All in all I enjoyed the TBH4 Remake. The actors playing Mang0 and Leffen really looked the part and I applaud the producers decision to recast Mew2King in an attempt to add more diversity to the cast.

Zain is more like M2K. Everyone knows that he is great and he can beat everyone, but he does not seem to win the big tournaments.
Armada would win a lot more tournaments.
I think Zain is the most concistent player since Armada, he has hardly any bad losses (although he still lacks the big wins).

This is the best tourney in years, you had m2k returning with a great performance. Fiction beating 4 top 10 players, and of course mang0 with a crazy losers run. I thought mang0s run was over like 10 different times. Mang0 proves once again you cant sleep on the kid

Mango got zero to death'd in the first 10 seconds then came back to tie it up. That's where the stream picks back up. You can interpret the story pretty well from the graph they showed.

It makes sense. Most fighting games out these days usually reward the player for losing which is dumb.

It does make sense but I'm pretty sure the conclusion wouldn't be how some games reward "losing". Instead the point would be how in most games the player who makes less mistakes (or at least less impactful ones) automatically wins while here both players pretty much had to make good plays to close a game. Although in the interview Mang0 says he played "very safe" lol

I think the constant ledge grabs by Zain were a bad strategy. Although Mango going over to say hello was an even worse strategy.

Ultimate makes me feel like that too. I like both, but it's more fun to see more characters, unlike the same 3 we see here for 99% of the sets lol. (Again, Melee is awesome, but so is Ultimate)
NathanRW all opinion based. No other game delivers this kinda hype. If you’ve been following melee for long enough, a win like this is unexplainable. Maybe in the coming years ultimate could create this hype, but it’s too new of a game in my opinion.
That being said, ultimate is a great game (one I enjoy playing quite a bit), and leagues better than smash 4. That game was painful.

@@NathanRW I like playing Ultimate but it's so boring to watch. Garbo hit-stun/launch distance, limited combos, slow, etc. To me Melee will always be the best Smash game from a spectator POV

I think recently a top Smash player did tweet out that losses are hard and that you should give players space when they get knocked out. It wouldn't make sense to just immediately jump to anyone and try to comfort them when they just got second at a large event like this.

Mango in his prime is the greatest player to play the game melee. Won major tournaments with jiggly puff, fox, falco. Only player in history to win Evo melee 2 years in a row.
I would counter that with Armada. The most consistent player to ever to play fox and peach. I love both players though. It's crazy that they've both have played floaty characters to much success

Evo is the tournament that has the record of most attendance of any tournament in history. Armada lost evo 2016 being in winners bracket is embarrassing. Evo 2018 got swept by leffen 3-0 . So many players enter to compete and only one comes out on top. Yea it would’ve been better to see best of 5 games but in a big stage like that, it can be very time consuming for the venue. BUT NO EXCUSES, best of 3 for top 8 then best of 5 for winners, losers and grand finals. And that’s it, no room for mistakes. It’s about who’s the best at the moment in front of thousands of people when it really matters the most! So yes, it does matter.

2013- Mango
2014- Mango
2015- Armada
2016- Hbox
2017- Armada
2018- Leffen
To me I have Mango and Armada at tie but looking back I would slightly give it to Armada simply because he went to EVO grand finals 4 years in a row, that’s fucken crazy!

Such an amazing tournament! You can even tell it was so good by the crushing defeat players had especially Zain. One of my favorite tournaments ever it's 2nd just beaten by Evo 2016

I loved Evo 2016 I was 10 and didn’t know about melee and my uncle was able bring me there for top 8 and this game is the greatest thing to happen to me ever.
