I have ¼" stainless steel beads, so I put one on the end of the cord & then melted & flattened the cord against it to keep it from pulling off. It worked great, so a small steel ball should also work out well.

I am trying to make this as a lanyard/kechain (which is shown in the thumbnail) but it's not obvious when to loop it through your knife/EDC item. It seems like you have to do it mid construction, after you do the overhand loop core. Kind of confusing.

If you're using it as a zipper pull, and you pull on the knot, it does not come apart. If you're worried about the tucked end coming loose, a single drop of super glue will prevent it from ever coming out.

this is a late comment but after making this you actually need 2ft not 3ft, you have a huge loop with 3ft
