It's always easier when someone else is rolling the hair. I wish I could still do hair but my health won't let me stand very long anymore. I just watch vicariously through Eden. She is such a fantastic hairstylist. Amazing!!

When you roller set hair like hers, the roots are still a lil curly, the use of the flatiron is so that all the hair blends perfectly. Idk why she flat ironed the whole head, I just do the roots. Because once it’s wrapped and then combed down, the comb out looks better and has more body
Omg finally the comment I was looking for about the bangs 🤣 as a curly girl I know for a fact true bangs are a bad idea. Always get your hair layered and "bang" can be no shorter than cheekbone depending on your shrinkage. Poor girl 🤭

I actually used to roller set my hair when I was relaxed. My hair was so trained and hunni I could sleep in them too. 🤣🤣🤣 I'm 2 plus years natural and it's not long anymore. I did a big cut just to start over. Your client hair is beautiful also. I love your work very passionate and it shows.
You didn't even need to straighten, so beautiful. This is going to be my go to instead of blow drying. I have the same length and am trying to avoid heat damage.

As a person with a lot of hair. This method works but is much more time consuming and uses more heat. You have flat ironed twice in this process with the roller set. I prefer the blow dryer and flat iron. It’s quicker and same effect. Actually less heat damage
The blow dryer is direct heat and the hood dryer is indirect heat. You would actually get more heat from a blow dryer vs a hooded dryer. And using a flat iron twice doesn’t equate to heat damage…..
She actually only flat ironed once. If you pay attention you'll see that she first only hit the roots of the individual sections but did not drag the iron down the length of the hair. Afterwards, she went back and flat ironed down the whole length of the hair. So she only flat ironed once.

You do such a great job. Her hair looks healthy and beautiful. And for those commenting about the bangs. If the customer wants bangs then that's her decision. At no point did it look like she wasn't given what she wanted. Her hair was trimmed and she got bangs. And her hair is beautiful.

Moved to another state after 25+ yrs of getting my hair done from 1 stylist for years who understands the value in roller setting hair to Pennsylvania where they don’t want to do that I’ve been told and I quote “ your making me work for my money” needless to say I didn’t have to go back .. she’s not in business anymore at a shop anyways.. but roller set is all I know
@@deloreswhite9724 because that’s what the client wanted. The whole point is to get the hair as straight as possible without blow drying before the straighten. It makes the silk press last longer, be silkier. And easier to finish

Beautiful. Did not need that much trimming in my opinion. I have a good length of hair as well and I am not mixed. I rarely ever trim and my hair grows naturally on it's own.
She didn't really need that type of trim. The curls would've hid the ends plus it's gonna curl back up anyway. My hair goes about 4 to 5in past my shoulders. Whenever I straighten it's looks great for about 4 days then it starts to curl back up again.
So if you're flat ironing to straighten and then going back to reintroduce curls, isn't that too much overall heat? (I know some stylists who believe that damages the hair.) What temperature settings are you using?

the curls from the rollers look great, but I always stick with my blow-dryer if I'm gonna flat iron after. Less tangles I have to deal with when ironing. And yeah it's "less heat" but most blow-dryers don't get higher than 200°F which is nothing compared to an iron, especially if you're using proper thermal protection. but that's just my two cents

I have not relaxed since July of '18. I did not big chop, but I can tell my hair is reverting. Cannot easily straighten hair, especially at roots.
