001 002 I’ve always wanted to press some silver dimes and some silver quarters! On my recent trip I pressed several 1910 wheat cents, and I pressed a bunch of Indian Head Pennies. But, next time I go to Disneyland, I will definitely press silver coins :)
Why did this whole situation just make me emotional 😭 I love it when people share their passions with others ❤ Thank you, Matthew! I'm thinking about starting my own!
MissMary coin collecting has been a major part of my life. When I’m not collecting older pennies and nickels, I’m actually an editor for a coin magazine in California. Pressing coins at Disneyland is a great way to start! Just enjoy yourself and have fun collecting; that’s the most important part of the hobby:)
I love this video and thank you for your contributions to it, but the young kid picking his nose and grabbing the plate while you were being introduced was the best part of the video.

I have collected these since 1989, one thing we always do is make sure Lincoln is facing left in the slot! That way, the backside(which usually has fewer designs) shows a stretched Abe..
Andrew Koledin question how do you keep your collection from being tarnished? Mine, the print looks like it’s fading I’ve had them for over 10 years. Sadly, I stopped collecting because of this.
Thanks for the shout out! You didnt have to do that! Amazing episode! The pennies are so fun and definitely the most underrated souvenir. Glad you had fun with this episode! :)
No matter where I go..that is one of my favorite souvenirs. I'm off to Disney World in Oct. And I'm throwing every quarter and penny I get in my change jar.
I love pressed pennies!!! But I hate that once you collect them, you don't really see them anymore. They sit in a book, etc and you don'd really see them. That is why I started an Etsy business that makes jewelry from the pressed pennies. Come check it out www.etsy.com/shop/ThreeDDesignStudio ! I can use my pennies or if you have pennies that are special to you, I can make jewelry from your pennies!
Late to this game, but I absolutely love this. I'm a huge pressed penny collector and have thousands. I love the little tip that you put in there of the date of Penny best to use. One other thing is if you put the penny in the machine correctly you will have the date still visible, of that penny, on the opposite side of the design.
You missed the best one of all , The Main Street Train station ... What would be cool to do is all of the machines , I MEAN ALL OF THEM ... you forgot to talk about the ones in the Hotels . You can ALSO get a MAP to ALL of the Machines on and off property at the Mad Hatter I believe it is ... Do a Video where you go do them all and keep a running total of the cost . That would be Cool ...
I am Canadian and we do still have penny pressing machines at the occasional tourist spot... but it’s literally a round piece of copper that gets pressed, not an actual penny. Also, still have my pressed pennies from Disneyland as a kid in the early 90’s :)
Shenni thats awesome! Yea, back when we had pennies, you’d still put in your penny, but it wasn’t your penny being pressed. I first discovered this as a kid when I put in a new shiny penny and my press did not come out shiny, haha!! It’s probably how they got around the laws.

I’ve been saying each episode is my favorite but this one definitely is my absolute fav!!!! I’m so excited to continue collecting pennies! I know I have some from the beginning in a old jewelry box! Thank you again for a great video
I kept seeing you in other bloggers videos and I was curious about your channel.. saw one video of yours, sold me... your energy is what the world needs right now! Just subscribed 👍🏻

Hello Chris. My family and I have been watching your videos every day! Been 10 years since we’ve been back to Disneyland. Our 7 year old daughter is so excited and keeps asking if the park pass guy will be there next week when we return😍 Love your magical channel. Keep spreading the love. ----------- Here is a video idea for you…. “What to do if you or your children get tired and need a rest while in Disney” It can be exciting running around for the first time and kids can suffer ‘burnout’. I LOVE THIS CHANNEL SO MUCH!! My school took our Advanced Orchestra and Advanced Band (I’m in Orchestra) to California Adventure for the whole day until it closed and at around 6ish we went backstage to learn Disney music. We played When You Wish Upon A Star, Marvel Introduction, and The Lion King. It was so amazing... just like this channel. 👍🏽👍🏽💙💙💙
they used to have hand cranks. it is probably to make them more accessible. the other cool thing is they change them every few years so there is always a new pressed penny to collect.
I noticed that too, I guess I am just use to the hand crank presses because that was all they had in the Grand Canyon when I went last year...I have not been to Disney in far too long.
Amazing. I never tried these at Disneyland and I didn’t know there are so many different ones! I’m going to check them out on my next trip! Thanks! This is my new favorite one!
My family LOVES watching Provost ParkPass! This is one of my kids' favorite videos that you have made. We are planning a trip to Disneyland for this August, and we've been collecting nothing but pre-1982 pennies ever since we watched this one. Thanks for that awesome tip!!
There is also a super rad app called "Pressed Pennies at Disneyland". It shows you where the pennies are located, and helps you keep track of them. This is my favorite PPP video ever!
I don’t know how or why this video got recommend to me but I sat and watched the whole thing and it made happy to see how happy this guys was to press coins.
Chris you bring so much magic to disneyland and all of the hidden gems that sometime go unmissed! For me every penny is just a memory of the visit... not the coin itself. Love the vids!!!
I used to be a vinylmation collector, I just started collecting pins, but I guess it’s time to become a penny collector too! 😂 Great video as always!!!
I'm a casual pressed penny collector. That was a fun video. Thank you! I began pressing coins on railroad tracks when I was a boy. Potentially dangerous! Not recommended! Probably illegal! (But fun memories.)
I am SOOOO glad I found this! My son just started a pressed penny collection and I used to be a cast member but never knew about some of these penny machines. You have a lot of great Disneyland info. my friend 😊👍
There had to have been a moment before making this video where you guys looked at each other and said... “how can we make an entire video about pressing pennies? “ 😆 congrats, you did it!
I'm glad you had a lot of fun with your first encounter pressing pennies and thanks for using my post. Let Miles press some pennies in the future as he'll probably get a kick out of watching them being created. Watching my kids anticipation and reactions was priceless.
Update...I was at Disneyland over Thanksgiving week 2022 and each of the penny machines that we encountered did not require a penny. Just $1.00 for one pressed penny or sometimes you had the option to pay $5.00 for all of the penny designs in that machine (some of them had 8 options). If you want to use a credit card, you have to choose the $5.00 all-designs option. We didn't see all of the penny machines so this may not be a universal change, but I kinda suspect it is. The pennies are still pressed when you order them, as evidenced by their warmth when they come out.
Thanks again for this video. It hasn't been long ago when machines like these are throughout the park. The video now also documents some fun Disneyland history in an excellent way.
I have collected pressed pennies since I was little. I still prefer this everywhere I go. I have them in shadowboxes and many people compliment over them. Cheap way to keep souvenirs too =)
Amazing! You used my comment, that made my day.😊🎉 As an international visitor I always get so many coins - so I started pressing pennies to use up all my spare pennies and quarters. They are such a fun souvenir! I still learnt so much! In no TH-cam video does anyone mention the moving elephant in Adventureland or the seasonal nickel press... one of my favourite videos you guys have ever done! 😍
Thank you so much for this video!!! I went 2 years ago and started a collection. We're going back to Disneyland next month and now I know how to find all the machines!!! I'm so excited!
@@provostparkpass you can find them on ebay for 5 to 10 bucks but you can ask the bank for a bunch of quarter rolls (preferably 300 dollars) and you can find 1 to 3 of them (they're easy to find because the side of the quarter is all silver and when you drop it it makes a ping sound). After your search you can return the quarters to the bank.
Thank you so much for this video!! My daughter recently got into wanting to start pressed pennies and this helped her find many of them she was able to get this past weekend!!!
Saw you at the park but was to shy to say hi :P I'm from NZ, and it was my second time in 8 years at the park :) My partner asked if he could do the pressed pennies as I had never done them, and what joy they brought! It was soo much fun :) I wish I had seen this before though, as we missed SOOO many!!! Any way thanks for your videos, they were a life saver for us as we only had a certain amount of time in the park and had travelled a long way :)
Provost Park Pass you should try applying to be a CM! I don’t really know anything about requirements and it is probably easier said then done.. but you know John Lassiter worked Jungle Cruise and look at him now! *technically he was already at Disney animation but he really didn’t make anything big yet... ehh.. still going with it*
fakingtrels I would turn to the person next to me and say pinch me, then probably wake up cause I was a dream and I would be “oh yeah.. Robin Williams is still dead! Oh.. oh :(“. And then I cry cause I would remember his passing... Yeah this is what I think about at night
So I went searching... and the pressed pennies given to you by the Disney employee is the “Disney VoluntEars Volunteer Haiti Relief Pressed Nickels” it’s from a retired machine and you can’t get it anymore!
Interesting fact: Pressed pennies may have been invented in Australia, however on the 14th of February 1966 the new Australian coins came and and it became illegal to destroy or alter currency (no matter what). So... To get the enjoyment of pressing pennies we have to go to other counties... Not so bad, Disneyland here we come! :D
I remember as a Disneyland tourist, I collected pressed pennies from different amusement parks that I visited in California. When we were annual pass holders in 2019, I let my son get a few pressed machines. They are a lot of fun.
@@samanthaweber2195 yes in Canada to deface money. *****The Canadian Currency Act states, “No person shall, except in accordance with a licence granted by the Minister, melt down, break up or use otherwise than as currency any coin that is current and legal tender in Canada.”**** ......
@@silentrunner7283 it's *technically* illegal here in the states too, I don't know if he mentioned it in the video but it is illegal to deface US currency, but only with the intent to change its face value, so as long as you don't try and actually spend those pressed pennies, you can keep them legally as an "altered coin." Same applies to videos you may have seen of people engraving on quarters making designs on them. After it's been "altered" it can no longer be used as currency. I don't know if Canadian border agents would really take exception to a bunch of pressed pennies though, I mean it's obvious that you're not going to try and spend them and you have them as keepsakes. It just seems like a really stupid thing for a border agent to spend their time doing.

Thanks again for an amazing episode. We plan to do pressed pennies when we come from Australia in December so this was awesome😁 I’d love to see something on Fantasmic at some stage if you are able to 🤞🤞🤗
Ahhh this is the best video ever! Pressed pennies and Disney! My favorite things ever ....but I just got back and had NO IDEA they had penny books! Next time. The best part was watching you catch The Fever. People don't get it until they start squishing!
This year I went to Disney world the first time. I made some pressed pennies, took a map, our magic bands, the buttons they gave me for free, and a keychain with the year and scrapbooked up a shadowbox for my family.
I love how I've watched every Provost Park Pass Disneyland revealed video so now I'm just rewatching them all again Also I'm going to Disneyland tomorrow so I'm excited
I won't be able to go to Disneyland and collect pennies anytime soon, so I counted how many times he said the word "penny" or "pennies" in the video instead.... 63 times upon watching the video once
Chris, going to DCA with my wife for her very first time this Saturday. Your videos have really helped so much with all this great trivia. Thank you, Greg and Amanda!
YES! My husband and I have been collecting these for years. We even have some for rides/attractions etc...that are no longer around. Quick tip. Go to the bank prior to your trip and ask for a roll or NEW PENNIES. These give you a shiny souvenir. I also bring a roll of quarters with me so we don’t have to run back and forth for change.
Ok, next time I go, I'm going to have to go COLLECT EM ALL! Does that booklet that you bought actually hold them all or do you need more than one booklet?

Hey... did you like work at Disneyland.. I have never really asked and you brought up you want your own someday so it got me thinking 🤔
No I never have. It’s my dream.
Provost Park Pass you should try applying to be a CM! I don’t really know anything about requirements and it is probably easier said then done.. but you know John Lassiter worked Jungle Cruise and look at him now! *technically he was already at Disney animation but he really didn’t make anything big yet... ehh.. still going with it*
@@Ethan839 robin Williams was a jungle cruise skipper as well. Imagine being on the jungle cruise with robin Williams as the freakin skipper
fakingtrels I would turn to the person next to me and say pinch me, then probably wake up cause I was a dream and I would be “oh yeah..
I had three books of them, mostly from Albuquerque's three bioparks. I gave them all to my granddaughter
This is now on our 'To Do' List for our trip there in three days!!! Thanks guys!
Love the curb themed segment lol. Larry luck
Oh wow that’s so cool! It’s so awesome that cast members can give things out like that.
No way! I did not know this. Well that is just one more reason to visit Disneyland :D
I remember as a Disneyland tourist, I collected pressed pennies from different amusement parks that I visited in California. When we were annual pass holders in 2019, I let my son get a few pressed machines. They are a lot of fun.
Hey Chris, how about a video on the walk in Walt's footsteps tour??? Or any of the other tours?
Just started to watch; but it’s unbelievable how positive you are 👍👍
Awe thank you. ❤️👍🏻
So if I go and do the press pennies and come back to Canada, will they confiscate it because it's illegal?
No they wont I have a ton from my trip
Silent Runner it is illegal?
@@samanthaweber2195 yes in Canada to deface money. *****The Canadian Currency Act states, “No person shall, except in accordance with a licence granted by the Minister, melt down, break up or use otherwise than as currency any coin that is current and legal tender in Canada.”**** ......
Silent Runner oh
Lmfao! The be our guest moment and her face is priceless! So something I’d do. Make fun dances and then people look at me weird
Going to be there on the 27th hope to see you I'm going to start a penny collection now
I love pressed pennies!!! But I hate that once you collect them, you don't really see them anymore. They sit in a book, etc and you don'd really see them. That is why I started an Etsy business that makes jewelry from the pressed pennies (including Mens/unisex jewelry). Come check it out www.etsy.com/shop/ThreeDDesignStudio ! I can use my pennies or if you have pennies that are special to you, I can make jewelry from your pennies!
When I saw the title for the video I was so excited. My daughter and I collect together. Didn't know about the nickel press. This just moved to one of my favorite videos 👍👍👍❤️. PPP is always on top of their game.
Jasag24 you are so welcome. And I’m so glad you like our videos. I bet you and your daughter have great memories collecting pressed pennies
@@provostparkpass I posted a pic of one of her books on Patreon 🙂👍
Thanks again for an amazing episode. We plan to do pressed pennies when we come from Australia in December so this was awesome😁 I’d love to see something on Fantasmic at some stage if you are able to 🤞🤞🤗
I’m so happy you liked our video. 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Ahhh this is the best video ever! Pressed pennies and Disney! My favorite things ever ....but I just got back and had NO IDEA they had penny books! Next time. The best part was watching you catch The Fever. People don't get it until they start squishing!
Omg 😍😍😍

Love you family 💖
Look for us this weekend!!!!!
I have been every time we go! 🤗
Met Provost in the park today!! We collected over 100 more pressed coins today to add to our collection! Thanks for the tips!
I’d like to see a secrets and history video for the turkey leg, and dole whip
loved this! I'm collecting pressed pennies mostly of national and state parks I go to :)
I want to do this one day I’ll go solely to the park for this purpose 😆
You won’t be disappointed. It’s so fun. 👍🏻👏🏻🎉
Great video! I love collecting pressed pennies.👍🏼
Words of wisdom given to me: Use shiny clean pennies for best pressing.. compare it to one with a dull penny of the same mold.
This year I went to Disney world the first time. I made some pressed pennies, took a map, our magic bands, the buttons they gave me for free, and a keychain with the year and scrapbooked up a shadowbox for my family.
*g a s p*

Isn’t it a fun hobby. 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻❤️
I have discovered a new Disney vlogger! Time to binge watch.
Jeff!! No way. She is going to love it. Look for us!! It’s gonna be a great day. 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@@provostparkpass I'll stop and say hi if I see you guys. She's gonna absolutely love it.
Awesome! We'll be around too! Have a great time!
We got stopped at the airport because we brought so many pennies to press on our way to Disney land.
No way!! That’s a hilarious story. ❤️❤️👏🏻
I've been noticed!
DO DISNEY PINS. I LOVE THEM
Don’t worry we will definitely get to pins. 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️
Ok, next time I go, I'm going to have to go COLLECT EM ALL! Does that booklet that you bought actually hold them all or do you need more than one booklet?
