  • 'Broke Again', written by Beeb Birtles & Graeham Goble, is a classic Little River Band song from the 1976 album "After Hours". This video has recently surfaced from regional Ballarat TV station BTV-6 and features the original line up.
    Little River Band:
    Glenn Shorrock - Lead Vocal
Beeb Birtles - Guitar & Harmony vocals
Graeham Goble - Guitar & Harmony vocals
    Derrek Pellicci - Drums
    Riccardo Formosa - Lead Guitar
    Roger McLachlan - Fender Bass
    Guest musicians:
Ian Mason - Piano & Hammond Organ
Tony Buchanan - Tenor Sax solo.
Broke Again was originally recorded & mixed by Ross Cockle at the famous AAV studios Sth Melbourne in 1976.
The audio you now hear has been carefully remastered from the original mix master tapes by David Briggs and re synced to this restored video.
Quite frankly it's the best it's ever sounded.
Special thanks to Milton Hammon for unearthing this lost video.

All these years later and this band still hits all the right feels. I wish I could tell them how much of an influence they have had on my family and I throughout the years. They were a beautiful melody for some of our best memories. Truly the music of my life!

After Hours was a fabulous album (still have it), and this was a standout track. Great band live. Saw them twice at Revesby Workers Club in Sydney. Still have fond memories.

Thank you so much for posting this Roger. A band that has formed much of my love of music. My mum took me to their concerts from their first ones in Adelaide in the 1970's and played their music constantly through my childhood until I bought all the albums myself on vinyl. I now pass my love of Little River Band to my 6 year old boys who are building their own love of their music.

Hi Chris, so cool to hear you saw them in the early 70's! The first song I heard from them was, 'It's a Long Way There' ... what a song, I thought! I had a chance to see them perform at a small club in Virginia Beach, Virginia; it was called the Rogues Gallery. I was lucky enough to grab a table at the front. I have to say that they were great! That stage 'pulsed' with energy!

Hey Dude. I really appreciate your passionate comments on my youtube channel. Please READ the description with this video. You'll discover that RJRKM (Roger McLachlan) is the guy that posted and appears (Bass Player) in this video. There are no microphones on the drums. You also do not see the piano player or the organ player. The sax solo is a piece of video I found and dropped into the video. It's a mime. With respect please enjoy the music 🙏

@RJRKM That's cheating, you fooled me, lol. To make up for my mistake, this version of It's A Long Way There, is most definitely live and would you believe, it wasn't a Little River Band and was first sung by another band... sort of.
It was actually first sung by Mississippi who did a shortened version of it with some parts missing but the then lead singer also did a great job. Given how good Mississippi and Axiom were, it's little wonder that LRB became a super group although it's a shame that all the members didn't get along as good as say, the Travelling Wilberries members.
Here's the broadcasted Mississippi version that was recently uploaded to You Tube. You wouldn't have seen this before unless you watched the original broadcast which was GTK on the ABC. I only found out a few days ago that GTK stood for get to know. Looking back to when I was, I find that the strangest thing was that I used to just accept things on face value and never asked asked questions about anything, lol.

@@murrayleewilson0755 Thanks Murray. Most film clips you see are mimes. It's just easier that way. For the record we did get alone really well. Don't by into the media hype regarding band politics. Being an original member of LRB I'm very aware of the Mississippi version and the history of It's A Long Way there.
