One time when I was little I had lost my lanyard and I was crying so a sweeper came over and asked my mom what was wrong, she explained what happened, so he took us to an area and said to wait here. Are we gonna talk about the fake Disney pins, my sister works at Disneyland and says cast members aren’t allowed to say no to a trade even though they can tell the pin is a knock off

@@jasonsiska1704 that's right, its important to note that the design wasnt implemented until 2012/2013, unfortunately it doesnt make it easier to discern unless you can verify when it was made :/
If you need a pin back you can ask a cast member who is sweeping. Sometimes they'll see them around and pick them up. They'll give one to you if they have one.
Tips from someone who has been trading since 2003. 1) don’t buy pin lots online. You may be getting 100 pins for 25 dollars, but they’re all fake. 2) you’re allowed to say no, don’t let people pressure you to trade. 3) check for fakes at the board, lots of people don’t follow rule number 1. 4) have fun 5) I suggest if you decide to collect, choose one topic... from experience. 6) buy locking backs from amazon, you get 40 for 10 dollars, and they don’t damage your pin back or require a wrench.
I did the career start program in Disney world. When I worked there, the cast members were allowed to place one pin backwards. That would be a secret hidden pin. Anybody who was curious about the pin would have to trade for it before seeing what it was. It just made it a little bit more fun, like a mystery pin.
Alea Tomassetti It’s called Antique Station and it’s in Orange! That whole street is filled with antique stores and almost all of them have Disney memorabilia. It’s awesome! Hopefully you get a chance to go!

Ok mister fast-talker! You should have shown all the tie pins you got in the end!!! OR show all of the pins you landed. Fun video. I LOVE pin trading. I think I may even have a tie pin. I'll have to check on that now.
I know, I just went through my coins to pick out my pre1982 pennies for wherever my next penny press may be and now I find this and how fun PPP makes it!
That happened to me about a year ago! It was one i didn't really care about and ended up trading for a pin from Disneyland Hong Kong that had made its was to WDW!

I'm a beginner pin trader, and just stumbled upon this video. THANK YOU so much for posting this one. I've only been collecting Star Wars pins, and was finding that trading isn't that easy. Great tips! Thank you!

I went to Disneyland a few years ago and fell in love with the Duffy pins! I collected all the Duffy pins with the different Disney character hats on them. I managed to get the completer pin but I still need to find the silver ones now! Great video loved it! I learned some more trading etiquette.
Thank you Chris for explaining pin trading! I never understood what the excitement was all about -- but now I see just how fun it could be!! You guys are always consistent in showing me so much more then I ever knew about Disney! We have been making pressed pennies a tradition now for all our trips (it's a great souvenir to get when you have 4 kids) Hopefully we are all going to make a trip to Disneyland this March and they are excited to get pressed pennies there!!
I just loved this video so much, I loved that you found a lot of ties even though they're so weird and special, the best was that the people changed them to you ♡
A few things with the video. "Completer" pins are actually called "Chaser" pins. The more hardcore traders are actually now no longer to setup shop inside the parks. They used to give them an area in Frontierland and also in Tomorrowland but what wound up happening was that they would pay people to go inside the shops to buy up all the LE pins because they have a limit on how many you can purchase. So they wound up ruining it for everyone. Limited Edition pins will have a number on the back of how many of that pin they are limited in production to. Some might be 5,000, others 100. Pins can also be gotten in a wide variety of weird ways, not just purchased in the park. I started collecting Tron pins when I went to the premier of Tron Legacy. Fandango did a secret promotion with Disney that a random amount (I believe it is 1000) pins were sent to people who bought their tickets to the movie from Fandango. Weeks after I attended the movie, I just got this really cool pin in the mail from the movie. There was also a super rare Tron pin that was only available from a somewhat unmarked gumball vending machine in downtown disney. It was the only place you could get it, so Disney sometimes makes these pins available in very weird ways. Hence, the rarity of some of them. Lastly, if a cast member is wearing a green pin board, they will not trade with adults, only with kids 12 and under!
This video is great, wish Disney would share this video (endorse!) because we got to the park and didn't know what all the pin business was about. Keep up the great work Chris!

I started collecting and buying pins around the 60th Anniversary and became addicted. I haven't tried trading at the parks, but I've wanted too. Was thinking about buying a pin bundle online, but did my research and realized that it's not fair to be trading fake pins (scrappers). So when I do return to the parks someday, I will do exactly what you just did and buy a starter pack. It looks like so much fun! However, I definitely will not be trading any of my favorite pins that I already have.

awesome video will have to get a starter set for my sons and watch them have a blast
This has always been a mystery to me, thank you so much for explaining this whole thing!
