I wasn't around back then, but man 2005 was crazy! It was the 2nd most active ATL on record, had the most C5 in the ATL for a single season, having one of the most rapidly intensifying storms in the ATL, as well as having the most intense storm ever recorded for the basin! This was also the first season where Greek letters were used to name storms! Of course, there were some bad effects with this season as well. Dennis, Emily, Katrina, Rita, Stan and Wilma were all destructive storms (although Emily somehow escaped retirement). Katrina was definitely the most notable, its effects are still present today. It caused $125 billion US, tying it with Harvey for the costliest storm on record. Rita worsened conditions for the Gulf and Wilma literally exploded! We can't forget about Dennis and Stan, either. Although overshadowed, they were bad in their own ways. Dennis being very costly for Cuba and Florida, and Stan being deadly storm for Mexico, killing over a 1000.

A week or so after we got power back on, Jeanne made landfall 40 miles north of where I was and the power went out again, this time for over a month. Wilma took out the power again during 2005, but so much of the power infrastructure was brand new from the rebuild after Jeanne that it wasn't out for more than a week or so, if I remember right. There were blue-tarped roofs all over Florida for over a decade after those two seasons. Got lucky that Katrina was barely a cat 1 when it made landfall where I was. Crazy times.

2020: Murder hornets, riots, oh and wouldn't be fun to force people to stay home even longer!
Everyone: You know what? You are already bad. Let's just keep contributing to the dumpster fire
2020: Would you like 30 Tropical Storms
Everyone: Yes, do something exciting. Let's see how bad we can make this.
@@lukedetering4490 honestly 2020 is a good year for me. Quarantine was one of the best things that has ever happened
2027 FCX: You Called Me?
I lived thru Katrina in Mississippi... we had 37 foot storm surges. it was fun swimming in my living room. < please note heavy sarcasm
The season everybody has been waiting for

Tropical 28L (That formed 2 hours ago) is currently... ugh, going for Louisiana AGAIN!
1:50 "For a very long time" is right, if 15 years counts as "a very long time."
IT'S FINALLY HERE!

3. 2004 Atlantic Hurricane Season v3
2. 2013 Pacific Typhoon Season v2
1. 2005 Atlantic Hurricane Season v5
2013 is awesome
@@michaelreyrazote6899
Not as awesome as this!
I would include 2019/2019 WHMB on there aswell!
(In the same spot, they are equally as good)
@@Astervius
I’m starting to love the previous animations with the most recent icons a lot better.
Number 1. For me it's the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season for how crazy it was
2. 2005
3. 2021 Pacific typhoon season for having the Philippine names for the storms
4. 2022 Epac animation just because of how much it surprised many of us
Tie for 5 is 2013 Pacific typhoon season or the 2016 one lol
Wilma appears
Max Mayfield:I’ll be very surprised if it doesn’t become a major Hurricane. Wilma:Becomes a major Hurricane immediately after he said it
Legendary animation
To think that a tropical system was missed about midway through the season that would have been named, therefore, Wilma would have been Alpha. The strongest Atlantic hurricane on record would have been the very first to use a Greek letter. That would have been something!
If they caught it during the season like the did in post-analysis it would've been crazy!
Force Thirteen A great video and enjoyed watching!
2005: I'm the most active season ever
2020: hold my Sally
And Laura
Mr.Roman and Isaias and by the way we’re gonna get Gamma tonight probably
@@butteredsheep2876 jesus already?
Delta
eta
So,Eta is now a tropical storm i hope when the season ends, you make the 2020 Atlantic Hurricane Season animation lets see if another storms forms out and idk if we are going to have Omega,And yeah you are active on TH-cam now and you reached 60K Subscribers,Keep it up Force Thirteen Your animations are great!
Now a major hurricane
The moments we have been waiting for 3:27 5:39 7:13 8:52
I am from the future from November 2020 let’s just say October has a big surprise for us (RIP Georgia and South Carolina)
Hurricane Delta
No actually, Eta did some crazy damage to Florida and made landfall as a cat 3 hurricane and I’m from the future on Nov 20 2020
What scared the crap out of Houston with Rita is at one point, Rita was the third most intense Atlantic storm at its peak (before it got knocked down to 4th just a month later).
2005: I'm number 1
2020: Hold my beer
Yup
2005:No one can beat me in Named storms I have greek
2020:hold my disasters
Yeah
How was Emily not retired
Ya your not the only one who wants to see Emily retired
accordingly i think it was because of little deaths, had it been higher, Emily would have gotten the boot
i’ve watched this animation from rita to the end just because of the music.
When is 2005 Atlantic Hurricane Season V6?
no jk but it felt like a well-produced big budget documentary! Good job!
Thanks so much!
I think is 2020
The newscast was a really nice touch. I would love to see that for 2017 as well.
i second that
It did!
2005>2020
And you can't change my mind
5:00 my favorite F13 song of all time

what’s it called? what vid is it in?
We don,t know it’s not publish
I really want this to be used in the 2021 WMHB.
Everyone: *Talks about Katrina, Wilma, and Rita*
Hurricane Emily: Am I a joke to you?
Dennis:
Dennis and Rita are my favorite storms from the 2005 season.
Stan: I'm forgotten
Hurricane Beryl : YES
2020 has now gotten to Hurricane Zeta before November.
Yeah
@Jaleal Williams also Theta and Iota
As of September 15, we are ahead of 2005 by 5 storms. 5.
Yeah
My grandparents live in Metairie, LA and they got lucky their house didn’t get wrecked by Katrina. Took that city quite a few years to fully recover when we visited in the years after.
10:20 what is this song?
I don't know they made it
Rapid intensification or tune58 hope this helps a lot
Everyone: it’s not possible to have a season more active then 2005.
2020: ha my storms go whoosh
I watch this every time I am in the hospital and need an iv (Every 4 weeks)
Pssssss: I got another today, almost threw up!
Psssssss: Got another today! Almost got hospitalized before this
Pssssssss: I got another one yesterday! (Sorry I didn't post about it)
Psssssssss: I got another one yesterday! (This one I was very nervous about, but I was fine!)
Pssssssssss: I got another one today!
Texas Governor: We are prepared for Wilma and we are going to treat it as a major hurricane.
*Wilma and Florida: Say sike right now*
Harvey: Are You Sure Bout That
12:41 why does wilma post analysis have 195 mph winds?! thats legit hayian strength
it's a possibility it could have had 195mph winds
Haiyan was actually 200mph by Force Thirteen’s analysis.
Honestly, if you combined 2020 hurricane season with the 2017 one, you will get a 2005 season
2020 is like hold my warm water
About to get hit a second time. South Texas. Tropical Storm Wilford
Beta*
Wilfred*
I got hit by delta and Laura and beta.beat that
What was supposed to be Wilfred ended up being Beta.
Zeta 2005: Late-December
Zeta 2020: Late-October
2020 is now most active
Eta: Halloween
Whats the song called at 8:02
I believe it is called in sequence and can be found in part 3 of the music collection. The background for the music is flowing muddy water
2020 season is very active and number of storms is catching up
How on earth did Emily not get retired this season?
It got completely overshadowed by Stan for Mexico
The Name Was Not Chosen
Sohum Chatterjee then why retire Dennis? That was overshadowed by Katrina.
Danny Jarquin yes I know that
@@ErikCB912 Dennis caused serious damages in Cuba, while Emily impacted a sparsely populated area in the Yucatan
