I was a full-time corporate employee at Samsung Electronics of America, in Orange County, CA. I LOVED that job, I loved my co-workers, the higher ups I was interacting with. It was one of the best jobs I've ever had, a true dream job. Come Sept. 27, 2024, they laid of 30% of us, it was a dark day. They kept the contractors though. I'm still trying to find another job since the lay offs. EDIT: For those asking, I was in Data Analytics and saw where the company was losing money. I was not a DEI hire. TBH, someone from R&D and Innovation needs to be CEO instead of the accounting dept. calling the shots. I learned a lot, and looking forward to my next adventure. Good luck to those looking for employment as well, we'll make it soon!
The job market right now is absolutely awful. I've been trying to find one for months to offset my increasing debt after falling for an APP scam to no luck. I hope you can find one soon.
This sound like a Linkedin post and the irony is that you are already layed off and still defending them but well, is your opinion. I worked in the same building where a Samsung office was located in Latam. Nobody mentioned anything positive about them. The most shocking thing I heard was mouses being throwed at local employees but they endured that because of the paycheck. When I was in the elevators, I noticed how all the middle and higher up managers were SK males. The irony is that in the same building was a chinese multinational and they have more women in leading positions than in Samsung.
I worked for another one of Korea's chaebols which was very similar to Samsung, in fact many of the people went back and forth between this company and Samsung. They often hired only Korean and especially family members of current employees. I saw engineer teams completely miss obvious flaws in chips and product designs and if you pointed it out to them and you were not Korean they would flip out and get really angry. Many of the Korean managers wouldn't even talk to their non-Korean staff that were technically their employees, they would hire in an intern or some type of assistant (usually Korean female) and they would handle communication and instruction to non-Korean workers. Even though they were a tech company the people working there weren't very big into tech or the products they were selling. To this day I still wonder how these companies have been so successful, I guess this happens at many big companies but......
Sounds like Korea. People say America is a rcst country, they haven't been to China, Japan, or South Korea yet. I have a Laotian friend who was in the USMC and was stationed in Japan and has been to South Korea with his unit. He told me how the citizens of Japan and Korea treated him, Blacks and Hispanics in his unit like dirt, but would treat White people in his unit with respect.
When I asked Samsung several years ago why we couldn't get the Snapdragon variant of their flagship phones in NZ they responded that the Snapdragon chip was not compatible in my country. I knew this was utter nonsense and that Samsung were, and still are, using countries like NZ as a dumping ground for their inferior Exynos chip.
@@SuperMerlot I also ditched Samsung. The truth is that all smartphones are basically the same now anyway. They keep trying to convince us we need to buy the latest model because it has a faster this or better that but many of us don't even use the features we have at the moment.
Some of said SKU's don't support the bands of major 4G/5G NZ networks in NZ fyi, it's a pain to sell them retail given they might not operate on certain providers and customers don't understand that or know how to research it themselves.
Same here in India. Not sure about the latest Exynos chips but some of the older ones had major heating and connectivity issues. I don't care about a little performance loss but these kinds of issues are a showstopper. Especially if I'm shelling out the big bucks for a S-series phone.
The infinite growth investment expectations cause so much harm to companies. Imagine your company making almost 7 BILLION in profit and your investors being disappointed because they wanted 900 million more.
Imagine being a most selling products company n go bankrupt next day (Nokia), these days, especially with Chinese companies nothing is for sure nothing is for a long term. Imagine to be in top 3 (Mercedes, BMW, Audi), Imagine being VW the biggest car group n now having an existential crisis
Well, it’s public company but do not know how much shares are out there , so investors are maybe just expressing worries. But if it would go private, nothing maybe would change 😅 as Samsung is Samsung, they are from construction to army, not just in Korea tough. They are building big big sky rappers all over the world and so on. They do not have just hospitals, they I think also manufacture medical tools and etc 😅 so I guess Samsung what we know , there is maybe very little shares, same way as VW for example where Porsche fasist family owns over 70%? So market cap is based on just 30 % shares. Same I think goes to Samsung, so I guess they are on public market just for PR and those kind of things , for American or Arab markets
Theres a broader issue here in Korea which is the fact that the stock market is heavily skewed towards corporations instead of stock holders so Korean ppl themselves don’t want to invest in these mega corporations with huge influence over politicians anymore since the gov provides very little protection for investors. For example, it is extremely difficult to get a class action lawsuit going in court because theres so many bureaucratic hurdles you have to get through before you can even present your case in front of a judge so it is very popular amongst young people to invest in the US stock market or even crypto currencies instead unfortunately
I have a feeling Korea has a lot of structural problems that have come from the way they rapidly developed, similar to the massive issues affecting China today and Japan in the 80s
It's how it should be, being beholden to shareholders is the reason why so many products these days are such awful quality, if you want to invest in a company it should 100% be at your own risk.

Samsung just got complacent. They used to be at the cutting edge and usually brought new features to phones years before companies like Apple. They had LG nipping at their heels, though. Eversince LG Mobile went bust, they started modeling their strategy after Apple. The problem with that is that unlike Apple, they dont have a cult. Chinese brands are the ones pushing innovation forward now.
Complacency is what's killing everything nowadays. No one's trying to compete so they're all stagnating, rotting away, making crappier products and charging more for it. This is why competition is healthy, it forces these bastards to innovate and come up with new ways to bring people to them.
Apple understood that consumer tech would start to plateau, and so they took their time to perfect everything instead of trying to differentiate themselves as having done it first. Now it has reached that plateau, and Apple is still able to sell "new" features. None of the features we use/want really needed to be rushed into our hands, and Apple got that. But you are right about the cult part, and because of that Apple doesn't really compete against the brands making phones that run Android.
@@chuck7415 Apple is just status symbol in countries outside of US and Canada, and in US and Canada they are locking users by hindering basic communications with non-Apple devices. They have not gotten anything. infact others innovated so much that their r&d used to cost a lot and sales didn't show as much due to them not being recognized as status symbols. which is why everyone else have also now given up on innovation and just bring minor upgrades year after year. Even while being more OPEN, Google gets fines left right and centre for Play Store Monopoly and being asked not to have Google Dialer/Phone as default on other phones and now again being asked to sell off Chrome. while Same lawsuit against Apple affects them like nothing It's like Apple have people in the inside to control every judgement in their favour. So majority of companies have given up trying and just milking what they already have, just like Apple does. and everyone is creating their own ecosystem. Android watches no more work with Apple Devices. and this is just a start to all evilistic approached to consumer products and all of it was started due to Apple.
Was talking to a Samsung semiconductor engineer who worked in Samsung for 20+ years and he told me the late Lee Goon Hee is very innovative and visionary. That's how he grew Samsung while his son Lee JY can just maintain Samsung if he does it right.
I worked at Samsung Device Solutions for a couple of years and quit in 2023. We could sense that something was wrong within management, as less effort was given to properly designing the circuits and more to discussing with customers how their specifications were outrageous and could not be met

If they had never created Bixby and weren't so invasive with their software, then they would probably be doing better. Being a bit behind in technology isn't that big of a deal when your customers feel more comfortable (in general) using your products because they have a guarantee that you won't be taking liberties with the products that they already paid for. But unfortunately, Samsung took many MANY liberties that no one asked for, and they lost a lot of faith, confidence, and trust because of that. I could care less if they were up-to-date with AI technology etc. just as long as the product that I paid for was overall convenient, comfortable, and DIDN'T install extra apps that I DID NOT ASK FOR. Also, making Bixby (along with their other Samsung-specific apps) difficult to disable, uninstall, etc. having to go through a multi-step process (or just straight up unavailable to get rid of) was a sign that they didn't care about what their customers wanted. Samsung ONLY cares about what Samsung wants.
You are talking about DX teams. That is a smaller part of Samsung Electronics compared to memories and chips, DS. They made a massive blunder by stopping Samsung cloud development. Everything went downhill post that as this stopped AI groups, chip manufacturing groups, and storage groups from advancing their research that was focused on AI based products. Samsung Electronics makes way more money in memories, storage, and chip sales.
I remember an old Samsung phone of mine can't be used anymore not because of electronic problem, but because I can't delete lots of Samsung enforced apps and as time goes by it run out of storage capacity and I can't use it properly.
Bixby randomly started trying to talk to me on my new Samsung washing/dryer combo the other day, and I was really irritated by it lol. Love the machine, but crappy tech like that lowers feeling of quality for the whole product.
When a company gets too big they start hiring people who don't care about the brand or customers (mostly c-level higher ups) that drive the company to the ground. These are the people responsible for unnecessary layoffs, poor business decisions, half baked features and buggy products, shady business practices..etc. These people usually just jump to the next company with a pay rise and 0 repercussions once the brand is ruined. These people should honestly be sued and jailed. Samsung is a unique case where their higher ups were so greedy, dodgy, deluded and dimwitted that they were ACTUALLY jailed, but mostly because of corruption and tax evasion. They could have easily walked away with bags of money like most c-levels.
Sued and jailed? Lol for what? Being shite at a job isn't a crime. The problem, as you describe, is systemic of ALL large corporations. They get too big and bloated and top heavy and all about profits for investors and management bonuses.
And even the government tried to ruin Samsung by jailing a CEO for no apparent reason. I will give a middle finger to the former president Moon Jae in, aka the Moon disaster.

I drove by the new $25 billion Samsung chip plant in Taylor Texas the other day. It's a huge plant, but with noticeably relatively little external activity apparent. The rumor is they have delayed production to 2026 due to insufficient yields of their 3 nm chip technology. Apparently, the Samsung R&D guys screwed up the recipe, and now TSMC is way out in front in the market, leaving Samsung behind trying to figure out what to do with the giant plant. Whatever the cause, Samsung now is reportedly at serious risk of losing $6.4 billion in grants and loans under the U.S. CHIPS Act, which would be a devastating financial blow. It's also a major blow to the politicians, who proposed all the subsidies to increase production of chips in the USA for national security.
A little over two years ago I bought a Samsung SSD from a store here in Iceland. The drive had a two-year warranty from the store, but Samsung said it had a 5-year warranty. After a little over two years the drive suddenly failed and the store told me I had to contact Samsung to get the drive repaired. However, there is no way to contact them. They have all sorts of websites, email addresses, and phone numbers that don't work. They just don't want to be reached. Absolute jerks in my opinion.

4:27 could not be more of the case, when I worked at Samsung, you saw red tape and general disarray everywhere, it was insane. I was working on AI for a device that I couldn't even get my hands on, yet reviewers had them for testing -- I, someone whose work requires the product we're selling to get my work done, couldn't get the device! We had to use FPGAs and older models to simulate the newer device. And when our director left, it wasn't someone who had been at the office for say 20 years that was then promoted -- nope, it was some kid that was had just graduated and came over from a consulting gig that was the new director. All because he was connected. Most execs were non-korean so they weren't even considered. I used to wonder why samsung tech sometimes felt like it was all over the place, like the camera hardware would be great on the S series but then the pictures would come inferior to the competition -- i.e. because of the processing pipeline. Now I wonder how anything gets shipped at all at that place.
As someone who works for a chaebol (outside of SK), sounds about right. Senior management doesn't consist of talent, rather it's people who have been appointed due to time served or some shady connection. There appears to be little sense or strategy in the decisions coming from management and also very little transparency. They're not problem solvers, just experts in ass covering and finger pointing. Corruption would explain a lot, but of course is almost impossible to prove.
You're on point. Many Asian and today even western countries and corporations are promoting and hiring based on connections instead of aptitude or capability. Koreans are also very dynastic. This is the reason that many corp entities will fall this decade.

I am quite dissapointed with this video Cold Fusion. Samsung has done no more corporste scheming than any other mega corporation.. I would estimate it is lt less than Apple, Google or Boeing. Cold Fusion seems to have gotten all negative rumors from Samsung haters in Korea. For example, jail sentence for current Samsung CEO for lending a horse as a bribe. There was a lot of accusations but only charge that was presented to the court was a lending a horse to Olympic medalist whom happens to be a daughter of the then president. Is that a crime? The criminal CEO is let out of jail to accomoany the president who put CEO in the jail to North Korea and pressured Samsung CEO to build a factory in North Korea. Doesn't that seem more like a crime? North Korea was under a sanction by UN for developing and testing nuclear ballistic missiles. Also, comoare crimes of Samsung CEO to crimes committed by the leader of a political party that brought the charge to Samsung CEO. Thus politician is in multiple corruotion bribery indictments and sentencing now involving hundreds of millions of dollars similar to Hunter Biden case. Cold Fusion lost credibility in my view. Getting involved with dirty political infights in South Korea between pro-Nkrth Korea liberal party and pro America conservative oarty. Mud slinging Samsung, does nothing for global consumers and science.

Honestly, if Samsung could sell their Exynos chips in a way that don't insult every European and other global markets, it will sell. The problem with Exynos is Samsung tried to sell it off as a Snapdragon equivalent at exactly the same price, when in fact it isn't equal in performance. But despite that, Exynos is not a terrible chip, far from it. It is still a very well-performing flagship chip, just lagging a few percent behind the snapdragon. If only Samsung could release a special Exynos variant, and priced it like 50$ lower, I believe many will take it, because in the end of the day 99% of consumers won't notice such minimal difference in performance anyway. And for Samsung foundry, man, I feel bad for them. They are trying, but sadly the industry simply have no place for #2, and that's precisely what they are, the number 2. I wish them well, since if Samsung flopped, TSMC will have exactly 0 competitor left and that can't be good for the market.
Nobody would buy the "inferior" phone when side-by-side with the snap dragon variant, even if it performance is almost unnoticeable. It's a marketing issue. The problem is that the difference IS noticeable in power consumption and performance, so sneaking these chips in while promising snap dragon performance stains their reputation. Honestly they should've abandoned snap dragon entirely and focused on exynos, killing the other option entirely so there isn't a comparison to be made. Either that, or their chips should be very close in performance to the snap dragons so that it is truely unnoticeable.
that is literally not true - taiwan with it‘s tsmc produces almost all global high performance chips. All Apple devices use Chips from tsmc, all AMD chips are made there and also any snapdragon. Simply put, their products are so superior that no one wants to use something else - you wouldn’t buy a 10% worse pc at the same price.
As someone who has worked as a contractor for this company in Australia, I say good riddance. A disgraceful company who treats all employees like shit.
That's literally every big conglomerate out there. There's not a single billionaire ceo/chair that respects their employees. Even the "good" ones only behave well infront of cameras.
They treat their own people in Korea like shit. So they don't care how they treat others. I know.....I lived in South Korea for a few years. It was an eye opening experience to say the least
TSMC took the gamble, and spent a billion Dollars working out how to etch semiconductors with UV light lithographs. It wasn't really proven technology, but TSMC managed to make it work. The upside is we now hove better than ever chips. The downside is now we can't let China invade Taiwan. Is WW3 worth your phone being a microsecond faster? Personally I couldn't care less. I think most things these days aren't made to last for long. I've found that air fryers, regardless of brand, don't last all that long. A few haven't even survived their 1 year warranty. Samsung does have a reputation for poor quality whitegoods, and that's especially true for fridges with ice makers. That said, I have a Samsung branded front loading washing machine that's worked for years trouble free. The LG top loader I had before that was always a problem. There are a few TH-cam channels that tear down electronic equipment and provide advice on what is likely to fail first. Samsung not using its own Exynos chips in its high end devices is pretty devastating when you look at what Apple has achieved with its A and M series chips. And they even lost manufacturing chips for Qualcomm to TSMC.

The one thing you missed in your arguments is that TSMC has build up a very good and productive relation with ASML, whereas the Korean basically try to fight ASML all the way. My Samsung 82in led TV died this past week. Highly disappointed with Samsung. Didn't even make it to 3ys. Won't buy another Samsung product again just off that fact alone. But it makes sense now. And to have a 17yr old SHARP plasma flat screen in my kids room working just as the day I bought it all them years ago. Says a lot.
The US also stuffed them indirectly by sanctioning china so they make their own now, Samsung could’ve supplied them and helped South Korea. They apparently are a US ally 😂

Only 2 Samsung products I ever bought were TV's. One the old CRT (no longer available) type has been indestructible, 20 years never needed a repair still going. The other DLP new at the time a complete lemon that broke down in weeks and needing constant repairs until I gave up and junked it. Their autos (Kia, Hyundai) I wouldn't touch, very risky. Constant recalls, breakdowns, catching on fire.

Turns out hundreds of people in Singapore have been filing complaints with the consumer authority about their Samsung Galaxy phones from the S21 model onwards sprouting that vertical line on the display, right as the warranty ran out. Alongside this video and the comments underneath - something is seriously going wrong at Samsung.
In crisis? The expression "too big to fail" comes to mind. As much as we justifiably fear AI and it's hallucinations- the organization or re-organization and monitoring the integrity of officers could easily be accomplished with the tech. It might lead to divestiture, it might be streamlining.. but the assets and marketshare protect it
At 7:19 you mention that SK Hynix is the exclusive vendor of HBM3E memory to NVIDIA, but Micron also sells HBM3E to NVIDIA. This means that while South Korea is currently the leader, they have serious American competition.
Micron's tech is slightly better but they simply do not have the volume capacity right now. When their fabs in Boise and Clay ramp up you could be right.
Full circle, mate! I was introduced to your channel years ago when you released your "How big is Samsung"-video, and which implied there was no limit to Samsung and its innovation and business. And here we are, with Samsung now facing a 122 billion dollar crisis.
This came at a time when my 700 dollar Samsung microwave stopped working within a year, the key pad stopped working and the only fix is replacing the entire door (since the key pad is integrated with the door assembly). Never again.
Samsung appliances have 1.1 stars on every major customer support satisfaction survey. Your microwave not working has nothing to do with this, it’s because they have ALWAYS preyed on uneducated buyers.
Easy answer, the stock market is a complete hype pump and dump right now. There is no reason at all in a sane world for Tesla to be valued more than Samsung no matter how much you might like Tesla. Samsung produces FAR FAR more products than Tesla yet by pure magic Tesla is still being hyped to no end. Samsung PE ratio is 11.6 vs Tesla PE ratio of 176. The world is just completely out of wack.

I have the Renault Latitude or the Samsung SM5 and it's pretty decent. Interior has held up after 12 years, no mechanical or electrical faults either. Has GPS, heated seats, bt/Aux, Sunroof, keyless entry and start/stop. No physical metal keys at all, just a credit card sized fob that you can stick in your wallet and leave it there. BTW the car is made in Korea and shipped over to Australia as a Renault. It has the typical smooth and soft ride of French cars so turns out Samsung can build a better French car than the French itself😂😂. The engine is a Renault and Mercedes collab, code is OM669.
If I remember correctly, the reason Samsung rebadged Renaults in Korea has to do with former CEO Lee KunHee's love for cars and perhaps little else. I lived in Seoul for a long time and drove a rental Samsung on Jeju. The car was fine for the few days I had it.

That's why the Chinese are making bank. They saw it ahead of time. And are offering cheaper phones that do almost the exact same.
I hope their phone division continues to do well. It's really only Apple, Google, and Samsung that do phone updates properly. While Samsung mid-range phones don't get security updates every month getting them reliably every 3 months is o.k.

I used to be more of a Samsung gadget guy(TV's, tablets, SSD, memory cards, smartphones, etc.) but more recently it has not been as much. For example, the Samsung smart TVs, have an Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) feature that is enabled by default that uploads a screenshot every so many seconds to see what you're watching. This is not legal in South Korea on top of that. ACR also applies to LG, Roku, and Vizio by the way. To be safe, I disconnected it from the network (just to make sure) it's not uploading data but now my TV pops up with a message that it's not connected to the network randomly and its annoying. Amazon and Google TV's are two brands that do not use ACR.

Samsung is undervalued. If it was an American company it would’ve been compared to the magnificent 7s. Their phone sector is second behind Apple, best display, best nand flash, dram, ssd, and best battery in the world. They should worth around 1tillion dollars at least.
Samsung is responsible for not being properly valued. They do not trade in the US market which is by far the largest and most fair market in the world. Their stock trades in South Korea (makes sense) and Frankfurt (totally weird). My suspicion is that they don't want to follow the strict reporting requirements of the US market, so they abstain. Result is a lower price for their stock, but it's their own fault.
While Samsung has been investing in AI and ML for years, they've taken a different approach from companies like Google or OpenAI. Instead of focusing primarily on large language models, they've concentrated on practical AI applications for their devices and components. They have the technical capability, data centers, and chip manufacturing ability to develop AI solutions, and aren't restricted by U.S. chip regulations since they're a South Korean company and a major chip manufacturer themselves. Their more recent moves, like the introduction of Samsung Gauss, show they're also moving into the LLM space.
"Instead of focusing primarily on large language models, they've concentrated on practical AI applications for their devices and components." Wow, this is reason to be bullish on Samsung.
I am so happy about this. In Australia they released the S24+ with Exynos chipset not the Snapdragon. Not too long ago they were making around 11 billion, so the decline has been very concerning. But most importantly their primary competitor Apple over the past 4 years has made a per year profit of over 95 billion. By doing this Apple can spend lavish amounts on R&D (31 billion last year) while Samsung can't afford to do so. The investment in R&D is where the innovation comes from. Some of said SKU's don't support the bands of major 4G/5G NZ networks in NZ fyi, it's a pain to sell them retail given they might not operate on certain providers and customers don't understand that or know how to research it themselves.

Theres a broader issue here in Korea which is the fact that the stock market is heavily skewed towards corporations instead of stock holders so Korean ppl themselves don’t want to invest in these mega corporations with huge influence over politicians anymore since the gov provides very little protection for investors.
All these companies are addicted to the high price tags, but they have little new to offer.

When a company gets too big they start hiring people who don't care about the brand or customers (mostly c-level higher ups) that drive the company to the ground.

Interesting
where did this happened?
As someone who works for a chaebol (outside of SK), sounds about right. Senior management doesn't consist of talent, rather it's people who have been appointed due to time served or some shady connection. There appears to be little sense or strategy in the decisions coming from management and also very little transparency. They're not problem solvers, just experts in ass covering and finger pointing. Corruption would explain a lot, but of course is almost impossible to prove.
This is exactly what happens. I have had to use my own personal devices for testing, which isn't a great idea to begin with.

Good in what way?
Nobody would buy the "inferior" phone when side-by-side with the snap dragon variant, even if it performance is almost unnoticeable. It's a marketing issue. The problem is that the difference IS noticeable in power consumption and performance, so sneaking these chips in while promising snap dragon performance stains their reputation. Honestly they should've abandoned snap dragon entirely and focused on exynos, killing the other option entirely so there isn't a comparison to be made. Either that, or their chips should be very close in performance to the snap dragons so that it is truely unnoticeable.

I naively bought a Samsung French refrigerator that the ice maker never worked right. Then bought a front load washing machine a few years later. It died 2 years after - right after the warranty expired. Never buy an appliance from them again.

Ps. I have been using Samsung phones since s7, love their displays and phones.
LG is better for appliances. But I stick to Panasonic for reliability.
According to the videos I've seen, just avoid fridges with built in ice makers from any brand. My understanding is that Samsung do make some nice fridges, but it's only a few of the Bespoke models. They've lost the lytography war. Tho, they're not the only one. Intel is the biggest loser on lytography war against TSMC.
Every single benchmark and comparison in youtube comes out at the same conclusion, their exynos are inferior in raw power and they overheat. They are only superior in battery management, which only shines in middle range phone, where top performance is not expected.

If I remember correctly, the reason Samsung rebadged Renaults in Korea has to do with former CEO Lee KunHee's love for cars and perhaps little else. I lived in Seoul for a long time and drove a rental Samsung on Jeju. The car was fine for the few days I had it.
@@Alex_Unorthodox that's interesting! I wonder if they still have newer rebadged Renault models

Their phones prices are out of control for the amount of stagnant features that are offered.
Same as apple
@@heymukedit56but apple will always be an expensive phone company cuz it was their selling poing but not Samsung.they make very mediocre phones which can be achieved in400$ other android phones.
Literally the whole smartphone market. We've hit a plateau in terms of advancement. More and more people are realising that especially in this economy buying 1k+ phones is making less and less sense.
That's why the Chinese are making bank. They saw it ahead of time. And are offering cheaper phones that do almost the exact same.
@gcc2313 That applies to the top end as well. Their batteries and cameras are on another level.
The removal of features like headphone jack and expandable sdcard is why i don't buy samsung anymore.
Billions and Billions and Billions!
I hope their phone division continues to do well. It's really only Apple, Google, and Samsung that do phone updates properly. While Samsung mid-range phones don't get security updates every month getting them reliably every 3 months is o.k.
I'm a fan of Samsung devices because of Dex. As long as Dex is being worked on, I'll be buying only Samsung.
I had a Samsung washing machine. The motherboard crapped out four times in 2.5 years! Went back to a old school General Electric.

Going into a global economic crisis that's going to make 2008 look mild by comparison, it won't just be Samsung. It'll be the vast majority of companies that will have a hard time just surviving the next 5-6 years.

"Infinite growth model" is insane
Google for sure use ACR, 😂
in my home country the largest company (owned by a German carmaker) represents 1% of the national GDP and everytime there's a sneeze in the economy, be it national/political issues, unions strikes, logistics issues, issues with the company hq in Germany, etc., media, politians go berserk. Can't even imagine what would be 20% of the economy
0:20, 22% of GDP😳😳

you make a good point about the functional parts of companies being intertwined with the shortcomings of financial competitiveness. It makes me think of the US businesses/manufacturing locations that would shutter not because they weren't profitable, but because the board members saw fatter profits doing things elsewhere. From a community and consumer perspective a company losing money that provides employment and goods is beneficial. From a business perspective it's best to throw employees to the wolves, stop producing, and scrap assets for cash

Samsung is undervalued. If it was an American company it would’ve been compared to the magnificent 7s. Their phone sector is second behind Apple, best display, best nand flash, dram, ssd, and best battery in the world. They should worth around 1tillion dollars at least.
In no way ss battery is the best
Samsung is responsible for not being properly valued. They do not trade in the US market which is by far the largest and most fair market in the world. Their stock trades in South Korea (makes sense) and Frankfurt (totally weird). My suspicion is that they don't want to follow the strict reporting requirements of the US market, so they abstain. Result is a lower price for their stock, but it's their own fault.
Never thought of it like that, makes sense why they not in the U.S. This also tags along with the family part of it as well@@bruxi78230

I work in the semiconductor industry, Samsung’s spending has basically been shut off for the past quarter or so.
"Instead of focusing primarily on large language models, they've concentrated on practical AI applications for their devices and components."
Wow, this is reason to be bullish on Samsung.
"they have concentrated on practical AI applications"
Which is ??
They over diversified and over stretched. Getting crushed by TSMC is just natural course.
Even if AI doesn't become a miracle. Everyone needs high-quality chips.
yes exactly . As someone working in the chip domain, majority of population don't understand how important semiconductor is for the future

7:38 - we're sorry for ONLY making $6.78 billion instead of the $7.68 we expected, guys. 😂
Tech companies either innovate or cease to exist.
@@bruxi78230 but Samsung has been innovating by copying apples horrible practices like removing headphone jack, charger brick , copying designs, how did these not work?

As an Apple user who would never use any Samsung device as they played dirty in the past with SHARP, SANYO, Pioneer, Apple, etc, I hope that they will sort their sh.t out.
