans are dead with few to none still playing.
So, I'm a veteran player who really got into clash in the good old days (was a part of one of the OneHive clans back when Jake from OneHive raids still made content for the game), who quit for a few years before resuming for a few months in 2021 and then quit again and have just come back to the game. My main is a newish town hall 12 at the moment, and I find it so interesting how different the experience feels when it comes to defense. Kind of a long read and rant below. Back in the day, I distinctly remember how I had gotten super into the game specifically because of the war scene and it's defense aspect. Designing a base to try to resist multiple different attack strategies from 3 staring you, or the bait a particular strategy from an attacker was so much fun and engaging. For reference: I was a TH8 going to TH9 when TH10 was the highest level, and I was a mid/late TH9 when TH11 came out. Back when the highest THs were 8/9/10, I remember our wars would come down to TH8s being able to 3star TH8s in 1 attack to be able to scope for TH9s, who would then try to take out TH9s in 1 attack and then either try to scope a TH10, or get a 2 star on a TH10. 3 stars at TH10 were insanely difficult because of the inferno towers, because back then inferno towers blocked all healing effects on your troops. So a unwalkable multi that was difficult to funnel into made QCs not feasible, infernos around other high HP buildings made standard armies like GOWIPE difficult because they'd either melt the golems or the support wizards. Back when TH11 came out, the warden's ability was seen specifically as a way to brute force through an inferno without rages and freezes. Soon after, however, TH10s's infernos were nerfed and some new troops added which made getting 3 stars on TH10s easier. The higher level and stronger troops that could be donated to TH9s also made them easier, and TH8s became a joke (The revamp to the lightning spell that made it a 1 slot spell with slightly lower damage and radius added to this, allowing you to take out 2 of the 3 air defenses and then mass dragon the rest of the base). Suddenly, the dynamic that existed between THs 8/9/10 in wars now only sort of applied to THs 9/10/11, where getting a 3 star on a TH9 went from an accomplishment to a non-failure. i.e. If your TH9 held up against 1 attack by another TH9, your base was considered very very good. This was kind of disappointing. I had hoped that the balance would have been backwards compatible with Th8s and below. As I moved to TH10, TH12 came out and with it came siege machines, and now TH10s were like the new TH8s when TH11 had released - relatively pretty easy to 3 star. As a fresh TH10, this was when I first quit. I felt like progressing and learning newer and more complex base design to prevent 3 stars at later THs was just not a thing. It was inevitable that the attack power creep would make any but maybe the top 2 townhalls, not a walk in the park to not 3 star- where your defense levels and layout really didn't matter. I came back to the game maybe a month after TH14 was released, as I had more free time on my hands. I immediately knew that the balance at TH10/11/12 was just off. TH10s were getting 3 starred left and right from 10s of different attack strats. I decided to move to TH11 a little sooner than max after my heroes were done and see how the balance was over there. TH11's balance, to my surprise, wasn't as bad. It was close to the TH9 scene when TH11 had just came out- i.e. you wanted to base design to prevent getting 3 starred in 1 attempt by another TH11. This was interesting enough that I relearned all the new intricacies of base designing for TH11 and found myself a fresh war clan willing to learn. It was at this time that I also started a mini account to look for small community highly competitive friendly wars, and the TH9 scene here was very reminiscent of the good old days. I found clans doing 5 v 5 and 10 v 10 friendly wars at TH9 with multiple troop restrictions (no CC, no more than 4 golems and pekkas, no more than 5 dragons, etc.) and the wars at both TH11 and TH9 were fun. I had to quit again for a while after my main moved to TH12 because of family reasons, and have just returned right after TH17 release and TH12 feels like TH8 all over again in the TH11 being max days. The new hero equipment, high level troops and siege machines make three starring and getting 3 starred absurdly easy. Hero equipment in particular, feels very bad, both from the defensive base designing stand point and from a levelling up heroes feels like a chore stand point. Now, you're saying, that upgrading heroes no longer has the added benefit of getting their abilities stronger over time, but that their abilities are adjustable, in some cases, unbalanced, and has an entirely separate resource that I have to account for and gather? In theory, I don't mind the hero equipment. I think being able to customize your hero's abilities to suit your needs is cool. In practice, I think some of the abilities are just too strong (football, stomp boots or the gauntlets for the king in particular), and I hate that they have to be levelled separately from the heroes. They could have just implemented the system as is without the extra resources, but made the new equipment much harder to get (kinda like what a legendary card in clash royale used to mean), and let the hero's level determine the level at which the equipment's ability works, kinda showing that the levels of the heroes represent their expertise with a particular ability. Going to grind out TH12 in 2-3 months and then move to TH13 to see what the balance is like over there.
I have won so few defences over the years now that i dont even have the first achievement unlocked for winning on defence. Its really depressing when you see that your best base makes people get 80 percent at best
yeah after coming back to the game, it has felt too easy when attacking. I remember back in the days when a 2 star was actually a good result and the wars were a lot closer rather than you either win with a perfect war or you draw with a perfect war. Though there is a benefit i've noticed in that since we have a clan just with our friends (in which some of them were newcomers to the game) meaning that we can coordinate a lot, we have overperformed in the clan war leagues as the siege machines allow us to optimise our stars with our lower guys, th11 and 12s and new 13s to 2 star the other clan's top players (usually th16s) so that the higher guys can 3 star bases that they can 3 star. Granted we've reached as high as crystal league 1 only because sometimes the other clans were dead. When all other clans were actually alive like what's happening in our first crystal league 1 cwl, we're getting decimated. Hell in the last cwl, we barely managed to snag 2nd in crystal league 2. Without the siege and equipment, we probably wouldn't have been able to reach as high as we did. It also enabled some intense strategising especially during the time when our new players were around th7.
i just started CoC like 3 months ago and Im in TH9. I heard that mass dragons are good and i cant believe how easily I can 3 star a base. This shouldn't happen given i am not strategizing a lot. Once i got rid of the Air defense its over. Over the course of 3 months, i also only got around 5-6 defense battles where its not a 3 star. You can call that poor base layout but IDK.
They keep making the game easier, now it's pretty brainless. Inferno Towers used to block all healing effects on troops being attacked by it, meaning it could be a very real problem as any troops wandering into range of an IT could essentially be isolated from the rest of your army. Troops can now be healed while being attacked by the IT. Hidden Teslas used to deal double damage to Pekkas. Now they only deal full damage to Pekkas. Troops and spells used to cost actual elixir to train, meaning unless you wanted to be at a net loss, you had to take home considerably more elixir from attacks than you spent. Now troops don't cost any resources, so now I can spam braindead strategies like all Valk with rage to run players over without a second thought.
i remember planning and watching videos about skelly donut for HOURS to use it on war attacks, you for real needed to count tiles and do it timely precise, now all complex armys are obsolete…
introducing hero equipments is the biggest factor that totally destroyed the game's balance. They are just super powerful and no defence can hold against them. They just need to buff defences and nerf equipments asap
I got back into the game like a year ago and got to th11 in a month without rushing and spent a few weeks on th11 and I just downloaded the game back after a bit. I haven’t won a single defense.
The game is alot easier now. First, they removed the reload option of traps and defenses. Then removed the cost of armies, reduced barracks, then theres hero equipments and then now, hero altar Before, i actually felt like i was running the village and can cause bankruptcy if i didnt attack properly. Now, i am just there. And i kid you not, i stopped COC for a while and the barracks which i maxed after a long time, were gone. Almost wanted to rage quit after seeing them gone
I'm still a newer player myself, but the other major problem I see making rushing so effective is that the old defenses feel super outdated after a point. Just update your powerful defenses because it doesn't matter if your archer towers and cannons are low level. They just aren't impactful enough at the teen town hall levels I'm at. So the stuff you have the most of feels the least impactful in your defense.
So when a player targets your powerful defenses what’s left to stop a three, definitely not those level one old defenses, their just as important as the powerful ones
I have always noticed this. I almost NEVER win any defences no matter what base I use. And every clan war is only decided by which clan is more active because otherwise it’s always a row of 3 stars.
I like this cause my base isn’t rushed and my troops are max leveled and if I want to make money I come across a rushed base and I make a lot of money 😂
It's not even enough, now good players are erasing max out TH16 in 1m30 even in hard mode(Take a look at the last world CWL...) I don't say it's easy, but the fails are only on well designed bases(Biggest teams have pro builders)
@@PxP_Aquila those players are pro that's why they are in the championship but if you look at the 2024 world championship many players failed their attacks. Also they made th16 easy cause th15 is too different
Th15 meta was a gem what you are saying is outrageous c1 hitrate was like 26% smth or even less which is crazy even pros were getting 1stars in esports by far the hardest th there ever was and ever will be.
Personally (I'm a f2p casual), I think 3-star should be hard. Clan wars would be better if you had more 1 and 2 star wins, as it would increase the strategy if you find you're slightly mismatched. Just focus on TH for a 1 star? It gets boring when both sides have full stars.
Now, you can also create difficulties for yourself in attacking three stars. Try attacking 1-2 lvl above tank hall. Then you will definitely need tactics and all the skills. Although of course it should not be like this
I started this game in 2016, Aug with my clg friends 5-6 of us, each one had 2-3 IDs so that we could participate in a 15v15 war, and during our free periods we used to combine our benches at the last used to strategies each and every top opponents and then we used to attack and that hard earned 3 star was so boosting that we would run from one end of the corridor to another like madmen. Like we scored a crucial goal for our country in fifa. Those were the days I still remember the loss was taken seriously and there were 2 friends who were specially base designers among us they used to set traps by analysing previous wars. Now each and everyone of us just look at the game like what shit has happened to this, now we don't even play this shithole. RIP CoC.
A big joy in the game WAS that I could build a good defense and see attackers fail when attacking me. That worked on lower town hall levels. But after reaching town hall 6 or something like that, it doesn't really matter how I build, because the attacker can usually 3-star me. Meanwhile, I seem to fail at attacking because I just can't find viable strategies that work, so I guess this game isn't really for me. I thought I was good at strategy games but this game makes me question that very much because the troops never do as I intended. I know they have their own semi-AI, but it still doesn't really help. I look at strategy videos but I still suck at attacking.
The game is honestly is a really bad state. Base building is pointless nowadays . At every townhall, it’s far too easy now, base building is pointless, upgrading defences doesn’t seem worth the time anymore. There’s no competition or drive now to even do anything. It all seems for nothing because the defences just can’t cope with the offence .
How many people have cleared the 5000 defenses achievement? I STARTED playing when the game was about a year old, and I'm still nowhere near it. And for just 100 gems, I have no real need/desire to finish it. Defense has NEVER held the advantage in the game. And the achievements PROVE it.
At 4:52 did you just say th15 was easier and had more 3 stars than th14? Are you kidding me? Th15 was way too hard and the number of 3 stars in esports decreased by a lot. Getting only 200 trophies a day in legend league was considered good at the time. Also I heard that when th10 was the max town hall, it was so hard that if you got a 3 star, people would accuse you of cheating and usually they would be right. You also completely ignored the fact that hard mode exists and does get used in esports, and supercell are planning to implement it in parts of the game like higher legend league. Actually do research instead of making things up and churning out negative slop videos that are only made for views, and completely ignoring any fact that doesn’t support your point.
Weak defences is an overall strategy by supercell, it gives everyone the satisfaction of 3 starring attacks. If it was the other way round people would get bored and stop playing.
I can suggest to buff damage of defences by 40% and HP by 20% in home village?? Also Builder base 1.0 was a great example of how the ballance must be - there was true rival between players on who will get more % of damage before devs killed BB and i left game compleatly after!
Id argue that its always been easy to 3 star since the beginning of the game. Th6 used to be the 3rd highest town hall and had only one air defence. Mass giants with healers was the strategy, it was almost impossible to lose. Th7 mass dragons, same. Th8 tske your pick, mass hogs, mass dragons, gowipe, etc. almost guaranteed 3 star far before hero equipment. Th9 mass dragons, balloonion when lava hounds were introduced, mass valks, mass witches especially was completely broken. Th10 was actually hard because infero towers used to block healing spells. Then things got harder with the eagle artillery and people started to queen charge. Afterwards pretty much any new troop became meta, miners, e drags, yetis, etc.
I think the main issue is actually the fact that protecting your resources doesn't actually matter at all, you loose almost nothing, and upgrading your defenses just mean that you'll be attacked by even higher level players. What I think supercell should do is limit the amount of times you can "search for a new opponent", make ALL defenses stronger, but then also making defense more rewarding by punishing players who don't defend their loot.
The reason why players rush their defense is not because theyre not getting punished enough its because they get destroyed anyways so to them just maxing troops has more value cuz they could farm better.
@@apdroidgeek1737 I don't think people understood this well enough. For example, I am a new player almost a month in and on TH8, the old folks want me to spend 9-10 years coz they wanted me to max everything before upgrading the TH? Like what? Yes it's true that they reduced the upgrading time whenever there's a new town hall, but will that be a new player friendly? I also understood their nostalgia growing up on this game spending year after year of casual gameplay, but how would this attract new players if they didn't change it? It's like 90% of the old players are the ones gatekeeping the game and then complain
I'm in th12 and attacking was getting kinda boring, so now I'm trying to master barch with goblins, giants, and wall breakers to make it more challenging. It's been really fun so far
My Jezz, why not either increase the victory requirements for first star ⭐ from 50% to 66% (2/3 destruction) or add 30-50% more walls with the strategic options to add a wall above another wall?
You have wrong info the electro dragon was initially released together with th 12 in 2018 but was later moved back into th 11 because th12 had way to many features and was hard to unlock the best troop for a long time.
why not allow defending heroes to use hero equipment? Like Warden suddenly casting Eternal Tome to make structures invulnerable (but in less time) or the Archer Queen with Ice Arrows, etc.
this alone, along with defending pets, would make attacking MUCH harder and actually give bases a chance at defense…i really like your idea, and yeah, i threw in the idea of defending pets as well, if heroes are going to be OP on offense, they deserve to be OP on defense too…another potential idea is army camps having a couple extra housing space seperately for defense where you can put defending troops, basically like the guard post in the builder base, theres a lot you can do to improve defense without adding any new buildings
And cannons and archer twrs lost HP.
I really wish you actually had legitimate buildings to make your village an actual village. It's a compound more than anything. If there were more buildings, you'd actually need to plan things and defenses would mean something again, since most key defenses are wiped in a matter of seconds anyway as it is.
Super cellshould take this at immediate issue and watch this video and fix the issue by increasing the heat points of the attacking buildings of the base more than more than in town hall 13
One of my main concerns are the walls. They are pretty much useless now especially with spells, troops, and hero equipment that can destroy them with ease. Additionally, the upgrade cost is really expensive for just one wall especially in higher THs

Need to look at the average to get a better view. At TH15, average hit-rate in promatches was still 50-60%. They were tripling and getting 12-13 stars in 5v5 on average. Not too hard imo
I honestly don't see the problem with 2 stars in pro level. Better that than the drive for speed.

Now it's very easy.
so true
I remeber times for actully thinking on th 7 where to drop dragons, rages, cuz lightnings was kinda bad.

@mjolnir6685 Equipment was such a bad addition, it's insane powercreep but also locked behind a paywall to screw over f2p players
They could have made a smooth scaling with the town hall but instead, if you pay enough, you can (almost) max it out at mid town hall levels and heros easily solo bases, disgusting

Unpopular opinion, i think the real challenge that everyone can seek is getting a 3 star from a Town hall above you , or maybe two town halls above. That’ll push you towards finding better army compositions and honing your skills
That can't be done for players already at the max town hall.
On my th12 alt, getting a 3 star against a max th13 is easier than getting a 3 star against a main th16 on my main which is maxed

A shoutout to the creater for addressing this core issue. Felt, impressive video sir

im still at town hall level 8 and i upgrade defenses and it dosent do anything
Reading your comment made me realise the game was so damn addictive back in 2015/16

I am no longer played this game,,
but back in my days, winning clan wars is about how to gain *2stars* on the enemy's strongest bases.
yeah after coming back to the game, it has felt too easy when attacking.

5:07 red king is mad at bad supercell decisions 😂
I'm still a newer player myself, but the other major problem I see making rushing so effective is that the old defenses feel super outdated after a point. Just update your powerful defenses because it doesn't matter if your archer towers and cannons are low level. They just aren't impactful enough at the teen town hall levels I'm at. So the stuff you have the most of feels the least impactful in your defense.
So when a player targets your powerful defenses what’s left to stop a three, definitely not those level one old defenses, their just as important as the powerful ones
After I came back to clash like a year ago I started 3 starring townhall above me and I was so confused from how easy it was
They were rushed, your at a low th level
and there is still that one guy 3 townhalls ahead of me and somehow only 1 star 💀
"Look how they massacred my boy" has never been so real
Now a day's they only focus on attacking Defending is useless like u said Only Goal is to make Real Money
If u will be famous one day I was a subscriber since u had 3200subs :)
That's why supercell added hard mode
It's not even enough, now good players are erasing max out TH16 in 1m30 even in hard mode(Take a look at the last world CWL...) I don't say it's easy, but the fails are only on well designed bases(Biggest teams have pro builders)
@PxP_Aquila hard mode doesn't apply in cwl
@GunjanSarkar-ee8dq I was talking about the world championship, I made a typo. Synchronic Gaming crushed almost every base in 1m30/2min
RIP CoC.
This game lost all of its taste after 2018. I don’t know how this game is still alive
It is a good strategy/resource management game
I just wanna know who's the genius that decided we have to SUCCESSFULLY DEFEND against 5000 attacks...
I get 1 defense victory once every week
dude this man's videos are so fire
I have been playing for 10 years and it got me to 1700 defenses, so I dropped trophies to get defensive wins, now I’m at like 4900 defenses
They should add banning totem where it will teleport away a costumize target
Also the giant arrow does not wipe out half of the base
The video of a th10 3 starring a th16 was actually a th14
How was the builder base made to address defence being weaker? How is it relevant to the video at all?
Weak defences is an overall strategy by supercell, it gives everyone the satisfaction of 3 starring attacks. If it was the other way round people would get bored and stop playing.
You make good vedios please continue Love you from india❤

btw, I have been dragon smashing everyone since TH12
Clash of clans died when they removed global chat & now they even made recruitment for new clan much more difficult in the latest update.
I can suggest to buff damage of defences by 40% and HP by 20% in home village??
Also Builder base 1.0 was a great example of how the ballance must be - there was true rival between players on who will get more % of damage before devs killed BB and i left game compleatly after!
Remember maxing walls? Good old days
People who literally max their defenses just do so cuz they can boast about it lol
It's like 90% of the old players are the ones gatekeeping the game and then complain

why not allow defending heroes to use hero equipment?
Cause thats a horrible idea
That would be way too op
They should have never nerfed all the defenses before th 16 came out if they were gonna give us OP equipment. U know the poison from town hall use to last 16 seconds. Now it's 12 seconds. The rage spell tower had larger radius. Monolith did more damage. Scatter did more damage. Hero potions only did +5. And cannons and archer twrs lost HP.

I am from future and i can say that grinding to TH 16 and maxed out requirement to merge defense is a hot strategy
They don’t know the era of being th6 attacking with giants and wizards and what not
No joke we draw almost all our clan wars. We never lost but we always draw and only win when an enemy has inactive members or forgets to attack
I haven’t played the game for 2 years I remember when I left it was super difficult to three star and getting 2 stars in war was already a success, since I came back I saw people with th13s getting 3stars even on town halls 14s lol
