The bow holder damages the violin always. The Woodnote case' and Baker Street's bow/tube holders do not come across hitting the violin, even if the violin is lifted from the casing. The Wiseman case takes care of the bow holder entirely by removing the traditional bow holder and place the polyurethane sponge bow holder. (and they are still out of the way.) So the bow holder will no way damage the violin. One of the Bam cases, they have placed the bow holder at the violin head, so the bow holder is out of the way of the violin. Gewa puts the bow/tube holder away from the violin all together. Musafia claims to use an elastic material for the bow holder. But I don't trust it. Also, I am not a big fan of hygrometer. On these cheap cases, they can come off and damage the violin. Out of four expensive choices, I believe only Wiseman and Musafia come with the hygrometer. (Then again, I have only seen a few, so don't hold me to it.) The problem with the cheap case is that the violin tends to be loose and move around. It doesn't have to so snug. But at least the case had to hold the violin gently without too much play. So my favorite is Gewa or Wiseman. These two oblong version should fit your shoulder rest. And more if you get the backpack. You can also get the shoulder rest pouch that attaches to your case. If you feel like running out of space.
So funny when you realize the girl is only in the video to look good and point at different parts of the case haha XD I mean, he could have done that himself, or atleast let the girl say something.. XD So wierd... But very nice video overal and many good and helpful tips! ^.^
I had a violin case, not sure where it was made from. But due to high humidity in my country, the case was so swollen that the cover couldn't zip anymore. I went to the luggage/bag repair but they said it was too complicated and they refused to repair. Since it couldn't be used to travel anywhere as it was always unzipped, the only thing I could do was to dump it. Please review the material of violin cases too so that people won't experience the same thing.
If the humidity is so high it damages the case, I can imagine that your violin fell apart. Keep your instruments in a climate controlled room. Buy a dehumidifier.
The only thing I would have added was comparing each case size with the lightest/cheapest one (aka #11) so we can get a size comparison. Also with #11 the outside pocket is supposed to be where you put sheet music too lmao.
Hey can you give me one that would be good for me? I want one with 3 pockets (for the shoulder rest, rosin, and cleaning supplies Big folder for the papers And one with zippers Oh and also please tell me when I can buy them
I bought a nice old used violin case for $20. There's enough space for everything and I think it's antique look is charming. I really don't like rectangular cases. I prefer cases that are shaped after the instrument :), this goes for all instruments.
Consordini Musical instruments ummm 1:16 I think later on you said the bridge or the shoulder rest but it’s actually called a shoulder rest and the bridge is located on to of the violin kinda in the middle plus you kinda miss pronounce rosin but maybe it’s ur accent
Am I the only one that screamed when he called a shoulder rest a bridge
In my country they are sometimes called bridges, too :)

Teamwork gets the job done... ;-)
Nope your not the only one I got very triggered
Was that you? I heard it from my house.
Thank you for talking about and demonstrating shoulder rest space!
very detailed, great video, thanks!
I've yet to find a case hygrometer that was accurate or even worked.
Inta is absolutely stunning.

Gewa cases are great. Light but very durable and good protection surrounds the violin.

Helene V same observation haha but i have to amend the keen detailed overview of the cases :) peace and cheers

Is there a case with a space large enough to hold a Comford shoulder rest?
Thanks! Great video!
Are the material waterproof?
Which case?
Really important question.
I am certain the german case is, and probably the best.
Can you elaborate more on the safety of the violin cases , can it be opened without a key or do they not have a lock mechanisms ,?
It would be useful to mention materials. A foam case is not the equal of plywood.

I like num 9... Couldn't get a review on yt

Considering the violin but I really love the piano above all instruments.
Make sure to get a good piano case.
