I have the same issue. If I turn off noise canceling and transparency mode, then they work just fine. But the second those are turned on, there’s a high pitch noise and very loud static.
if you have a high squeaking noise, it is usually water in the bud, i recommend pulling a high frequency vid for getting rid of water, and blowing hard on the grate without the tip on, and drying the plastic tip with a paper towel and more blowing down the grate. if that doesn't work, try forgetting and repairing them, and then there's frankly not much you can do. i'd just buy some cheap earbuds like the kz es4's, and wait for apple to drop their new pro style airpods. if you still have a warranty or apple care, take them to your nearest apple store. i'm frankly not sure how that works, but i got applecare+ and was able to replace my broken parts (first a right airpod, then a case) for free.

Never use alcohol to clean your AirPod Pro. It will ruin them. Use water and soap. It's important not to douse your electronics in isopropyl alcohol. This can cause the liquid to seep into the device, which can damage sensitive components.
@Billionaire2040 I had an issue with my right AirPod Pro. I took off the ear piece like in the video, and it looked ok. But I pointed a flashlight at it, and saw there was a very tiny bit of hair or fuzz at the bottom of the dark groove around the speaker. Probably some pocket lint from when I was in a hurry and put my AirPods in my pocket without the case,. I didn't have a spare toothbrush with me, which I'm not sure would have been able to reliably remove it anyways. I used some tweezers which (barely) fit into the gap and extracted it. Problem fixed. Might want to check yours with a flashlight.

I’ve had my airpods pro for about three years now. I listen to music all the time and use them frequently. I’ve also dropped them on concrete before or just on the floor, which is most likely the cause to my issue. My issue with my right airpod in particular is that the bass seems to be all screwed up. It just vibrates in my ear sometimes very loud and it is unbearable to hear and even have in my ear. Just today I was listening to a song and it started crackling, never done that before.
I had the same problem. One solution i found was blow air with force in all the vents of the airpods pro even on the bottom where it recharges. Some use hair dryer, i just used my mouth to do that. Worked like a charm. Try it maybe it will work for you. 😊
Man for god's sake, I tried cleaning everything up for like 5 times. Never got any luck. I even thought that the previous cleaning did worse, as the issue got worse (the static got louder and even the sound on left side got way lower than the other side) BUT, now I tried another deeper cleaning, removing the soft point, cleaning inside, removing hard dirt, and it WORKED. Thank you!
i got new airpod pros two days ago, they worked fine until i updated ios to 15.4, whenever the left one is slightly touched, moved, or adjusted, theres a loud static/buzzing sound for 2 seconds, I ordered a replacement and if I get the same issue, it could be with ios software. It probably isnt but its worth a try.

Iv had that same issue, had the first pair replaced by apple and now the my second pair have failed. So that’s 2 sets in less than a year. Worse part is I purchased these as part of a salary deduction scheme at my work where I pay a small amount each week for these. And guess what I’m still having to pay for them even though they no longer work 😞😞
I'm almost in the exact same boat. Bought one, lasted 7 or so months then failed. Apple replaced them. Those lasted 7 or so months and also failed. Warranty is up. AirPods Pro are still broken.
AirPod pro’s are amazing, but I have had each bud replaced approximately 5 times each side. Now they are no longer under warranty, and it’s $90 to replace. It’s very disappointing due to the high failure rate that Apple hasn’t either offered a warranty extension. I bought apple care plus, but cannot extend.

Same. Twice now. Nothing resolved the right ear crackle so I purchased a replacement for the crackling right AirPod. A few months later the replacement AirPod did the SAME THING. I give up. Going to try Sony or Beats earbuds to see if they last longer.

I tried cleaning them with sponge cleaner for the keyboard and brush off the speakers. Still the same. I replaced the silicon eartips with foam then the sound gone away.
I had a ticking sound in the right ear when no music but in an active mode. Tested at Genius Bar …passed! Just got a solution… silicone earbuds with foam. Tried all these fixes… the only solution was to remove the silicone bud… weird. Until I got new foam filled buds.. sorry if this is not related but it may help someone.
My AirPod pro ( first gen manufactured on April 2021 has got this same issue but not acknowledged by Apple yet. Hope they do it soon and replace all first gen AirPod pro with issue.

If it starts buzzing when u turn on the noise cancellation just lightly tap on the airpod which makes the buzzing sound, mine was fixed immediately when I lightly tapped twice and now I'm enjoying noise cancellation without any buzzing.
Happens because of dust buildup Just clean the top grill and mic on the bottom of the stem with soft brush dipped in isopropyl alcohol fixed the issue for me.
Had the same buzzing problem on my left AirPod Pro piece. AirPod Pro gave way after extensive usage over the past 2+ years (almost daily basis). Firstly the charging case won’t charge on wired mode, only wirelessly after about a year+ (slow charging, but well it still works, so I just let it be). Secondly the high-pitched sound whenever the AirPod Pro was pressed with the ears with slightly more force (can’t fix that, but it’s only when pressure is applied, so I just let it be too). Lastly the buzzing sound which started happening 1-2 weeks ago - I tried your method with the toothbrush, didn’t work. Updated to latest firmware 4E71, didn’t work. Then I tried turning off both Transparency and Noise Cancellation (using the Off mode), and the buzzing sound went away in “Off” mode. So it was the hardware problem that provides the Noise Cancellation function (rather sad, but still functioning ok with music listening). Hopefully AirPod Pro 2 will be announced towards the end of the year, and will be able to replace the old ones.
My doesn't crackle, but it's like white noise and when people call me they all complain about "what is that irritating noise, I can barely hear you"... Its like it's nothing but static in my right ear.

I'm experiencing the same issue with my left airpod. It seems to be an issue that Apple is aware of but apparently they couldn't care less. I'm looking for new headphones but I doubt I will buy another set of airpods pro.
I had Airpods Pro for 6-7 months and it developed this problem in the right and then started to in the left. I took them to the Apple store and they replaced them with new Airpods Pro. 6-7 months later the same thing happened, but this time I was out of warranty even though these replacements were barely over half a year old. Apple told me I was out of luck. Moral of the story: don't buy AirPods Pro.

i had mine for 2 years + , and i like how they feel, how easy they are to use the battery life but the qualities are over shadowed by the negatives. Putting it very plain they dont perform - I have continuous crackling noises, noise cancellation is bad, ppl complain they can not hear me well, if i cover them with my hand some times they whistle (the sound is very loud audible by others near me) - for the money i paid for the pro;s its a huge disappointment -

i Used Blutack To Stick Dusts from Airvents, it didnot Fix the Problem completely but it minimized the Problem after cleaning the Dusts a little bit. Maybe i need to clear all dusts off the airvent
Same problem. Apple has a service program but it no longer applies to many of the failing units as it is limited to less than 3 yr old devices. I'm very disappointed in Apple. First apple product I've had in 25 years with known defect that Apple didn't stand behind. I'm trying alternative headphones. I don't want to throw money at more failing Apple products. Trying some Sony earbuds at the moment. I don't think I like them as much, but they're less expensive for equivalent features.
My job can be very boring with one of the saving graces being that you can listen to music, discovered this problem this morning thankfully before leaving for work so thanks for saving the day 😂, incidentally I found that just using a baby wipe did the trick

Only use them gently to relax, but they did the exact same thing on the right side. Very disappointing, and apples solution, tough luck warranty expired. Buy the new ones at Costco. Cheaper and comes with 2yr apple care included in the price.
I just got mine for Christmas and they were automatically doing this sound. I tested my husband’s pair and they were also. Crap right out of the gate. Such a disappointment.

This happened to my Airpods Pro just two months after I purchased and it was not only on one side. I had them replaced twice. The problem eventually came back after a couple of weeks. I think it's software issue. I gave up going back to Apple store and just turned off the noise cancelation. I don't know if I should buy Airpod Pro 2 now.
I found a fix my accident to this issue.... I put them in opposite ears: the right in the left and versa. I have an android phone and had the buzzing on one ear.... When I took out the working earpod, the sound became even worse. My fix... I put them in the opposite ears. I don't know why but I imagine it repositions the microphone and changes the trigger for noise cancellation.
I found a solution which worked for me on the bottom of the stem there r some silver lining in that there is a small line if u clean that with a brush properly the noise stops

Same here, nothing out of the ordinary and now it’s all buzzing and makes my audio sound blown out and robotic sounding. Weird
mines doing that if my volume is turned up high but if the volume is low it doesn’t do it

Sorry to hear. Airpods have been given a repairability score of 0/10 by iFixit. Literally just a loss at that point.
I actually went back to my original AirPods. I only use them for conference calls and video calls anyway.

Clean them with the toothbrush, alcohol, and q tips. Then blow into the the 3 speakers on each earpiece as well like a whistle it worked

There is an easy fix, just get a blow dryer and blowdry the AirPod that is making the noise for a while and then there will be no noise

I’ve just changed my AirPods Pro for the third time… I have the same issue every around 6-8 months. I just can’t find out if I do something wrong. At Apple, the store can’t tell me either where this problem comes from.
I found this video because I was having the same problem! Brushed off the vents on the actual AirPods and nothing but I scraped the gel bit that attaches and found a thin layer of wax and it fixed it thanks! from Aaron G

i Used Blutack To Stick Dusts from Airvents, it didnot Fix the Problem completely but it minimized the Problem after cleaning the Dusts a little bit. Maybe i need to clear all dusts off the airvent

Same problem. Apple has a service program but it no longer applies to many of the failing units as it is limited to less than 3 yr old devices.
I'm very disappointed in Apple. First apple product I've had in 25 years with known defect that Apple didn't stand behind. I'm trying alternative headphones. I don't want to throw money at more failing Apple products. Trying some Sony earbuds at the moment. I don't think I like them as much, but they're less expensive for equivalent features.
My job can be very boring with one of the saving graces being that you can listen to music, discovered this problem this morning thankfully before leaving for work so thanks for saving the day 😂, incidentally I found that just using a baby wipe did the trick

The problem accur after the last ver update. Apple make problem with taking the airpods and replace them and take responsible to the bug.

Only use them gently to relax, but they did the exact same thing on the right side. Very disappointing, and apples solution, tough luck warranty expired. Buy the new ones at Costco. Cheaper and comes with 2yr apple care included in the price.

I just got mine for Christmas and they were automatically doing this sound. I tested my husband’s pair and they were also. Crap right out of the gate. Such a disappointment.

This happened to my Airpods Pro just two months after I purchased and it was not only on one side. I had them replaced twice. The problem eventually came back after a couple of weeks. I think it's software issue. I gave up going back to Apple store and just turned off the noise cancelation. I don't know if I should buy Airpod Pro 2 now.
I just got AirPods Pro 2 yesterday and am already experiencing a very similar issue where my left AirPod just randomly get load static and popping

I found a fix my accident to this issue.... I put them in opposite ears: the right in the left and versa. I have an android phone and had the buzzing on one ear.... When I took out the working earpod, the sound became even worse. My fix... I put them in the opposite ears. I don't know why but I imagine it repositions the microphone and changes the trigger for noise cancellation.
I found a solution which worked for me on the bottom of the stem there r some silver lining in that there is a small line if u clean that with a brush properly the noise stops

My right airpod pro sounds sometimes like an engine for a couple of seconds.
Mine will make a buzzing or crackling when I use the phone. They seem to be fine when I’m just using them for music but not when I’m using it’s mic.

Biggest piece of trash I’ve ever bought…. I hate the air pod pros. Over priced and they are always failings out and sometimes it takes a miracle to pair and not to mention the stupid crackling and buzzing sound
Apple extended the re call for 3 years. The crack niose is the ealness of the airpodsnpro.
