Since I am a Serbian-American who was born and grew up in the region I often watch various travel logs of foreigners who visit the region of former Yugoslavia. You guys are some of the better ones! You are open, positive and relay your experiences very well. Thank you!
Not so nice in winter and early spring time. But, starting from late April on, with green budding and leafing, with warm sun, flowers, Palich could be amazing. You could ride bikes, row boats, just soak in the sun and fresh air, there are nice architecture old houses, good restaurants. Serbia is generally best in spring everywhere. There are also salashes with domestic animals, horse-riding, varied wonderful food, domestic traditional specialties.
You can visit some of this places: 1. Krupajsko vrelo (Beautiful nature) 2. Pačir banja (Pink lake) 3. Đavolja varoš (Some kind of rock formation) 4. Uvac (Amazing river) 5. Golubačka tvrđava (Big fortress) 6. Gamzigrad (Remnants of the Roman Empire) This is some of my favorite places but you have much much more to explore if you have time. Good luck, guys!🇷🇸

Shopska salad comes from south-east Serbia! That garlicky pepper salad can be made with the long green peppers too- just oven roast them, peel them and add garlic, oil and vinegar!
The feta is actually called beli sir in Serbia. This means white cheese. (sir is related to word sour because that is what happens when you make cheese)
I gues nobady told you the story about the Panonian sea.Long time ago the whole region was under wother,whole Vojvodina part of Hungary,eastern Croatia even north parths of Bosnia.Why?the Danube river could'n past the Djerdap hills,thay are not high but stoney.So the wother needed hundrets maybe 1000 years to find his way tru.Thats why we also Djerdap call the Iron Gates.Why is the agriculture in this Region so good, becouse there is still so much wother in the ground.Some of us say,you can spitt on the ground and Something will grow.

@@frostflower5555 however it may be, the serbian salaš and hungarian szállás is basically pronounced the same and it was Austrohungarian Monarch Territory, where the majority of the inhabitants were (and still are) hungarians.
You are missing out on the atmosphere because of the pandemic. You should definitely come back when life gets back to normal. I learned a lot about Serbia watching you, I have a desire to visit some of the places even though I've been living here my whole life :D

Did you try my favourite rakija there, quince rakija or dunjevaca in Serbian? It's kind of sweet and innocent and after you had a few it hits you like a hammer and wipes up your memories 😉

You should go to Drinska regata in july in western Serbia,Bajina Bašta and mountain Tara 🥰 We also have a house on the rock (google it 🥰) and the best RAKIJA,BB Kleka ⚡🇷🇸
The architecture is mainly designed by architects from Nish. It is original Serbian architecture. Some of the inspiration is drawn from older ethnic designs of houses and villages. Then later with the liberation of Serbia, most influence came from Russian arhitecture, and towards the north, a bit of Austro-Hungarian inspiration. in the early 20th century, king Aleksandar I was a big speaker for the starting of a neobyzantine style together with the Russians. The church of Saint Sava in Belgrade is built in this style for example.
Every village/town in serbia and ex yugo countries every bodies house had farmland and livestock, people lived self sustaining lives as Yugoslavia became a more technological society

Salash probably comes from the word Selo for village. In Serbian when we say selo it means farm/village.
