  • The Gundam Gremory from the side story manage Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-blood Orphan Gekko makes a sudden appearance three years after the end of the comic. Perhaps called to arms to support the coming game, the Gremory is very much like a kit from 2017/2018 that was forgotten by time.

    I haven't said it recently and it bears repeating, so I'll say it again--I love how thoroughly you look at every kit you review! You pointed out some flaws in this one that I hadn't seen brought up elsewhere, but also some really interesting design choices that I hadn't considered!
    Still not sure if I'll pick it up (especially since I've got a backlog piling up now that I'm working fulltime) but this demon boy is definitely a striking and unique kit.

      Thanks as always:)
      The Battle Anchor really is disappointing when it's so central to the kit. That thumbnail pose also seen in the video was because I couldn't get the anchor to pose any other way...
      The good thing about this being a retail kit is you can always decide to get him years down the line when you feel up for it

    Mi insights on why although feeling like a perfect candidate for PB, yet still Gremory is a retail kit are: "well it's an IBO kit, that's why"
    As I've checked on the HGIBO wiki for extra reassurance, it has always seemed like the IBO line was that one exception among the gunpla lines that doesn't have exclusive/completely new molds as Premium Bandai releases.
    Most of them are your average easily replicable (with painting and some of the option parts you're good to go most of the time) slightly parts variant kit. It wouldn't surprise me if we, for some reason, get a Vual Yuhana kit (after the new one we'll get of course) and it isn't PB too

    • @HobbyClubhouse
      @HobbyClubhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I actually never noticed but you're right that IBO kits don't have exclusive molds locked away in P-Bandai releases. It was the sensible thing for them to do as a retail product line supported by a proper TV animation (but since when has being "sensible" ever stopped Bandai from P-Bandai-ing)
      In a way, I do like the fact that the Gremory can fit nicely into the retail kits once we forget this odd time gap in its release

    As far as I know, Urdr Hunt was announced as a a mobile game spin-off that happened between S1 and S2. It was never anything outside of that. People was just theorizing without the translation of the announcement...

    • @HobbyClubhouse
      @HobbyClubhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Always appreciate the logical approach and a good balance between Lore and Model POV from your reviews.
    I do agree that it does feel like a PreBan than a Retail kit and some of the engineering on the kit are a bit odd

    • @HobbyClubhouse
      @HobbyClubhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video:)
      For things like the arm shields, when the model is fully developed, they change these oddities and then the finalized designs are given to comic artists to fit into their work. I suspect the half-finished design ended up being set in stone by the comic and by the time they dug this up to finish up, they couldn't change that oversight anymore... or maybe they just didn't have the money/time, that's always possible.

    the answer is easy, IBO + deathscythe (aka Corvus Glaive) = bandai win.
    and it's going to sell well as used item, for those of us that can't justify buying 2 of these, just to complete that scythe -> axe.

    Still baffled on how so many people shit on RGs for aging badly yet buy those HGIBO kits in droves. (Well, I know who's to blame for that, but that's not the place for it).
    Anyway, I appload your professionalism. You managed to point out the strong points of the kit alongside his questionable existence and all the known issues of the line in a fair and leveled way.
    Not an easy task, I would have been way harder on it based on my previous experience with HGIBO line.

      I was talking about people who are new to Gunpla that tend to tell you how every early RGs are hand grenades (despite never building one) but all had Barbatos/Lupus/Rex as their first kit. I just see too many of them.

      @HobbyClubhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you as always:)
      Having bought quite a few IBO kits, I do wonder why Bandai never did anything about the unstable design. All things considered, Gremory just has the common weaknesses (which will be pretty horrible in a year or two already) and doesn't add to them like the Flauros or, god forbid, the Marchosias.
      I wonder why there's a need to deny those problems when the series has better designs that clearly don't age as badly like the Graze

    • @scarletrain6757
      @scarletrain6757 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      72 is a low number for anything to be produced in, and the reason why they are rare is because it has been 300 years since they were produced and only 26 are know to still be functioning while others are confirmed destroyed uncalled for (the Barbatos, Flauros, Gusion and Marchosias/Hajiroboshi fall in this category)
      The Gremory, Dantalion, Bael, Kimaris and Astaroth are actually part of the 26 still know to be operating
