Serbia is amazing, I'm British but my husband is Serbian and we're eager to relocate to live in his village. For £16,000 we can buy a massive house with fertile land, most places have fruit trees e.g. plums, quince, apples, cherry, grapes on vine etc... I live in northen part of Serbia, which is Vojvodina. Where you get a house for 10k is the area with underground water. Your walls will be full of water with first rain coming. Also, there are no jobs, not so many "international" people etc. If you want to live in Novi Sad or Belgrade, you have to pay $1300+ per square meter.
@@axlcinema That depends on many factors. You can find cheap houses in suburbs, renovate them the way you want, and have all the benefits of the city within 20min drive, and as far as I've heard average commute in USA is a lot more than basically if you can work remotely, and keep your income, you can live very comfortably in Serbia. But our government is making it more difficult for foreigners, cause they just want to collect more stupid fees(theyi doing it to us as well).
@@axlcinema Depends, if you want to retire and have no human contact, or no social life, live of a land, there is a point, but if you are looking to fix it up and sell back...hahahhahahahhah..no.
The second one is probably the best. Imagine property cheaper than a car. Although some of those you would need navigation to find especially at night.
Andrew, there are thousands and thousands of properties for sale for $6k in Bulgaria ! Just here in France I once spent hours screening all the properties for sale for $10K. There are just too many of them... Almost nobody wants to live far from the convenience and entertainment a big city offers !
I'm French and very curious where you saw properties at 10k in France. Maybe a little 20 square meter in a very remote village. In France you will not get less than 500e per square meter, for something so so, and that's in the very remote areas, in Auvergne/Creuze/Massif central region for ex. Plus you will have to pay taxes. Plus the roof may not be in the best state
Video Idea. What $100k buys in ..... choose 3 cities in capital cities near where you are located. Or What type of life will $60K a year buy you in city x. Accomodation, restaurants, massages, gym membership, movie.
The most expensive gym by far would probably cost you 40-50 euro per month in Sofia and it looks like a nightclub. That is if you sign a long term contract.
In capital cities prices are pretty high comparing to an average salary of 400 euros. Novi sad it's like 1200 euros per square metre, depending of the area beautiful city.In Belgrade you can probably find for same price per m2
@Philip-Alexander Jach Yes way, a lot of houses in eastern Croatia are vaccant due to owners moving abroad due to lack of job opportunities. I am talking about villages, not cities though.

You should also checkout the very southern part of Bosnia, near Trebinje, Republica Serpska. Warm Mediterranean climate and only about a half hour to Dubrovnik
I dont recall seeing a bathroom. Did they have running water or electricity? Can you drill a well or install a septic system to bring it up to livable?
You can buy cheap houses in Bulgaria too depends of the region, situation is the same young ppl move to big citys and only big farmers can stay in vilages that are far from citys.
Thanks for this video, Andrew. I wonder, it's nice to know these cheap properties exists. But what I want to know is how do you benefit from this kind of deals? Do you fix and flip, rent them out...? Have you eventually bought one of these? Keep up the good work and thanks for inspiring me!
I dont think you could fix and flip. It makes sense for living, its very cheap to live in Serbia especially in villages, cheap and decent health care. There are some retired people from UK buying houses in Serbian villages and living nice and quite life while having more than enough money with their pensions and in some ceases rents from UK. One couple that i know say that they could never afford to buy a house in UK, they say that taxes are too high, living cost are high and medical expenses are too high...
@@draganmarkovic491 But UK healthcare system is ranked the number 1 in the world. Serbian system is probably around 100th to 140th place. What kind of health insurance these UK expats have?
If you want to turn people off then you are going about it the right way. The background music is not necessary. You are not making a Hollywood blockbuster. Let natural sounds be your guide. The content and intent is very interesting. Please keep up producing these real estate videos. God bless.
They are cheap because all the young people are moving to the cities. ROI is bad on these houses. Beter invest in newly build apartments in the bigger cities. For example in Sofia you can get a brand new appartement for 35k, pay 40% yourself and 60% loan from a Bulgarian bank. Make sure its within 5km of the university and you can rent it out for 400-600 a month to an international student, around 200 if you want to rent it to a local. On the bank loan you only have to pay back around 120-150 a month. Did I already mention that for 35k it comes furnished?
Would have been nice if the camera moved more slowly when in the homes so we could get a better look at the materials used. These were very interesting homes
Great concept! Maybe do within a 30 min radius of Belgrade/capital cities (more EU countries also!). Locations that are reachable to airport/city center by public transport are really important. Cheers!
hey man, I have been with your channel for years. probably, since the beginning. I have a suggestion for you. | can't read your book because I am quite busy. but, if you make an audiobook on audible I will definitely buy that.
I had to work in the Czech and Slovak Republics shortly after they broke from the Soviets; the film here is very reminiscent of that period for me. I remember thinking that they had so much in the way of resources, but that they didn't seem to know how to utilize them well. Sadly, many people I met there longed for the return of the Russians...freedom is scary for many.
Great fun video ..... many more please. Thanks for Gordana's website, now just need to find a House Inspector ans the local Government Farm Extension office! Thanks...keep up the great work!!!!
When something is cheap, there is a reason why it is cheap. There are cheap houses for sale in Serbia, but if you wish to live there you might have to pay for renovation of these houses which were in most cases abandonded years ago when their owners moved elsewhere looking for better life and were not maintained since than. There is also a problem with infrastructure in such places, in many cases they are lacking good roads, well supplied shops, Internet connection or running water supply. There is also a very limited number of jobs there, in general if you buy a house in Serbian village or small city, the only job you may have there is farming your garden.Things in this respect are slightly better in Vojvodina, but not much better.
Selling Dacha like an Amazon, that looks really fun! Especially if anybody knew how cheap is a good lawyer which will provide you the right support for this amazing stuff 8)
Good video. It's one thing to talk about price per square meter in some city, it is totally different when you actually show the house and the surrounding area. It gives people a solid understanding of what it is really like. The second house seemed pretty good and a good price. Still, I think it was not a very big town. A good kind of place if you want to hunker down and do some work with very little distractions for a few months. There are many places like this in Europe like Spain, Greece, Italy. With these small town houses, there is a real chance that it will be cleaned out or occupied by squatters if you go away for even a few months. I know this is a problem in Spain. Is this a big problem in Serbia?
the 2nd one is really nice, and i think, a reasonable price in a nice town. Would be a good choice for someone who want to immigrant to Serbia with a low budget!
great video , i have also bought property in serbia . i would reccomend to never renovate the property or do it just after the winter , you can get the same work done for 50% off , if you are able/willing to wait a little bit :) Be very direct about the amount of money you are willing to spend , and also very direct about what you are not going to spend
Andrew when You do decide to open Your service for Serbian people, I will be more then happy to hook You up with great real estate deals in the South of Serbia. Perhaps we can do some sort of reciprocity deal.
Enjoy the quiet suburban semi-rural life of having a nice large yard to yourself where you can grow vegetables, fruits, even a chicken coop if you feel like it? You literally cannot do better than Serbia. You'll be able to find tons of deals on the outskirts of Belgrade and Novi Sad that are quite cheap. Most villages have decent infrastructure and stores nearby and roads leading to the big cities. A typical village or small town of around 1,000-5,000 people will have convenience stores, a community center, a bakery, a park, a church, a cafe or two and perhaps even a restaurant, car repair shop and the like. Take Čenta, for instance. It's halfway between Belgrade and Zrenjanin and you can reach the city center in 30-40 mins outside of rush hour. Đurđevo and Šajkaš are close to Novi Sad, or Rekovac if you enjoy mountain scenery, or even Vrdnik across Fruška Gora where there are thermal spas. The village of Bački Petrovac is also very close to Novi Sad and has its own Aqua Park. Near Belgrade Jakovo and Boljevci have tons of potential and their prices are set to go up because a highway exit on A2 will connect them up nicely with the center of Belgrade. Then there are tons of nice villages around Pančevo. But there is no reason to limit oneself to Belgrade and Novi Sad. Niš is often overlooked in comparison with the first two, but it is also, for Balkan standards, a big and bustling city and now has a working airport that connects to a lot of European destinations. If you can set up shop in Niš, there are places around Niš that are surrounded by amazing mountains, and are also dirt cheap AND are also quite close to Niš, now that A4 is complete. Bela Palanka for example. Or just further along Pirot is a larger town of around 35,000 people, but it is absolutely surrounded by breathtaking nature and the food there is awesome. Not only that, but it's also just an hour away from Sofia. To sum up, it is extremely easy to find extremely good value in Serbian villages and small towns that are close to big cities such as Belgrade, Novi Sad and Niš. You can find large estates at low prices and decent quality connected by adequate roads and not more than an hour away from the major centres.

I live in northen part of Serbia, which is Vojvodina. Where you get a house for 10k is the area with underground water. Your walls will be full of water with first rain coming. Also, there are no jobs, not so many "international" people etc. If you want to live in Novi Sad or Belgrade, you have to pay $1300+ per square meter.
also, there are digital nomads who earn their bucks remotely e.g. fixing computers of old grandmas and grandpas in UK and setting up their wifi etc.
@@momentumstocks3493 Waste of money and time. Belgrade and Novi Sad - OK, villages in Vojvodina - No.
Nadezda Spasic so there’s no point in getting one of these houses and fixing up?
It was really good to actually have a walk through to see what you get. This channel just got even better.
Thanks a lot,😍happy that you notice progress.
The second one is probably the best. Imagine property cheaper than a car. Although some of those you would need navigation to find especially at night.
Hi Andrew, awesome to see you going around 😊 you are keeping the scenery real.
as much as this guy travels, I'm surprised that hearing about a 3$ cab ride still garners an expression in his voice.
The third property would be good for a retreat but would probably be a complete tear down. Great video btw. Please do more like this
Thanks Jay, we will!
She's pretty good. This was a great on the ground video. Good intel.
Eric Everson Thank you Eric, glad you liked it!
Andrew, there are thousands and thousands of properties for sale for $6k in Bulgaria !
Just here in France I once spent hours screening all the properties for sale for $10K. There are just too many of them... Almost nobody wants to live far from the convenience and entertainment a big city offers !
Didier deNice Where in France did you see such properties?
@@GreenerPastures114 Nowhere in the world there is such deal, except in Cambodia maybe
@@GreenerPastures114 the land in France is 22 times more expensive than in Vojvodina, the province of Serbia
Plus the roof may not be in the best state
i like this video more than the others gives u a sense if what people are missing out in a real setting instead of just explaining things in an office
Really love the format of this video and the one you did in Turkey
Thanks Matthew. :)
Video Idea.
What $100k buys in .....
choose 3 cities in capital cities near where you are located.
Or
What type of life will $60K a year buy you in city x.
Please let me know how can I contact Ms Gordon , I want to buy a small house with some property
wow Serbia... this is an interesting content!
Thank you.
Get better places even if the price is higher. Location location location is the key 🔑
100 miles west you can buy house for 20k in EU (Croatia).
@Philip-Alexander Jach Yes way, a lot of houses in eastern Croatia are vaccant due to owners moving abroad due to lack of job opportunities. I am talking about villages, not cities though.
@Philip-Alexander Jach Some examples of houses in Croatia (EU) for 20k euros:

ah memories of shared taxis in cyprus when I was travelling!! It is a cheap way of getting a to b though
Thank you... with a little TLC one could make a charming home for not a lot of money. I never knew.
You should also checkout the very southern part of Bosnia, near Trebinje, Republica Serpska. Warm Mediterranean climate and only about a half hour to Dubrovnik
Love the music included in this production 👍
U r bringing complete information...hats off...
I could farm there. Beautiful
Beat video yet, Andrew. Super interesting / fun to watch
Thanks! :)
I really enjoyed this video. Please do more videos like this!!!
I dont recall seeing a bathroom. Did they have running water or electricity? Can you drill a well or install a septic system to bring it up to livable?
EXCELLENT. Can U please give the realtors name of these villages. I may visit Serbia in near future. God bless your family

If you are not obsessed with capitalist crap, check out "Bald and bankrupt" channel for something much better, style-wise.
You can buy cheap houses in Bulgaria too depends of the region, situation is the same young ppl move to big citys and only big farmers can stay in vilages that are far from citys.
These videos are the best. Do more like this
Great video we need more like this. This is one of my favorite channels!
Thanks Steve, glad to have you!
@@moonlight-kh6uz I really dont know...
If you want to turn people off then you are going about it the right way. The background music is not necessary. You are not making a Hollywood blockbuster. Let natural sounds be your guide. The content and intent is very interesting. Please keep up producing these real estate videos. God bless.
Haha my town! Love it!
Hey bro, for how much can i buy a business there
They are cheap because all the young people are moving to the cities.
Very professional to block out the accidental product placement :)
@Philip-Alexander Jach Unfortunately, these chips are not available in my country.

Very grateful for the tour.

Great concept! Maybe do within a 30 min radius of Belgrade/capital cities (more EU countries also!). Locations that are reachable to airport/city center by public transport are really important. Cheers!
Thanks Amanda!
hey man, I have been with your channel for years. probably, since the beginning.
Nice to see Nomad Capitalist go Nomadic! Hope you will do more remotes.

There is also a very limited number of jobs there, in general if you buy a house in Serbian village or small city, the only job you may have there is farming your garden.Things in this respect are slightly better in Vojvodina, but not much better.
criminals rule our country.f****g criminals destroyed my country
Selling Dacha like an Amazon, that looks really fun! Especially if anybody knew how cheap is a good lawyer which will provide you the right support for this amazing stuff 8)
You have a really nice house in the town of..... well now I know! CLASSIC!
Need more of this kind of videos... Showing what you say.
Mug says "Mrs always right".... RUN!!!
Not that I'm aware of. :)
@Nemanja ĆIrić but who will move the shit out? modern alarms are a necessity
Is it too cold in winter? I would like to own property there and maybe also a vacation apartment

Hello, is there a citizenship by investment program in Serbia? Thanks in advance
I'd like to know the answer to this question too.
great video , i have also bought property in serbia . i would reccomend to never renovate the property or do it just after the winter , you can get the same work done for 50% off , if you are able/willing to wait a little bit :)
Be very direct about the amount of money you are willing to spend , and also very direct about what you are not going to spend
In the middle of nowhere, in most passive areas, it is possible to get a house for £1 in the UK, or 1 euro in developed European countries

Thank you for sharing your experience.
Still these are available ? Please guide.
