Priest is literally my favorite band besides Megadeth even inspiring me to be the artist I am today. F*** no it kills and pains me to think about how stay up and did that to him I listen to 2 hour radio interview with KK and he was shocked because it was sudden and without warning he thought that he could trust them and that they were his brothers his family and he's pretty much destroyed over it honestly it was shifty and just downright messed up I mean come on it's KK downing priest would never even be close to what they became if it wasn't for him and his talent but you can also listen to the live recordings of priest even on the sentinel back in the 80s and for some reason you can barely hear KK's lead in that it's all Glenn Tipton who am I honest opinion is a stuck up posh bastard and I'm not even British but I'm still saying posh and I would definitely smoke him like a fag when it comes to guitar even back in his prime Judas Priest is not really even the members of the band it's quite honestly a gift from God that no matter who is in the band even if every single member was replaced the music under that name with that particular feeling in vibe would will carry on until the end of time as long as the members believed in what they were playing and gave 100% to the music like KK Downing has. I have been a Jesus Priest fan since 1978. When we had Priest and Halford I was very happy because there were two bands sounding like the mighty Priest (actually Halford sounded more like Priest than Judas Priest itself); now I’m happy because we have, again, two bands with the Priest sound! I missed KK so much, It’s great he’s back
I had the misfortune of seeing Fight at the LA 2. Halford went from headline 2 dates at Hammersmith Odeon 6000 people (me twice) to playing to a largely empty LA2 Capacity 600. I never forgave him for that but Halford did get better. Fight war of words was Pantera, the second album was grunge, then the first solo album was industrial. 10 years after Painkiller was retribution I think, Halford was not the same singer at that point. 2 dates at Hammersmith on that tour. I only went once. So no he did not sound like Priest for a lot of that time, only the later period when he was desperate to get back into Priest. Now here we are 20 years later still loving the same band. It is odd how the roles have switched. I am sure Halford and the KK clone can come up with a good album but the lack of Tipton is really going to harm that sound. For me Priest was always KK and Tipton.
I can just imagine it. K.K. sitting at home listening to this... a roaring fire going in the fireplace behind him... while he tents his fingers and says... Excellent.
I, too, can imagine it. K.K. sitting at home, feet up on the coffee table, his steak and kidney pie baking in the oven, listening to this song and then Megadeth's "Holy Wars", then tenting up his fingers and going, "Sorry, Dave."
And this is the JP sound that I miss the most. Last two albums were good, Richie is great guitar player, but KK was the guy behind that specific Priest sound that I feel in love with.
In case anyone was wondering why Les Binks couldn't be with us for this album.... "Conversely, KK’s Priest is alive and vital. They have plans to tour later this year with some Ripper-era Priest songs tossed into the mix, and Binks hopes to make appearances at shows. “Les was able to do the short set at the Steel Mill,” says Downing. “But he had a wrist injury after that and wasn’t able to do the album. Les wants to jump on the stage and a play a couple of songs, although he is not going to be able to play a full set. He will be our special guest.” Let's hope he recovers from his injury and makes those guest appearances!
KK and Ripper are back and kickin serious ass! KK turns 70 this year is still tearing our faces off, love it!! I can't wait for the album to drop, hoping it's awesome....it could potentially be the most significant metal album in quite some time!
2 priests are definitely better than one specialy when THINGS cant keep the original lineup together :D imagine if they booked in the same town for a live show xD that might be confusing xD just a little bit
This sounds amazing! You can hear the influence KK had on Priest, the sound is unmistakable. Two thumbs up, hopefully the entire album destroys like this tune! KK is back with a vengeance!!!
Been playing Jugulator a lot recently. I enjoy almost every song on that album, except maybe ‘brain dead’ just was always difficult to get into, but I’m even going to give that more chances. Jugulator and that whole year of great metal releases (Dickinson, Priest, Saxon, Overkill to just name a few) was just a very sentimental time for me.
As a lifetime Priest fan, Rocka Rolla is and always will be a special lp for me. That said, i still wonder about Simon Phillips who was a mere 19 yrs old did a fantastic job of drumming on the sin after sin lp. Always wondered what priest would of sounded like if he stayed. And of course les Binks too.
I'm happy for KK. He didn't deserve to fade away into obscurity and this video proves that he won't. The album should be great, although I really was hoping Les Binks was going to be a big part of it.Best of luck to them though and I will see them if they tour America.

Glad they're making new music instead of sticking on to old Priest stuff. Sound really good too, a bit like Painkiller and Nostradamus. Good for KK he has a band now and good for Ripper to sing music suited to his voice. Awesome!

I love Firepower and have always been a huge fan of Halford and Tipton. I also love Faulkner and Sneap. But man, oh man, does this sound great. I believe I have sincerely underrated mr KK Downing, this is killer stuff!
Yeah. KK is responsible for alot of the older priest tunes ( ie- songs from Sad Wings of Destiny, British Steel, Point of Entry, Screaming for Vengeance). I always loved KK. I thought his solos had more feeling than Glenn's. Also thought Glenn was kind of a poser. But Glenn still is an amazing guitarist. Don't quite like the new guitarist's in Priest. Love KK'S new material. Love the band he put together.

This sounds amazing! You can hear the influence KK had on Priest, the sound is unmistakable. Two thumbs up, hopefully the entire album destroys like this tune! KK is back with a vengeance!!!
Jugulator is in my top 3!
Been playing Jugulator a lot recently. I enjoy almost every song on that album, except maybe ‘brain dead’ just was always difficult to get into, but I’m even going to give that more chances. Jugulator and that whole year of great metal releases (Dickinson, Priest, Saxon, Overkill to just name a few) was just a very sentimental time for me.
KK didn't "have influence" on Priest, he WAS Priest.

As a lifetime Priest fan, Rocka Rolla is and always will be a special lp for me. That said, i still wonder about Simon Phillips who was a mere 19 yrs old did a fantastic job of drumming on the sin after sin lp. Always wondered what priest would of sounded like if he stayed. And of course les Binks too.

I'm happy for KK. He didn't deserve to fade away into obscurity and this video proves that he won't. The album should be great, although I really was hoping Les Binks was going to be a big part of it.Best of luck to them though and I will see them if they tour America.

Glad they're making new music instead of sticking on to old Priest stuff. Sound really good too, a bit like Painkiller and Nostradamus. Good for KK he has a band now and good for Ripper to sing music suited to his voice. Awesome!

I love Firepower and have always been a huge fan of Halford and Tipton. I also love Faulkner and Sneap. But man, oh man, does this sound great. I believe I have sincerely underrated mr KK Downing, this is killer stuff!
Yeah. KK is responsible for alot of the older priest tunes ( ie- songs from Sad Wings of Destiny, British Steel, Point of Entry, Screaming for Vengeance).
I always loved KK. I thought his solos had more feeling than Glenn's.
Also thought Glenn was kind of a poser. But Glenn still is an amazing guitarist.
Don't quite like the new guitarist's in Priest. Love KK'S new material. Love the band he put together.
