I checked this just now, you are correct however the track on Wikipedia doesn’t show Francine as a category 2 storms, which means it must have been a cat 2 for under 6 hours or I’m missing something. I’ve done this with other storms before, one example is gamma and zeta in my 2020 Atlantic animation
Actually, it can be understood that this animation was made in a hurry, as Rafael was misspelt Rafeal and Isaac as Issac, and the large gap between the icon and the storm name/designation. It should have been better if Jay waited a bit and researched the real intensities of storms, as NHC declared Francine as a category 2 in the location update. Anyway, it is really smooth and good...
You forgot Chris. After Beryl and before Debby, there was Chris. We did not expect Beryl to become a Category 5 and cause that much fatalities and damage. The last time we had a hurricane starting with the letter B that would be retired, we have to go all the way back to 1991. And only 3 hurricanes with the letter B got retired. It's about time we get another one. Debby is also a name that could get potentially retired. It caused 8 billion dollars in damage, it impacted my place and I had to save my house from Debby flooding my basement. Edit: Debby is now a 12 billion dollar hurricane
I predict 2024 to become the 5th season with 4 names retired after 1955, 1995, 2004 and 2017. - Beryl (73 fatalities and 8.06 billion dollars in damage) - Debby (10 fatalities and 12 billion dollars in damage) (also the costliest hurricane in Canadian history) - Helene (120 billion dollars in damage, 234 fatalities and 26 missing) (might become the costliest hurricane in history) - Milton (85 billion dollars in damage, 35 fatalities and 6 missing)
@cyclonechaser0815 ofc some do, but its not the best option You should atleast have ONE difference with the nhc imo. Atp it's just agreeing with EVERYTHING even when they're wrong
@cyclonechaser0815 well, that also goes for having missed TD's Which 96L (the one after Gordon) was obviously a TD, most of the wx community agrees The nhc was being dumb and no one quite knows why It sustained for over 30 hours with good convection and had a defines center Its wind estimates were around 30 kt or so 92L in June has some arguments too considering it also had a defined center and had sustained convection for over 12 hours That likely would've been a TD if recon wasn't canceled when it was peaking in the night
It was, and it is stated at the end of the video in the seasonal summary that it did peak at 100mph. As a result of Francine only being a C2 for less than 6hrs, our animator has decided to keep it as a C1, but suggest it’s C2 peak at the end of the video 😊
Great job Jay! Although pretty sure Francine peaked as a category 2 lol

@HurricaneWilma25L yes it became a category 2 for around 1 hour prior to landfall that's why the track is like that
And you forgot Low Pressure System 08L but great job keep it up😊😊
@@thatguy0142 Info is from wikipedia, which the 08L track was not on the map.
Where is Chris

That was amazing! Well done, Jay!
Really nice animation. Keep up the good work!
Gee this is a good animation from a guy I’ve never seen on my fyp until now
Just for some inside info, if they go past the southern hemisphere or in the hemisphere they spawned in then the Coriolis Effect will tear it apart
This season is nostalgic
Great animation as always.

I doubt that the name "Debby" will be retired. Most hurricane names are retired because of their death tolls.
@@j2e0l1l3y Debby wasn't that deadly. Only 10 people died but it caused 12 billion dollars in damage.
@@j2e0l1l3yWell Debby now is the costliest cyclone in Canadian history beating Fiona in 2022, therefore likely to retire
Debby did the same exact fucking thing in 2012, I think Debby will stay
@@DaFloridaMapper Not this time. 12 billion dollars is a lot in damage and it became the costliest hurricane in Canadian history.
Oscar deserves an Oscar
Great animation!
A crazy season..
Yeah
absolutely.
Activity was strongest in very late September and in October, quite unusual!
Those in red are the ones that will be removed from the list?
No, they're the ones with most damages and deaths, but its very likely they will be retired next year.
W video gang
Agreed
How did beryl become category five in June beacuse it’s a crazy season
Exciting!!
Great job! I loved it.
minor spelling mistake, in the video description you misspelled "kirk"
Great animation, however, Isaac was spelled wrong.
Hurricane Kirk hit Portugal of category 4
It should and is definitely extra-tropical by that point... so no, I'm sorry...
also Debby, Ernesto, Kirk, Rafael and Sara!
Watch Beryl not even get retired... (it has a questionable damage toll to whether or not it will get retired is unknown by me)
It will be retired as a result of minimising the St Vincent / Grenadines GDP economy by 1/3.
@Black_VoidXx Good to know

Ernesto made landfall on Bermuda and you just.. ignored that it happened
4things Ernesto was a cat 3 Francine was a 2 and Alberto hit Texas good job
Ernesto made landfall in Bermuda why didn't u put a landfall mark on when Ernesto hit Bermuda..
Hi, how do you make season animations? And how do you do the name animation thing
I am planning on making tutorials on how to animate which will span over a few videos, this will be out at some point around early 2025
@@HurricaneWilma25Lim definitely gonna wait for that
I also have tropical cyclone animations, but not season animations
i cant wait for this!
Hurricanes or tropical Storms that nos afected my city(im not american)1.-Francine 2-Sara 3-Milton 4-Nadine 5-Alberto 6-Beryl 7-Helene
Maybe they all will get retired as well as Milton.
why did I think this was F13 at first? still good vid.
Francine as well!
imagine if Tony forms.
No bull shit 😂

Barely at Cat 2 for like an hour. Maybe more or less. I live in Louisiana in a city close to New Orleans I would know
I thought Chris hit Texas
I did a “but the storms talk” video on ur video, hope u don’t mind! If u do, I will delete it.
Did you just copy the nhc estimates? Some these are odd in My opinion.
You are quite allowed to follow the NHCs estimates. Most animators I can think of other than F13 and HCC do.

Kirk Was 150
