This did help improve the crackling before it would just crackle all the time now cleaning the microphone I hear a crackle here and there enough to not get annoyed by it.
Thx bro ... It literally worked for me. And in some cases, the static/crackling sound sometimes came from the ear tip which I tried to change the ear tip of the airpods, the static is gone. So I managed to do it in your method.
I cleaned the sensors per adviced with no avail. It worked better for a minute or so and back to static and like amplified sound on the left Airpod. Anyway, Apple replaced them again.. so I'm now on my third pair of Pro's. Let's see how they hold. In the meantime I bought some Sony C500s since my patience has gone out with these Airpods. One more fail and gone to the trash. I don't care if they were expensive.. I just need my music in my ear. Thanks for all the advice!

I fixed mine and it was doing that the bass basically is up too high. Go to settings, accessibility, AirPods, audio accessibility settings, Headphone Accommodations, press on that and make sure it’s on, then scroll down where it has the thing where it says slight, moderate, and strong. Make sure it’s on slight. After I did that it worked a lot better for me!your welcome!!❤

I just gave my og AirPod Pros to my mom cause I got brand new ones with the MagSafe charging case and they still say hardware version 1.0 so that doesn’t change regardless of which you have.

I just needed to clean my ones it’s works now you need to change the plastic ear buds if you can’t get them clean them enuf and they should work that’s one of the main problems with my ones now.

I cleaned my air pods pro and then put it in the Off mode and the problem cleared. But unfortunately I can’t use Transparent or Noise cancellation. I own the AirPods Pro 2 but I like using the older model AirPods Pro at work. Apple doesn’t usually sell shoddy products. 😮 side note, I replaced them once already but currently out of warranty.
