I'm with you on the bracken ferns. I learned the hard way. I'm an American but been living in Scotland since 1999. Did a hiking adventure up the west coast of the Isle of Jura. Lovely. But at one point, we decide, 'Let's cut through those ferns and wind up on the shore. We didn't know. We were both wearing shorts. It was probably 60-70 meters of pushing through the bracken. Now, one thing to keep in mind, Jura has a lot of deer. Anyway, when we made it to the shore, we dropped our rucks next to a big boulder and clambered up on top to take a breather. That's when my wife noticed the first tick on my leg. A tiny bugger you could barely see. Then I saw one on her leg. Then another and another. We both had to strip naked and sit there on a tarp on that boulder with the tweezers from her Swiss Army Knife and pull about 20 ticks each off each other. And we were naked because the wee bastards had made it up that far. I avoid bracken now. Last time I was in the Highlands- Wester Ross- I was hiking alone and came upon two choices: 40 meters of bracken or 100 meters of bog. I stripped down to my underwear and bare feet, strapped my boots on my ruck and slogged painfully across that bog. Took me a half hour and I was sometimes up to my thighs in the muck, but when I got to the other side- no ticks. LOL, lesson learned. Love your channel.
Absolutely adore this amazing young lass, tough as old boots and as beautiful as the countryside you explore in these forays, so determined modest and always so cheery no matter the setbacks, always puts a smile on my face to see you loving nature
"...amazing young lass, tough as old boots and as beautiful as the countryside..." Well said. I agree that really sums up the delightful WildBeare. Great spirit and attitude.
i am limited in my mobility too, and i have enjoyed these videos since i found the channel last year. as a self-confessed nature nerd - i have to try find ways to bring nature into my life. these adventures with Claire are always so incredible. I might confess to being a tiny bit jealous that i can't be out there having my own adventures.... but i always enjoy Claires videos
The scenery is incredible, the cinematography is top notch, the host is an angel. You are among the top TH-camrs, I can’t believe you don’t have millions of subscribers.
Wonderful! I have taken many solo trips into the realm of Nature, and I have always found it to be recharging, enlightening, humbling, trying--but mostly I've experienced moments filled with joy. I see that you experience the same feelings and emotions too, Claire. That is wonderful! To me, these are the most important and worthwhile moments of life! Thanks for sharing your moments of joy and excitement and humility--and frustration and anxiety, etc. with us all. You do well in helping us experience those moments of wonder, through you. Thank you, Claire! God bless you, m'dear! ❤
Absolutely stunning camera and drone work ! The Night Sky stills were breathtaking. Beautiful Welsh scenery. Well done Thank you so much for sharing. Glad to have found your channel !
I live in the Pacific Northwest U.S. and know something about beautiful places and I have to say that this is one of my favorite videos of yours. There's so much beauty and color there! What a magical place! I'm definitely putting it on my bucket list! Always look forward to your videos. 👍💚⛺🌲
Being a Londoner, it's always amazing to get out to a location where you can actually see the sky at night. Just recently did a wild beach camp in North Norfolk and I was the same as you. Just staring at all the stars at night.
It's incredible isn't it! Such a shame about all the light pollution, I live in a bortle 7 suburban, so I can only see the brightest stars here. Although if I travel out to the countryside a few miles I can get to bortle 5 areas.. still got nothing on Snowdonia and the like ✨ I think we should have a night sky event once a year where all the street lights are turned off so everyone can see 😍
Absolutely wonderful Claire, I see it was a bit of a challenge, but worth it, this area was popular in the 90's and is why paths are marked, but if they are not used they overgrow, as you have found, the area was and is beautiful, take care my little butterfly, fly free ❤
Another great vid thanks. Have to say your massively brave, i have done a few nights out now solo and i still get spooked during the night lol but not only that the places you walk are dangerous what you have to walk through you could easily injur yourself but it doesnt stop you you carry on knowing the risks just to keep us entertained so brave. Thank you so much your vids have inspired me to try this out and I have become so much healthier and fitter and have a new love for this great country and what it offers and what beauty there is.
What an amazing, uplifting, brave and adventurous young woman. Thank you for these brilliant videos, full of wonder and beautiful photography to boot. Thank you Claire.
Now that certainly looked like a great adventure there Claire! The countryside definitely looked challenging... yet absolutely gorgeous! Thanks as always for sharing your adventures :) I hope that you have an amazing week my friend! Stay wild.... -John
What a wonderful journey. Videography was stunning as always. I know how hard it can be to travel through terrain like that, at least if it's like the mountains and some interior parts of Norway and it very much looked like it is. Once again, thank you for this video, I was very much looking forward to it.
Hei Bjorn! Aw thank you so much 🤗 hope you're having a lovely weekend :) I'm just planning for a new trip, always so exciting 🤩 Best wishes from UK 🌿 Claire
Good effort in the Northern Rhinog. I've done some climbing in the Rhinogs and the approaches tend to be grim. I walked into a sheep's carcass whilst being mildly lost in the head height ferns you loved soo much 🤣. Cracking vid.
Where do I start Claire. 😁. The walk look very difficult in places. Beautiful but hard. How you manage to stay so positive amazes me. You are constantly smiling. Even when the going gets tough. The scenery is spectacular and as for the wild swimming, that is what I love doing best. Your videos and editing are brilliant. I’m loving the music. Dramatic when needed, comical in the right places. I love the photographs of the night sky. It truly is amazing when you get the perfect sky to enjoy. I’m a big fan of your adventures Claire and your journey from the start. Keep growing with your stories your adventures and your channel. It’s wonderful to see you doing so well. As always. Stay safe. ⛺️⛺️
Stars at night can be unbelievable. I’ve spent nights at 12,000 + and it’ can be amazing. What a show. Anyway… ticks, have you had lyme disease? You don’t want it. Trust me. Hordes of mosquitos? No fun either. Bolder fields, unseen holes to fall into. Not hard to break an ankle either. If you’re going to be traveling alone you have to watch the risks. Then there was the breathing thing. Water may have been a little cool too. I was doing some high mountain hiking and had been out for three days. Sun was hot and a came across a plunge pool but the water was running off a glacier. Anyway in I went and I came out a lot quicker than I went in but it was great. I enjoy your videos and don’t want to see you hurt or sick. Sometimes danger/injury is just a step away. Be careful. Thank you for sharing.
Claire, what an amazingly brave woman you are. I live in Cheshire and I recognise and love the places you visit. I have been following your vids lately and you have really inspired me again. I am ex forces and used to do adventures like this a lot but somehow I stopped doing it, but after watching your vids I am motivated again to camp and learn my bushcraft/survival skills again. Thank you for being such a great influencer and bringing me closer to the things I love. 👏
😮 Wow Claire you weren't kidding.. If at first you don't succeed, try try again, and certainly did that 👍😁👍 Amazing video and journey. Loved the dark skies and photos. That was proper rough and rugged but absolutely stunning remote wildscape.. 🏴👍😁👍 I'm sold on the lanshan 2 👍 Awesome Claire 😁 x
The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself. Beautiful adventure Claire love your outlook on life.
Wow..such a professional video. Made me smile so many times with your little challenges. You have a talent for creating a restful ambiance in your presentation. Amazing adventurer, thankyou for sharing. ❤️
But she's a snubbed 😂 She only select a few random commenter especially people with a TH-cam channel to interact with in the comment section 😂 She only wants the views and comments of the 95% of her subscribers, nothing more nothing less 😂
What a crazy bog. When you step in that hole I thought we were going to loose you. Glad you come out alive. And yes you have to take tics seriously. Am happy you knew to protect yourself. Great video and glad you had wonderful and memorable experience 👍
Your production quality just keeps getting better and better. I loved the blended shot of you swimming underwater with the lake/pond shot intertwined. Great work!
😍Looks like an adventure even Bilbo B. would have enjoyed, thank you as always for taking us on the adventure and while you may feel yourself to be just a small part of the universe you are also one of its most special. 😊
I really enjoy your videos, its so good to walk in the wild, just long days walking and feeling good, staying out at night looks like the next step, like you I walk up creeks and streams no tracks just yourself immersed in nature im lucky where I live within an hour im in the mountains. Keep travelling.
The videos are so good and expertly produced you sometimes sit and think this is done by a professional TV company spoofing us. The final swim scene was brilliantly done....WB has absolutely mastered outdoor skills and knowledge, and video production.
This and a couple of other channels have reignited my love of camping and I didn't even know that I missed it haha going for my first stealth camp next weekend
I went to north Wales in August in denbigh to see my family members and I go camping in my VW transport but seeing you do this makes me want to sort things outdoors camping with my dog love to watch the stars at night that be beautiful to see I do have family live in Snowden national park as well! Because your higher up high in the mountains, you see all the stars shooting stars the plants, but any way I will follow you on here thank you for a great video
"You can always tell how remote a place is by how many skulls you find" 🤣I love your videos, they are so relaxing and inspire me to do my own hikes, thank you :)
Hi 👋 What a fab adventure! Lovely the scenery caught by the drone, stunning! I totally take my hat off to you, forget the footpaths and totally take on the rugged moorland with all that open access to explore… even if it was tough going, you found some lovely spots along the way including the waterfalls and tarn. Great video and glad the Lanshan 2 is working well for you, it’s a fab tent ⛺️
Great video Clara Loft, have hiked Snowdonia & Bala & Llyn Vrynry many times in my younger days. Such a delight to be able to join you on your own wild Wales mountain treks, keep up the hiking & stay safe. 😃👍
A difficult trek but a very good video. Thanks for sharing. Terrific camera work, editing and production and a really nice camping experience for all of us to come along with you on. Thanks ClaireBear and Cyril.
Excellent stuff, no fear and watching your videos had totally convinced me that I want a bit of getting out there in mother nature. Thank you, your totally gifted in inspiring others.❤
I love your videos, you have a beautiful soul and a lovely calming voice which definitely helps me chill. You definitely give out good vibes and do great interesting camps, well done 🙂😎👏
Just love watching your videos,I really need to get out and get some wild camps done, all my gear is just collecting dust at the min. You're a true inspiration ✨️
I continued to be enchanted with both you and your tremendous spirit, as well as these trips in Snowdonia. Easily the most breathtaking combination of wildness and beauty I’ve ever seen. An exceptionally challenging landscape to move about in, it repays many times over. Take care, be safe, and carry on. P.S. Had to smile when you named your new sheep skull after me. A bit sad of course when you lost me along the way. 🐏🥰
This has to be one of my favourite videos of yours Claire. What a truly spectacular location and it's so nice to see someone who also really appreciates the beauty of the great outdoors! You can't beat a good Welsh Sky and very nicely captured too. The first time I ever say the Milky Way was over on Anglesey as a little kid and it genuinely blew my mind!
I have recently subscribed to your channel. love the videos, following you on your adventures. I am binge watching your videos. I like how you focus on the outdoors more than camping gear, Love the humour. Keep up the excellent work. Take care.
Hi Clare. I’ve been watching your videos a while now, and it’s great to see how much you’ve grown in confidence. In this video, you embraced change, and challenge, and when things didn’t quite work out, you didn’t seem fussed. It’s great to see! Love your vids x
Great video. Isn't it amazing to look at the stars in a dark sky area? I just love it. Just yourself and nature. You got some great pictures here as well.
Really enjoying your content Claire. Makes me want to get out into the wilderness even more every time I see you out doing your thing. All the best. Rob From Australia
I don't know if you clean your friends. I collect them when I'm in the mountains and bring them out (Deer, Goat. Possum. and Pig) for my partner who is an artist. I clean them by immersion in a bucket of water with some bleach added. After about 2 days I take them out and they have bleached white. Don't leave them in the bucket for too long or they will start to crumble. I find that this is sufficient to obtain a decent clean skull, Liked the video ATB Cheers from the mountains of NZ 😄😄
As an Aussie who has to be continuously aware of our venomous snakes when going anywhere in our great outdoors, I'm so envious of you pushing through chest high foliage and only having to worry about ticks..... oh wait-up...... we've got those little buggers as well ! Really enjoy your presentations.... very professional looking and engaging stuff.
Indeed! Not to mention the variety of giant spiders! The golden orb weavers in North Queensland are easily as big as your face! Luckily they aren’t dangerous
Another terrific episode! You're so fortunate to have such wonderful places to visit nearby. I have to drive about 2.5 - 3 hours to get to any significant mountains. Couple of weeks ago I did such a trip to the White Mountains of NH. Absolutely stunning vistas and scenery from the top of Mount Flume, Mount Liberty, and Little Haystack. 🙂
Awesome Vlog Claire! Great name for the sheep skull 🤓. Well done on adapting and not letting the lack of progress get to you. Looking forward to the next adventure. Take care.
Hi Miss Claire, your camera filmed the stars really good to see. Here in Florida on cold nights I can see the Dog Star. Camping with the stars is so much fun. On my back acres I use to Raise Royal palm , bronze and pure white Turkeys. Also giant flemish rabbits. Had ringneck and golden red Pheasants, Goats, mallard ducks and Pekings All i have now is chickens for fresh farm eggs. The wild animals on my acreage hopped my fences to the main part of my backyard. The wild animals attacked my farm animals . I have seen redfoxes, coyotees and raccoons go after the farm animals. I use to camp out in cold freezing weather during the night hours to protect my farm animals. And i use to look at all the stars. I built an upper deck about 10 feet off the ground that looks over the whole back yard. I use about 9 spotlights to light up the backwoods for me to see them coming in to attack my farm animals. So i can only hope you enjoy all that you do in life. Have a great weekend Claire. Sincerley yours R.M.
Hi Claire what a wonderful camp. So beautiful! So glad you turned back in that bracken and on that scary looking steep hillside! We were worried you would hurt yourself! Those stars looked incredible. We think you should make a calendar of all those lovely shots and the woodland and mountains. We will buy one! Take care lovely lady Helen & Andy Hogan 🌲🌲🌲xxx
Wow Claire, that was an amazing adventure. The landscape and the skies were so pretty. I worried about that ankle breaker country you were in for a little while. Thanks for taking us along again. I look forward to the next adventure.
Thanks so much John, proper adventurey in those parts! Yehh deffo ankle-breaking territory.. glad to have the walking poles (and the Garmin!) Hope you have a wonderful weekend :) Claire 🐻

Love your determination on this hike. Many would have turned back for home.
I love your videos, you always show the most amazing scenery!! Thanks for bringing us along!!
Wonderful Claire. Very professional. You are getting better & better!
Take care.
Hi Claire, just watched your dancing shorts for 100,000 subscribers, your video work is absolutely amazing !!!!!
You are amazing. Photo, commentary, story, all so well done. Ultimate kudos. This from a mature Canadian and closet adventurer.
Hi Clare. I’ve been watching your videos a while now, and it’s great to see how much you’ve grown in confidence. In this video, you embraced change, and challenge, and when things didn’t quite work out, you didn’t seem fussed. It’s great to see! Love your vids x
Aw thanks so much, its great to just be there really, even when it's not going to plan (which is quite often) 😄 Hope you have a lovely weekend :) 🌿🐻
Loving your life philosophy, keep living the dream 🙏
Love your adventures and your narration and enthusiasm xx
So inspirational and full of life, brave lady ❤
Great video. Isn't it amazing to look at the stars in a dark sky area? I just love it. Just yourself and nature. You got some great pictures here as well.
Another awesome video. Great camera work , thank you for sharing
Great stuff! I know Snowdonia intimately but not that little corner. Wonderful video Beare
Another great Adventure for 'The Wild One'
Amazing trek this time
As an Aussie who has to be continuously aware of our venomous snakes when going anywhere in our great outdoors, I'm so envious of you pushing through chest high foliage and only having to worry about ticks..... oh wait-up...... we've got those little buggers as well ! Really enjoy your presentations.... very professional looking and engaging stuff.
Indeed! Not to mention the variety of giant spiders! The golden orb weavers in North Queensland are easily as big as your face! Luckily they aren’t dangerous
Such a beautiful person with a deep respect for all nature...I love that!
