KK’s Priest - ‘Sermons of the Sinner’ - 10 new songs available on CD disc, single disc vinyl with bonus CD album, digital download and via streaming - is a musical statement that KK Downing's heavy metal ride is far from over after his extended hiatus. “The whole concept is the fact that I continue proudly to be who I am and what I am and do what I do,” declares Downing. “It's been nearly 10 years. I'm back making music.” Downing assembled former Judas Priest singer Tim “Ripper” Owens, Hostile guitarist A.J. Mills, Voodoo Six bassist Tony Newton, and DeathRiders/Cage drummer Sean Elg to create Sermons Of The Sinner.
Downing says the word “sinner” in the album title refers to his famous solo in that classic song of the same name, noting that fans are always hoping for new music to sound like the Judas Priest classics. KK’s Priest's new material is most certainly an homage. They have unleashed an album with a modern sound that hearkens back to what fans have always loved about Downing and his music and which still sounds fresh. The high speed album opener “Hellfire Thunderbolt” offers a fictitious take on how metal arrived before the masses were ready for it. Rousing rockers like “Raise Your Fists” and “Wild And Free” revel in the passion and excess that metal fans embrace. The guitar interplay is intense and inspiring, and the band is firing on all cylinders.

The obvious JP nods are in this case TOTALLY VALID and JUST! HE invented much of what JP was and is. Now he's bringinging it to his great new endeavor. Gotta say, that drum line and break are fucking scrumptious. Great song/band!

Kk I've been listening to jp since the 70s. I'm 52 and wanna let u and the band know I'm loving what I hear. Mucho talent so keep the flames alive in heavy metal. Jp is not going to be around much longer.....its unfortunate that rob wants to compete with lady gaga!!! But you've always been the core. Even better than Tipton. U may disagree in favor of Tipton but I assure you I'd rather spend $140 on a concert ticket to see KKP Than to pay $10 to see jp. I'm serious!!! Got so much talent don't let it go. Love to hear your old material but want u also to know ripper has many gears when it comes to vocals.......let him RIP!!!!!

Exactly. Many get into music when they're young wanting to be cool with their friends. A lot of them 'grow out of it' when they get older. But when you reach midlife & are the only person you know still listening to it & people look at my music collection & think 'what a nerd', I just laugh to myself cos they really don't get it... As cheesy as it may sound, metal is a way of life, not a trend. The few & the proud live & breathe this shit for life \m/ \m/
I wonder how many people listened to metal in their teens, get into their mid 20s and think they've grown out of it. Later, in their 30s look at a long unplayed Priest, Maiden or whatever CD and think "haha, I used to be into this stuff", and put it on for a laugh. Then they go "Shit! I forgot how good this is!" and the volume goes UP! There's a lot of catching up to do...
I told it several times in different forums: when Kenneth is playing, all Gods stand steel…
