The Claymont, Delaware station looks like a real station! The last time I was there it was just some asphalt, a yellow line by the tracks, and a bench!

New SEPTA schedules are out Tim. No Great Valley Flyer added but they did restore a lot of weekend service.

Thanks for a great video! I was on 84 from Norfolk to NY on August 20 and 95 from Baltimore back to Norfolk on the 23rd. Filled in the gap with a ride on 2107 on the 22nd. Lots of track work between Wilmington and Baltimore.

If memory serves me, the 2 Keystones that stop at Cornwells Heights are remnants of the clocker service.
I love taking the train to Baltimore for the Orioles games and down to DC. The area around Baltimore generally has a good mix of freight action to watch and at time New Carrollton does too

Really odd seeing ALC-42 units being pulled into 30th Street Station. I wonder why they're there? Maybe being prepped to be hauled out to Harrisburg for use on the Pennsylvanian?

Tim, how did you get from Newark, Delaware to Perryville, Maryland? Did you drive your car to make this video? With any luck, some day MARC will be extended up to Newark, Delaware. There's talk of it.
I was pleasantly surprised to see electric locomotives on MARC. It had been my understanding that MARC wasn't running any of them anymore, sadly. MARC needs to do what Caltrain did. And so does the MBTA.
Seeing that station sign for Gallaudet University makes me recall that was a school for the deaf. And speaking of Washington, when are you going to make a video of the streetcars on H Street? And speaking of the Carolinian, I deadheaded on that train from New York to Philly and from Philly 'to/from' Baltimore many, many times. Always a pleasant friendly crew. And speaking of Baltimore, when are you going to video the Baltimore Streetcar Museum? I've been a member for many years.

Yes I drove around between Newark and Perryville. No other way to do it easily. The electrics are hit and miss on Marc.

Being from LA, I don’t agree with putting Boston in the Back Bay announcement. There’s a number of communities in LA that are part of the City of Los Angeles but are never referred to as Los Angeles, such as Van Nuys or Chatsworth.
People coming or going to Back Bay probably know it is “in” Boston.

    Hey Tim
All the videos again …! I was curious did you ever have a chance to get on the turbo train of the 60s to the 80s on your side of the border? New Haven was the fastest they did the run I believe at 170 miles an hour in 68 if I’m not mistaken.
I had an opportunity to ride it twice once in CN Livery and surprisingly on the second time was I think 81 which was just before they stopped them because they were catching fire everywhere but being a speed demon I was willing to deal with a risk ha ha ha just joking….. We had nine and 10 car sets I believe in Canada and you guys will New Haven I believe two if I’m not mistaken and then I think Amtrak sets that I am pretty certain about…. You guys set the highest speed record, which still stands to today on maybe the same tracks around New Haven, Connetiiicuttttt…
Just joking about that that was the husband from King of Queens jokingly when he would say Connecticut ….. but as I believe I mentioned that train and the highest speed recording to this date stands at 170 miles an hour by New Haven Turbo trains… most people probably wouldn’t even know what I’m talking about when I sayTurbo Train

Hello Tim, another great video with regards to this video in particular there are what I believe to have counted a total of 10 Amfleet cars, along with two electric locomotives. I’m under the assumption that one electric locomotive isn’t enough to pull 10 cars of people….! therefore the requirement for a second locomotive on the end, I’m not familiar with electric locomotives up here in Toronto. They’re supposed to be installing wiring to have the main Lakeshore line operated by go transit, which is a regional line however they have diesel locomotives. Go transit, which is our regional rail line uses MP 40s to haul 10 by level bombardier cars. As I mentioned, I’m not familiar with electric locomotives and what kind of power I’m curious whether you would be able to id the train and the horsepower or just the train locomotives manufacture, and model number if possible I believe you mentioned General Electric?

    • @3985uprr
      @3985uprr  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

They are built by Siemens. They have an engine on each train to facilitate quick turnarounds. One of those can pull a good sized train.

@@3985uprr thank you for your response however, I’m curious why wouldn’t they use a cab car obviously that would be the more expensive route to have two locomotives so I didn’t notice whether the pentagram up or not on the rear locomotive…
